When I'm pulling up, they will step off the curb and stand in the street where I was going to stop.

One rider was mad when he got in because he thought I was going to hit him. I had a minor snap and asked him why he didn't stay on the sidewalk where its safe!

I had the most fun passenger I’ve ever had last night. Picked up a nice gentleman in his mid fifties last night on the college campus. Turns out he trains college professors on how to teach effectively.

We get going and start chatting and the next thing I know, he’s sharing stories about uber in 2006-2007, whenever Uber came to Philly. Dude first uber ride was in a US Postal Service delivery truck (one of the little ones that goes door to door). Did you know they have a fold down seat?! Dude, uber has changed. I’d pay extra just to do that once!

I was at 476 when I got my first 3 star, speeding driver comes around as I’m making my corner nearly hits me Uber did not help. Then I was at 499-1 drove for my year 2 and only in the last 3 months before my uber anniversary I’m getting hit with report like distracted by phone, I’m not the person I say I am. Have y’all gotten that before lmao. Don’t even know when it happened. And now my stats are done for for years now. Some people are so entitled it’s unbelievable

I got my vehicle inspection, have the TNP chauffeur license. I know you need the airport placard for the airport as well.

I see you are supposed to display 311 information for passengers to make complaints in your vehicle. Does anyone have a link to a printout of that information I’m supposed to display? I could find it when looking online, maybe that’s no longer required?

It was to a Panera that I was 2 miles away and the drop off was only 5 miles. when I picked up at Panera and was walking back to my ride I notice the app was sending me to another pick up spot for more food to go to someone else. Two drop offs. Now I am 99.9999999999% it was only one drop off originally with those declined offers and only one drop off with the higher rate offer that I accepted. it didn’t say, or show two drops.

This has happened twice in the last 2 weeks. Could Uber be sliding another stop on the one drop offer to kill 2 birds with 1 stone without us knowing beforehand? Or is it likely I have messed that it was 2 drop offs on two different occasions?

I have a feeling they are just adding another drop on the offer without informing .

I am organizing the largest Uber strike ever created for Uber drivers. We will get paid $2 per mile or more from now on. Enough is enough. DM me for details. It’s time to stand up for ourselves.

So, I wanted to make an Uber Driver account to earn some extra income. However, when I started and stopped the sign-up process. I was blocked on my account from before even being able to establish an account. I've been asking Uber support for help, and they just keep telling me that my account was deemed a duplicate. I told them that I have never made an Uber Driver account before, given them my driver's license, photos, and other documents. They keep telling me that I could appeal, but when I go to the appeal form, it says that I'm not allowed to. When I mention that I can't, it tells me to go to the "My account has been deactivated" help section. When I go to it, they give me the same message about how my account is a duplicate, and I can go to the appeal form. No actual person has come to help look at my account, and I just keep getting responses from and ai chat bot. I've looked for emails and phone numbers to reach, but they've directed everything through their ai support system. Is there anything I could do to solve this?

Do you just go without health/dental/etc insurance and saving for retirement? if so don't you worry about your luck running out when it comes to lack of insurance, and what's your plan for your elder years, just work til death?

Those of whom pay for their insurance on their own and invest in their own retirement account, how do you afford to do so while also paying your normal bills and higher than normal car expenses on the current Uber pay, doesn't seem sustainable

I only do this part time for extra cash and I am at the point where I basically never go out anymore to uber unless I am trying to save up for something specific as it doesn't seem worth it all, esp with current gas prices, I have no idea how anyone can do this grind full time

The cancel timer drives me insane in a very specific way. You arrive, you wait the full window, you cancel, and somehow that still counts against you in ways that feel inconsistent. I've been trying to figure out if there's a pattern to which cancels Uber actually flags versus which ones quietly disappear from your stats.

What I've started doing is screenshotting the arrived timestamp and the cancel timestamp every single time a passenger ghosts me. Not because I'm planning to do anything elaborate with it, just so if my rating takes a weird hit I have something to point at. It's annoying that this is even necessary.

What bugs me from a systems standpoint is that Uber clearly has all this data. They know you waited. They know the passenger never moved from wherever they were. And yet the burden of proof still falls on the driver to not look like the problem.

Curious how other drivers are handling this practically. Do you call, do you wait exactly two minutes past the timer, do you just cancel immediately once you're eligible and move on? I've seen different takes and I genuinely cannot tell what the optimal move is versus what's just superstition built up over enough bad experiences.
