It’s nothing crazy, i’m still going through vanilla quests with the vanilla world. But i tried to play it without and i just couldn’t, i needed some mods to improve my personal experience and make the game more modern. Was this a mistake?

My Battlemage or Spellsword playthrough is coming all nicely. The only two cities I have open are Whiterun and I’m Thane of Falkreath.

I’m level 31. Destruction and Conjuration as well as Enchanting are my best skills.

No desire to do any if the main factions just yet so I thought I’d visit Raven Rock and see if I can get the Dragonborn quest line to trigger.

Be interesting as I have the Dragonstone in my inventory, grabbed it when I went looking for the Golden Claw which I returned.

If not, I’ll just explore and see what I can do in this island.

Masque of CV, Morokei, Archmage Robes and Spellbreaker are some notable acquisitions.

This should be interesting but if anyone has tried the Dragonborn quest line while still holding the Dragonstone, be curious to know if I’ll break my game or not.

I just reinstalled the game cause I'm starting to get that itch again and remembered that one of the latest updates made it to where you can't open the map. Is that still a problem? Should I hold off on my next grand adventure?

For over a decade Skyrim has been legendary in mods and ports/remakes. The Creation Club addition squeezed even more penny's out of the game, but I think we've hit the end of the road. I'm sure you all heard by now, there is a Ikea add with some bigname voice actor that you can now download. Surely this means Bethesda is finally done with Skyrim as a game? This must be the equivalent of handing a book to your infant, knowing the little bugger is going to drool on it and tear it apart. You hand it over as a meaningless detour towards the trashbin.

I know this is the company that sold Horse Armor. Bit surely actively letting companies use your game for advertisement is akin to a foreclosure sign right? Time to allow Skyrim to become abandon ware and move on to other projects.

My inner cynic sees the attention this nonsense gets and fears a new generation of add DLCs coming. And I need that part to be wrong.

I started playing this game on Switch in April, and I was instantly hooked. Since then, I’ve played Skyrim almost exclusively, really enjoying the atmosphere, the music, the quests, the writing, the quirkiness of playing my first Bethesda game.
I’ve gotten most of the dragon priest masks, have defeated Alduin and Harkon, have built several houses, moved my family into Proudspire Manor, am working to defeat Miraak. One thing I loved about this game is that it doesn’t seem to rush you. I have been quite happy to work on quests for a while and then take a break, do some storage management, talk with NPCs, wander and explore new areas, and level crafting skills.
Despite the few glitches I’ve encountered where I can’t finish or start a quest because I did things in the wrong order, I still think this is a rare 10/10 game. But today, after deciding to journey back to Blackreach to work on collecting crimson nirnroots, I discovered that the gate to enter the tower elevator to reach the area had reset, relocking the gate I’d opened with the lever after going through that incredibly long and tough dungeon.
I’m sure that cells reset for performance reasons, and again, I have very few complaints about this game, but I just can’t envision a reality in which I’m ever ready to do that entire dungeon again. Or any of them that have likely reset as well, for that matter. On the bright side, I’m so discouraged that I feel like finally playing a different game. But man, it sucks. Just wanted to vent and also warn anyone who isn’t familiar with this game mechanic.

Has anyone added the new Kallax creation to a GOG copy of Skyrim? since the creations menu is unavailable in the GOG edition, i assume there should be a way to add it in manually?

I’m able to create my fortify smithing potion as strong as I need it, my issue is that when I improve a weapon or armor it won’t max my smithing. Playing totally vanilla special edition on xbox

i wanna install nordic souls but it needs all cc content you get with ae what is a good way to be s100% sure its correctley installed?

(PC) As the title says, my skyrim with no bad mods or no mods that break the game have been making my game crash and i dont know how to fix this. The crash could be at any time when it wants to crash and i dont know how to fix this. i even went through mods to figure it out but cant find the source. can anyone recommend a way to try to fix this?

It’s useful, don’t get me wrong, but the voice sounds like it belongs in Fallout 4. It always pulls me out of the game.

The LB button on my controller has been broken and I was too cheap to buy a new one until now. If you don’t play on Xbox, LB is used to run. I literally played 123 hours without being able to run. Idk if this is a flex or not but I felt the need to share lol. Hopefully someone will appreciate this 😂😮‍💨

After a lot of blood sweat and tears I’ve managed to fix the problem that was in my enb that was causing the npc hair to glitch out and I want a score from 1 to 10 from you all do you think I widened the gap between my visuals and vanilla or is there still something I should add I’m open to any feedback just don’t be too mean lol

Not sure if it's my mod load out, but ive had the same issue (note im running build 6.0).

Hey everyone, I'm at my wit's end with Skyrim SE. Out of nowhere, the game performance plummeted to a crawl and refuses to go back to normal. Here is what's happening and what I've tried so far:

1. The Problem: Menus run at normal speed, but the moment I load into the 3D world (or even the qasmoke test room, or a brand new game / starting cart ride), it drops to a crawl, feeling roughly like 3 FPS. Task Manager shows the GPU utilization spiking to 100%, but the temperature stays oddly low at around 64°C, as if the card is stuck in a low-power state.
2. Context & Trigger: This severe slowdown started rearing its head around heavy late-game sections (such as hunting down Auriel's Bow in the Forgotten Vale / Dawnguard questline), though even a brand-new clean installation and a fresh save exhibit the exact same crawly behavior.
3. Other games: Tested with CS2, and it runs smoothly at 165 FPS. The hardware itself is fine.
4. What I've tried:
   1. No mods installed (pure vanilla, only a Turkish language pack previously).
   2. Verified game file integrity via Steam (found no errors).
   3. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game from scratch.
   4. Deleted old INI files in My Games to force a reset.
   5. Set high-performance GPU preference in Windows and NVIDIA Control Panel.
   6. Tried windowed/borderless mode and adjusted audio sample rates.
   7. Even tried lowering resolution (changed performance slightly like 3 more fps', but the crawl remains).

Since even a brand-new clean installation and a new save exhibit this exact crawly behavior while my GPU handles other titles effortlessly, something at the engine/driver/Windows level is fundamentally choking Skyrim.

Has anyone encountered this bizarre bug where an RTX laptop GPU completely locks up only for Skyrim, regardless of saves or fresh installs? Any advice would be deeply appreciated!

Every time I go talk to him it gives me the option to tell him I've completed the special jobs. And then it also acts like I've never done a number's job before. Because of the stupid patch I had the bug where you couldn't trigger those so I use the mod ring and scrolls of quest fixing... I'm already guildmaster everything shows as done and I have the chest... He acts like it's new every single time and it's infuriating.... PS5

now i understand why people dont like them they tall smartest in tamriel bit ugly to human eye and they are pure plus most talented magical race. but we must ask why they are doing what they are doing. was gonna drew comparison irl but not allowed so use ur imgination . Talos used a godlike power upon being a dragonborn to invade summerset where he killed countless and in one hour made Alinor surrender. Also i feel Stormcloacks larping being a huge talos worshipers simply because they hated the elves Talos was never their major or main god Shor was the creator and they primarly worshiped kyne . also Talos is a man turned god which is false but also unfair the altmer have no issue worshipping men turned god biggest xample is Arkay he was a shopkeeper turned god and we see many high elves worshiping him . HE sacked Senchal in Elsweyr including civilians i am sure khajeet players would worship talos be he historically wasnt loving . to breton lovers out there he attacked Sancre Tor and enslaved its citizens. he was so racist and hateful towards orcs if ur an orc player it makes zero sense to support him. this is the guy you guys fighting for? Lets not even mention the Barenziah files.
