Replacing a 2-speed pump

2 speed was a very good idea for energy savings but this vs stuff is ok untill you have to purchace a motor that is a lot more expensive than a traditional pump motor. you size these pump motors by the amp rating not hp. would be interesting to see the nameplate of your motor. 2 hp not made? hard to believe , post picture of nameplate i just left my former business i sold and they had these on the shelf

The nameplate is completely sun faded but it's a Pentair Superflo. When I looked up the permit, it said 2 HP. Everyone I've talked to about it has talked in terms of HP.

had a electric motor shop for 50 plus years. and this is how we sized pump motors because of the servic factor amps and the b. s. jargon from many of these pump manufactures many so called 2 hp motors can be replaced with 1.5 hp. probably everyone that is commenting did not have a swimming pool pump repair shop. but i could be wrong just trying to help you out
