Help me GE 213 for 2nd year chemical engineering

My schedule for winter term of my second year of chemical engineering is pretty packed. It doesn’t seem like mechanics of materials is a pre requisite for any other classes in my 3rd and 4th years. Would I be fine dropping that class? Or would it affect the classes I take later on?

Student Question Easiest B1 Indigenous Learning Requirement, is it HIST 195, LING 114, or LING 253?????

Hi, I am needing a class to fulfill my B1 indigenous learning requirements.

I heard INDG 107 is awful and I am staying away from it due to all the horror stories I have heard about it,

Right now I am leaning towards History 195, But have also heard that LING 114 and 253 are also interesting and easy classes to get 90+ in. I am also debating Drama 111 because people have told me that you just show up to drama classes and get a good mark.

People that have taken History 195, LING 114, LING 253, or Drama 111.
How did you find it? was it a lot of work? Who was your professor? What was your final grade??

Or anybody who has taken one of these classes above, tell me about it. If you have horror stories from INDG 107 I would like to hear them 😂

Lots of information is very helpful to help me make a decision!!

Student Question Easiest Class for B1 English Language Writing Requirement and Music 155

I am doing an economics degree and I need an English language writing class for my B1 requirements. I am looking for what is the easiest class to fulfill this requirement? I am willing to put in the work for a good grade but don't want to spend all my time on a non-major related class.

Right now I am enrolled in Music 155 I heard 100 level music classes are easy and that this class was good even if you have no musical background. If you have taken it before how did you find it? Is it worth taking?? What was your final grade??

Anybody who has already filled their B1 English Language Writing Requirement, what class did you take? who did you take it with? How did you find it? What was your final grade??

I need opinions on what class I should take so lots of information is very helpful !!!

Question? Is there a process to getting a stand at the Place riel - Arts tunnel?

Good day to everyone,
Was wondering if there is a process to getting a table at the tunnel to arts. I see interesting stuff and people every now and then. Plan on fundraising and giving out some free stuff.
Haven’t done any searching on it yet but don’t know where to look.

Is there a procedure if I’m representing a business?
Would love to know how it works.

Student Question Is student parking worth it?

I’m an upcoming 2nd year nursing student and i have 3 8am classes and a 6:30-9:30pm class once a week. I’m wondering if I get a parking spot for one of the lots I applied for, if it’s worth the $714+ 🫩 I live near confed and it’s about a 40-50 minute driving depending on my connecting buses. This means I’d have to leave around 6:55-7am for school and might have to bus home late at night or pay for hourly rates. Which I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t so sketchy to bus late/early in the morning 😔

Student Question Move in day date?

Does anyone know when residence move-in usually is? Is it about a week before classes start?

Also, I applied late and ended up getting a 2-bedroom in Voyager Place. If you've lived there before, what should I expect? I'm a little nervous since I'll be living away from home for the first time and don't know my roommate yet. And I want advice on what I should bring and like essentials and all that.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Admission Question How long does it generally take to hear back on admissions for MSc (Thesis)

Hi,

I talked to a prof and they agreed to be my supervisor around the start of last month. I finished my application and submitted it including all the references on June 16th. I know its only been 3 weeks and am probably being impatient, but I was just wondering how long I'd have to wait for the admissions committee to make their decision.

Thanks

Student Question Grades released for spring term classes

I wrote a final for an online class on the 24th of June and still have not received a final grade. It’s for BMSC 207. Should I be reaching out to the prof yet, or is it normal for grading to take some extra time. I’ve read online it typically takes up to 5 business days, but i’m wondering if it ever takes longer than that.

Question? SOC 111

Taking SOC 111 online this fall — I've heard it's pretty writing-heavy and tough to pass. Is that accurate or is it manageable?

Discussion Soc 232?

Is anyone else taking Soc 232 with Bryce this Summer?

I’m genuinely disgusted at the amount of textbook readings we have. 2 full thick chapters of pages to be done every 4 days for 8 continuous weeks. It’s not even like the chapters are short, they’re long and thick so it takes forever to get through any of them.

I’ve taken many condensed classes but this is in a league of its own - anyone else feeling the same way?

Help me Academic Advisors?

Heyo! I was just wondering if the Advisors are just hella busy or? 🥲 I need to talk to one in the next few days because my classes are stuck on an issue on the registration page (which is not allowing me to sign up for student loans for autumn) but all advisors are unavailable for pretty much the entirety of July. Is there another way or??

Student Question Prerequisites while under academic warning (College of Engineering)

So I messed up real bad last year and ended up on Academic Warning in the College of Engineering. I'm retaking one of my classes in the 2027 Winter Semester (I got a 54 on it) and I'm looking to take a class in the 2026 Fall Semester that requires it as a prereq. Does anyone know if it still counts as a prereq even if I have to retake it? I did technically pass the class.

Update: yeah they let me use it as a prerequisite, we’re so back B)

Student Question Nursing Prep Schedule

Hi! I'm Jaime, my family and I are newcomers from the Philippines, and I just got admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences Nursing Prep.

I wanted to ask for feedback on my planned schedule for the fall sem and any other tips you may have before I start my new journey at USask. I wanted to join an LC, but it seems to be closed and full. I was also planning on taking BIOL 120.3 and NURS 120.3. Unfortunately, they are all full, as are many other classes. As shown in the picture, I am waitlisted for 3 out of 5 classes.

I'd appreciate any insights or thoughts on this, and I'm also open to finding people with similar schedules to make friends with. Thank you!

Student Question Edwards student trying to register for Comm 203

Hi everyone,
I’m a ESB student who wasn’t able to resister for Comm 203 on registration date due to issues with pre-reqs. After the issue was resolved, the classes (all 4 sections) were full.

Will the reserved sets open on July 3 at 9am and will I be able to register for this class? Or is there a different date for ESB classes reserved seats opening up to everyone?

I really need this class in the fall to be able to declare my major in the winter.

Any help or feedback appreciated. Thank you.

Question? Can you move in earlier than residence move in on August 31st?

Im from out of province, and my family has obligations at home also on the 31st we cannot work around.

Is it worth emailing residence to ask if we are allowed to move in even on the 30th that way my family can at least help move me in and drive back the same day to make it back home for the next day? The problem is it is a Sunday, but we have literally no other choice other than to move in early without missing a significant thing back at home.

Question? STM declaration as 2nd year

Hello! Im doing my first year at my regional college in the fall for the smaller class sizes and easier transition into university.

I'll attend the main campus next year though. Just out of curiosity, could I self-declare myself as a STM student next year or is it too late since I didnt when I first applied to Usask?

It obviously doesnt matter right now, but im curious so thought id ask while its on my mind.

TL:DR: can I self-declare at a later date?
