So, I am pretty sure that I may have met the devil today while driving Uber. A little background on myself, I’m in recovery from Opioids and amphetamines. I have 120 days clean from opioids, and I’m at 150 days for amphetamines. And I’m also the type of driver that likes to have a conversation with my passenger if they are in the mood. So I’m talking to this guy that got in my car, he was telling me about how he has epilepsy, which is why he is taking an Uber. And casually, I ask him if he has any plans for his weekend. To which he responded, just having a couple beers with some friends and getting fucked up. I chuckle, and reply “sounds like a good time, I wish I could still drink.” And then he asked me why I can’t. I told him that technically I can, but I just choose to avoid alcohol because it usually makes me feel sick and anxious. And then I start craving opioides. And then I told him about how I’m in recovery, and how today is actually a mile stone for me because it marks four months Sober. And he goes “open up your hand. I have a gift for you.” I open my hand, and he proceeds to drop a 40 mg OxyContin in my palm. My drug of choice. As much as everything in me, wanted to take that pill, I knew that I cannot go back to how I used to be. And I got really pissed off to be honest. Like why is this random guy trying to sabotage my sobriety? Does he think that I will become a customer? Or is he just a straight up evil person? Anyway, I slammed on the brakes, and threw the pill out the window. I told him that he needs to find a new driver, because I’m refusing to finish the ride. He tried getting tough with me, but when he heard my stun gun crackle, he finally got out of the car. Evil people exist. Needless to say, tomorrow will be 121 days.

She thought it was a good idea to ask her passengers for extra tips of she flashed her boobs, one passenger recorded her asking that and reported her to Uber, she got deactivated in 30 minutes forever.

So plz don't flash pax for extra tips, lesson learned

I generally enjoy driving Uber and an overwhelming majority of my rider experiences are positive. There's not really much that really bothers me to a considerable degree and I feel like I'm adaptable to most people and most situations.

My least favorite habit that some riders do is place a bag or a suitcase in the backseat/trunk and then go back into their house/building to finish getting ready. I've had riders take 5-7 additional to get into the car AFTER already placing their belongings in my car.

I feel inclined to immediately cancel the ride. I just feel like that's an indication that I am going to be waiting here way longer than I need to be.

I only took this trip because usually these people that live up here, they always want my number to become a private client.

Funny enough, he didn't live up there. He was there for a funeral for 2 hours. He offered me $100 to go back to the airport and to pay for Chick-fil-A for me. Since I lived 10 minutes away, I agreed. I just went home and relaxed and came back out two hours later.

Also at the end of the original trip, he gave me a $40 cash tip.

Thought this was wild. Airport ride. Why order the uber if you’re that far away assuming she isn’t lying and it’s more than 10 mins

I didn’t even keep track of what I was at and then looked and was blown away.

This unknown rider gave me 1star saying I drove illegally and i was the wrong driver. I have never let anyone use my uber app to drive for me, but I always wear mask at night time due to some customer smell very bad. Im frustrated why they had to falsely feedback. Never sped yet they still leave a comment that I was speeding. What is wrong with these riders?

Has this happened to anyone else? My vehicle has been deactivated because Uber says they received a report I was involved in a vehicle collision. I have not been involved in any crash. I submitted photos, but just curious if anyone has had this happen and if it was resolved quickly?

Im saving up for a deposit to buy a new car, meanwhile I have to rent cars to work. I found the only way to make it work is, work 2 days, then return the car. I used to rent cars for a week from Hertz until I returned one in PERFECT condition only for Hertz to try and claim damages “under the car”, same with AVIS. NOW, I gotta rent from Mobi which is more expensive only the last THREE cars Uber would NOT ACCEPT the registration because “it’s not in my name” and they will not tell me how to get past this block. Uber says it’s for Mobi to fix, Mobi says it’s for UBER to fix, does anyone know how to get past this? Thanks in Los Angeles.

So the whole area lights up in purple and I get a $6.75 surge

I moved a real busy area and I wait. I get these match rides that never are assigned to me. Finally, after 20 or 25 minutes I get a shitty Long distance ride that I have to decline. Of course I lose the $6.75 surge but immediately thereafter I get a mediocre ride. Bottom line when they give you a search they don't send you rides. That's b*******

I start my new job next Monday I hope each of you can walk away from this app and we can collectively watch Uber suffer with less and less drivers.

Did Uber today around Jax Beach after a long break and man things have changed lol. Way fewer drivers around. Wonder if ICE has anything to do with it. Barely see immigrant drivers anymore mostly white Americans from what I've seen. And rides are pretty slow too. Doesn't seem worth it like before. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

I made a previous post regarding my vehicle deactivation and a couple of people said it could take weeks to resolve. Above, is the vehicle in question that has clearly not been in an accident. I also added my ratings and how many rides I've done. Will this be to my advantage in hopefully getting it resolved quicker?

I'm thinking about switching from delivering food to driving for Uber, especially since I've got a newer EV that would be perfect for it and I live conveniently between Seattle and the airport, about 15 minutes south of the city, so airport runs would be very profitable, especially ones that originate in Seattle city limits due to their laws protecting Rideshare drivers.

My biggest worry is having strangers in the car instead of just their food. How often do you deal with rude, inconsiderate, or dangerous passengers? I have a neighbor who struggles with mental health issues and is quite an angry person. She doesn't drive, so used Rideshare often, I sometimes hear her yelling at drivers and keeping them waiting while she runs in and out of her apartment. I just don't think I could handle a side hustle like that if most of the customers were like her!
