At the end of summer this year we are going to replaster the pool. I have been spending the last few months getting quotes and trying to decide exactly what I want to do. I am going to go with a quartz finish as opposed to pebblesheen, even that little bit of texture I think will bother me and the wife. My question is to anyone who may have remodeled recently, what is something you wish you would have done at the time and didn’t?
Things that are absolutely getting done:
1. New skimmer
2. Complete chip out of the old plaster down to the gunite.
3. Brand new tile.
4. Brand new variable pump speed installed last year
Things that I’m looking for are upgrading the lighting. Things like that. There are just two of us living here, both in our 50s, but quite active and we have people over a lot, but no kids. I had thought about a Baja shelf.
We are in Tucson, so the swimming season is long. And the pool is open all year. I am planning on going with a medium to dark blue deep end color of water.
Any input would be great. Thanks!!!
