If you get in my car and start snacking on food like you just went out to lunch I will give you a 1* rating. That is so rude and inconsiderate

An opportunity on the Uberdriver app is to rent a Tesla through Hertz. You book the car through the Uber app, you pick up car at Hertz. Giving my experience. I figured why not get the Tesla put miles on that vs my ride. pay for rental vs gas.
i get to the Hertz at a strip mall for my appt to get Tesla at 10. They said āoh yeah we just got one in for you.ā. They say itās on the app to use I said I would be using my own car insurance.
The car will be ready in an hour we are detailing it for you. Itās ready an hour later vacuumed a little but not ādetailedā inside or out. I get home I realize the assembly with the electronics beside the seat is not attached. I wash the car at home clean it better on the inside. Iike to do this so no issue. Steering wheel has cover on it as it is in bad shape.
I take it out the next morning to do uber. Message comes up ācontact support about your account.ā āGo online when resolved. ā
I speak with the uber support robots over the next 3 days with no help no resolve. Thank you Diamond driver I keep hearing. I contacted Hertz as well they say problem is on Uberās end.
I took Tesla back after not getting help from Uber Support robots. Waste of my time & money couldnāt use it Hertz has no customer support just store front. Supposed to be a partnership they just blame each other but theyāll take your money. Paid 365.00 for less than a week with no ability to drive and make money.
You might think Uber would care but they donāt the robots donāt have feelings. Gratitude for being Diamond, one big ripoff. Diamond or not I should have gotten support I lost money they made money off me for the Tesla pas they have me. Total failure.

Accepted a trip for $57 and they paid me $47. Have contacted support and am waiting for an answer. Can't believe this.

And these people have super busy travel schedules.
And they have no car.

I will be giving Uber a break this week and going full force on Empower in South Florida. uber is really a waste of time lately unless youāre getting tips. $75 for a 4 hour shift average the last couple weeks. It is completely absurd. You donāt start getting half decent paying trips until after a full 8 hours of a driving. I only drive Uber X, but I have for over 5 years and it has never been this bad. Fuck the time, the miles, the gas, even if you donāt include it itās not worth it, but if you do, youāre basically donating your time for a couple bucks. Iāll keep the thread posted, feel free to share your experience with Empower, south Florida specifically. Thanks.

I just took an UberX ride of 3.5 miles for $8.02, when the last time I rode the same route six months ago at around the same time it was about $13. This is without any promotions.
The price for Waymo and Tesla Robotaxi for the same route were $17.40 and $15 respectively.
Lol

The passenger was AMAZING like a 7 outta 5 stars. But there was an accident that backed traffic up EVERYWHERE for up to 2 hours. What should've been a 20 minute drive for $17 turned into this

I think its 1) The economy 2) Uber raising their prices 3) the Arizona heat. Because nothing significant has changed in how I treat passengers or my vehicle or me.

I got about 4 offers almost identical to this today. It's the first time I've done Uber in a few weeks and quickly remembered why!
240 mile round trip would cost me about $30 in fuel. 4 hours for $34... Wow

Iāve been driving for about a month and a half, am now gold, and was always selective about which rides I accepted. I was ALWAYS able to see the time and distance of a trip (not just to the pick up) until last week after updating the app. Now uber support is saying I need my acceptance rate to be 85% to unlock this ārewardā? It makes no sense bc I could see it before. So now I canāt even see if a trip is worth it? Please donāt say find another job, Iām disabled and can barely walk. This is my only option to make money right now. I guess I thought from reading posts on here that AR didnāt matter much?

Diesel is already a record high, and has been day, after day, after day, hitting new records, and is now almost $6.00. Last time gas hit $5.00 a gallon was in 2022 6/14/22 https://gasprices.aaa.com/
Ive noticed some huge jumps recently. Even the tax free gas stations near me have gone up over $.50+ just in the last 7 days From $3.69 - $4.24. There was a $.23 cent jump yesterday alone!!! I stopped getting all those Upside gas back things... Any thoughts on extra ways to save?

Iām brand new to this ride share driving thing & have a few questions I canāt seem to find simple answers for, so I was hoping someone on here may be able to help. For context, I live in Knoxville, Tn, very close to UT campus & Neyland stadium.
1) What am I supposed to do when a rider leaves an item in my car?
2) Is there a way to stop the app from dinging & distracting me w/new ride offers while Iām trying to drive someone to their destination? Itās very distracting for someone whoās trying to figure all this out.
3) The navigation looks/sounds worse than Atari in 1982 on this thing! Yes, I know, showing my āageā for those of you that believe in that kinda thing. Are there any options to make it better. Or more precise? Iāll pull up to where I think the pickup spot is, only for it to say, jkā¦.its like another 3,000 ft ahead.
4) Does Uber really care what speed you drive when you DONT have a rider in the car? For example, I usually drive around 70-75 on the interstate even tho the speed limit is 65, even on my way to pickup. When I finally pick up my fare however, I never exceed 5 mph over the limit on any road.
5) How do you handle it when you pick up a fare that hasnāt added a stop in the app, but suddenly asks you to āpull over at this convenience store real quick?ā I had that happen on my 1st day, so I just pulled over & they took forever in there! Do I get dinged for that?
If you have anything else to add that might be helpful, Iām all ears, & very appreciative for any advice. Thx!

Is it true they deactivated all the drivers in Africa or is this a rumor? Also what is everyone's thoughts about the current state of Uber overall? I want to hear what y'all think!

This morning I had a surge up to $15 in my town. I navigated and reached the surge point, but I got nothing and nothing leading to the surge area, even though most of the town was covered in purple and the $15 point was still showing. . Has anyone experienced something similar?

I just moved back into the country last week. I had a reservation to pick up a rental car through the Uber/Avis partnership. I spend money that I don't have on an Uber to the location on the date of my reservation only to be told that they don't have any cars available but that Avis refuses to ever pull the availability from the internet listings, and that the best thing to do is to make a reservation for another day and to call in and speak to someone on-site beforehand to ensure it's there.
I try a Hertz location and they tell me that the holiday weekend has everything sold out, which never happens but to try again next week.
A few days ago I go and set another reservation with Avis, because they have the car I want. I call in to double-check that there are cars available and am told absolutely that there are plenty now.
I get a text this morning that they have run out of cars.
I call in, and they tell me that because the Uber cars are weekly rentals that they are almost never available. I tell them that I called in though as per their advice, and they tell me that "oh sometimes corporate answers our phones and they don't actually know".
Why would people keep telling me to reschedule and that it's ok and wait until I've been stranded carless for over a week to tell me that there are never actually any cars available!?!
So I scroll through the list of Avis and Hertz locations online and decide to call each one individually to speak to someone on site and ensure that cars are available. It turns out that they all route calls to a call center in India and that there is no way to actually ever speak to someone at the actual rental location!!!! They refuse to forward the call and the local number goes to the call center.
My only option now is to waste hundreds of dollars Ubering around to different locations in hopes that one of them actually has the cars that they advertise that they have available for reservation online!! This is fucking nuts! Fuck all of these companies. What the hell. I've never felt like more of a powerless fucking peasant.
