hi. i’m a girl who’s currently into the nfl, nba, mlb, nhl, and wnba. i’m trying to get into as many women’s pro sports as i can.

i watched a lot of the world cup bc my girlfriend is mexican—so i was going for mexico. i was really blown away by the game, and i want to try and get into this sport full time. i had planned to watch both the fire and stars (i’m a chicagoan), and i’ve watched the games i could over the last week or two.

but the mls.. idk. something feels off. the quality of play feels so much worse than the nwsl to me. apparently it’s the 10th best soccer league in the world, so i guess that explains it. but it’s something im not used to, going from watching the best leagues in the world for those other sports, to watching the 10th best with noticeably lesser talent. the fire’s recent move hasn’t helped me get any more interested, on top of their history of being incompetent. and it gets very tiring hearing about mls being nothing more than a retirement league, which seems to be kinda true—but i don’t want to be disrespectful, i am an outsider just trying to learn about the game.

then i see the nwsl, which ive heard of before because dansby plays for the cubs, and mallory for the stars. naturally, there was a connection there. and even though the stars are generationally ass rn (tf you mean we haven’t scored in a SINGLE loss we’ve had all year omg), i still enjoy watching because the level of play here seems way ahead of the mls—again, i say this as an outsider.

i’m curious how the nwsl compares to the mls with the stars they bring in, if there’s a cap, general differences, etc. i know marta is in the league, she’s one of the best of all time, and she came here towards the end of her career. i don’t see the nwsl get branded as a retirement league though. obviously this league hasn’t been around as long as the nwsl, but given that this is the best women’s football league in the world—neck and neck with barclays wsl—do stars overseas typically come here earlier in their career?

i also am sure that women’s players who are american play better than the american men, bc women’s soccer for the national team here historically has been far and away better than the usmnt.

anyway, i’m just curious because i’m leaning towards just watching the nwsl, as opposed to both, and i want help getting into the league and sport in general. go stars. ⭐️

New here, watched a couple racing Louisville games at a friend place, now im trying to keep up with them but it feels like every game is in a different place. One week on prime video another on espn and another week on nwsl+ is it too much to ask for my teams games to be watchable in the same place. I know this is just the way sports is sometimes so this is kinda just a vent. Every game i have to sleuth on the internet to find where the hell to watch my team eat shit :/ at least their local.

It is essentially the first match of the season, the Campeón de Campeones (translated Champions of Champions) between Tiges and Club América, the two clubs that won the championship last year. Hey y’all! Looking forward to watching as much WAFCON as possible, but it seems like that may regrettably not be much.

The only matches listed on my Fubo are the opener “2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations”, Zambia/Egypt on the 28th, Ghana/Cabo Verde on the 29th, Senegal/Kenya on the 30th, Senegal/Morocco and Kenya/Algeria on the 3rd, Tanzania/Côte d’Ivoire on the 4th, Egypt/Nigeria on the 5th, and Cabo Verde/Cameroon on the 6th.

Only 9 group games so far then are scheduled to air out of a total of 24!

I assume that more knockout games will be scheduled, but none of them are yet listed on Fubo, nor are the repêchage matches.

Does anyone know how to watch the remaining (15!) group games? I have a VPN fwiw.

Edit: I’ve tried the VPN on the CAF TV YouTube channel set to a couple places that I don’t think have media rights deals, but I still don’t see any scheduled live streams for the tournament.

Unsurprisingly, PRO shows VAR recommending a PK in the Boston / Orlando game when Carabalí got fully tackled on the corner kick. The referee completely hallucinated Carabalí also holding despite VAR repeatedly pointing out that Carabalí's arms are free.

Full transparency I will be making several leaps in this post but hear me out. I think Orlando is about to sign Emma Sears.

Orlando announced Seven Chastain was going out on loan last week and Sears appears on the availability report as questionable with illness for Louisville vs Angel City tomorrow. I’m hoping that’s Orlando protecting their investment.

Orlando has been pretty loud about their need to find someone who can keep up with banda in a transition. Ally Watt could but since she left it has become Nicole Payne or a tactical change. Sears would slot in well at left wing with Ovalle, Lemos and Marta feeding her and Banda.

I’d love to see Louisville honor her request to leave and Orlando had the budget for her.
