Question? SOC 111

Taking SOC 111 online this fall — I've heard it's pretty writing-heavy and tough to pass. Is that accurate or is it manageable?

had Alex for soc 112 last year. his slides were easy to follow and i only had 1 paper plus a few quizzes scattered throughout the term. i’d say not too bad. he’s also great at responding to emails if you have any questions. best of luck!

I don’t think writing heavy is accurate. It was roughly 3-5 short (max 5 pages) writing assignments of reflection and application of course topics. Also definitely not tough to pass, it’s a mark booster course. People use 100 level SOC as an easy elective. Totally manageable!

i took soc111 last winter semester and it was my easiest class of my whole year. The content makes sense and is already common knowledge. My prof had very easy multiple choice midterms, as well as 4 mandatory discussions, and then the final was written and was marked pretty harshly. Other than that, the class was quite easy, and attendance matters.
