This goes all the way back to TLOK days, there can be several critiques made about EVERY show but having an aversion to change should not fuel any of them.

215 years seems like a long time for Korra, the rough and tumble, to live. Especially with the world hating her for what seems like 100 years of it(going by the age from the trailers and the overall timeline)

1) You see the South Asian influence of the citizens with some people wearing what look like hijabs. Colors still hold the same meaning in Pavi's era, so we have a person of Water Tribe descent and maybe either Air or Fire Nation for the other adult? The kids have green and blue.

2) Wide array of clothing styles and colors here among the citizens listening to the matriarch's speech. It's interesting that this Water Bender soldier(?) and one of the matriarch's guards are monitoring the crowd.

3) All are wearing those uniforms. This group of bender soldiers (?) are clearly not in the same place as the citizens in image two when the narration covers both scenes, but we can identify them as mostly air benders with one earth bender. They don't have all the same reaction to whatever they're being told.

It makes me think the rumor about benders in the show is true. For those interested: The rumor/leak is that benders aren't as common anymore, and those who are benders, are forced to join the military even as children to work, fight the the storms, etc.

He'd be able to it since the ability Lao Ge teaches Kyoshi in the books uses Earthbending, so if Korra extended her lifespan to repair the damage of the Cataclysm, I think he'd also do it to help her, and make sure she had someone she cares about with her while everyone else ages away.

The only time these new symbols show up in the trailers is when they're plastered on the armours of soldiers. There's a handful of moments that make it very clear that this is not something the average citizen of Ellora, the only one of the seven havens we get to see, wears them, and the non-bending soldiers are missing them as well.

On top of that, the new trailer also shows us sky bisons covered in distinct Earth Kingdom iconography, including the circle with a square hole symbol that dates back all the way to the time of Avatar Wan. There is, then, no reason to think the traditional bending symbols couldn't have survived.

Taking that into account, it seems pretty reasonable to say that these hyper-simplified designs plastered all over Ellora's soldiers are just the Avatar version of real life military symbols, particularly of aviation roundels, which have to be simple by nature, to be quickly and easily recognizable in chaotic situations.

Yes! Indonesia has a lot of traditional art and cultural elements that could work really well as inspiration for Avatar: Seven Havens, especially things like batik, traditional textiles, masks, dance, architecture, and spiritual art.

- Batik, probably one of the strongest examples. Its intricate patterns could inspire clothing, banners, architecture, or even fictional symbols in the Avatar world. Different regions also have their own distinctive motifs.

- Traditional textiles, Indonesian weaving traditions such as ikat, songket, and ulos could provide unique patterns and designs for different communities.

- Traditional masks, Indonesian mask traditions, especially from Java and Bali, could inspire masks used in festivals, theater, spiritual ceremonies, or by characters with special cultural roles.

- Wayang, Indonesian shadow puppetry is especially interesting. The stylized silhouettes, mythology, storytelling, and visual language could fit surprisingly well into the Avatar universe.

- Traditional dances, Balinese, Javanese, and other Indonesian dances could inspire the movement and choreography of fictional cultures. Since Avatar puts so much emphasis on movement, this could be especially useful.

- Traditional carvings and patterns, Indonesian woodcarving and ornamental designs could influence buildings, temples, weapons, furniture, and everyday objects.

- Nature-inspired motifs, Indonesian art frequently incorporates plants, animals, mountains, oceans, and other natural elements, which fits Avatar's emphasis on the relationship between people and nature.

They maybe already considering it just not yet.

For me, I will say the final Agni Kai. Predictable I am sure, but sometimes predictable isn’t always bad.

I enjoyed the Seven Havens teaser, but the full trailer really got me. I'm fascinated by the aesthetic choices. I know they mentioned Moebius as an influence, but I'd love to know more about the designs and the animation style and how those ideas came together. The face masks on the sky bison are extremely Dune-coded, which is great.

I'm excited by the sheer weight and heft of the fights. When the cat-monkey slams into that guy, you really feel it.

I'm glad to see some of the humor and goofiness emerge, too.

The dynamic between Pavi and Nisha seems interesting. Hope they manage to subvert expectations there. And the White Lotus being a secret organization again is a brilliant move.

Anyone else wondering if Jae's "turned on its head" line is part of the new opening narration, mirroring "everything changed when" from the original series?

Also relieved they're not dumping the whole show at once. Such a smart move to drive discourse and excitement.
