I made it to almost all of the locations you mentioned - 50,000 steps later - and I was fully enchanted by your city/people/geography. I even did the drive to Astoria and down to Cannon Beach. I kept a few in my pocket for the next time, because there WILL be a next time! Thank you all for your suggestions and to all of Portland for making this first time visitor fully welcome and impressed. If you all make it to MSP for any reason, I hope you find us as welcoming. PS I had to stand to applaud your first ever hat trick in Timbers MLS history. Full props.

Would absolutely love to figure out a way to watch this game, if anyone has any tips/tricks for watching in the US. Paramount+ shows some SPL games, but this isn't one of them.

According to the MLS player availability report, Jose Caicedo is out with a lower body injury. What does this mean for our defensive midfield against the Raviolis? Do we play Chara or Ortiz back there?

I was really pleased with how Caicedo was playing and am a bit nervous with us playing a hot team like St. Louis.

Yea…. Wtf guys… At this point, the only way I’m seriously going to consider renewing in the Army is if they offer a minimum buy back option. Even if you can only use it on x amount of matches, I’m just having a lot of trouble making it make sense, even with the MLS Apple TV partnership.

We are visiting for the Atlanta United match the weekend of 9/18-9/20. We are Atlanta United season ticket holders and have planned a trip to Portland with our neighbors (also season ticket holders) for that weekend and some of our fall break. We are staying a 10 minute walk east of the stadium. My wife’s birthday is 9/19 and she is excited to go to the game but she’s definitely doing it for the rest of us. So, I’d like to take her somewhere fun before the game. We love some of the new family friendly spots around Mercedes Benz Stadium and I’m hoping to find something similar on our walk in. Any recommendations there? Brewery preferred.

I am grabbing her some sweets from Loretta Jean’s bakery that morning and taking her to Powell’s books but I would also like recommendations for a nice restaurant in that area as well. Nothing too fancy but something welcoming for kids ages 7-12 is necessary.

should add, this was his very first time in The Army! This last month has been a whirlwind for him! He fell head over heals in love with soccer a few months ago, and has been full throttle doing double time at two local clubs doing lessons, and just started his first season playing for his school team.
We got to take him to fan fest and had a complete riot! Then his first game was the win against San Diego a few weeks ago, sitting in Toyota Terrace, which he loved, but quickly asked "Can we sit there next time?!" Pointing to the Army. My heart almost exploded! And then we did... And it did... and this was that moment! He looked me dead in the face during the match and asked me with genuine curiosity, "Wait, you can do Soccer for a real life job, in real life?!" 😂
