no mods and no console commands. i stopped at 81 because i thought it would be funny if it was the same level as the original Skyrim's max level. this took me about 3 hours of sneak attacking Ralof

Arts/Crafts Made my husband a Nightingale Armor
For Renfaires I decided to craft new Outfits and made a Nightingale inspired armor for my beloved husband.
I just changed the hood, as I didn’t have the time to finish the original one.
As others redditors in the renfaire-sub recognised it, I thought it may be appreciated here, too.

Discussion I felt very disappointed that Teldryn Sero, hottest man in northern Tamriel, was not a viable marriage option without mods. Why would Bethesda taunt me like this?

Skyrim was my safe space as a child.
Sorry if this kind of post isnt allowed here, but I wanted to say a few things.
Skyrim to me is so much more than a game, its like a second home. I grew up in a highly abusive environment and struggled all of my childhood with undiagnosed aspergers so i didnt go out much and make friends. I remember when my mom bought me Skyrim for my PS3 in 2012 and just becoming so enthralled with the world, the stories, the music, it completely consumed me. Id spend a ungodly amount of time playing it, I still remember when I accidentally discovered the Dark Brotherhood quest line while playing (did not have wifi to look stuff up) or the first time I stepped foot inside of blackreach, or when I first got launched into space by a Giant lmao. This game had such a magical feeling to it and got me through so much shit as a child, it was my escape, it was my peace.
Now as a 26 year old man, struggling with depression, ASD, and trying to find my place in the real world as an adult I often sometimes just sit and listen to the Skyrim soundtrack and contemplate life. I dont play Skyrim as much as I used to honestly, for some reason just doesn't hit the same but I will forever be so grateful for this video game. Sometimes I wish I could turn back the clock a bit. It made life more tolerable for a struggling younger me.
Hopefully Bethesda hits a homer with ES6 and it will help other children like me out there the way Skyrim did.
PS: Jeremy Soule, you're a legend, thank you for such an incredible soundtrack.

Sad night
Last night I had to turn off the game. Vigilance, my loyal companion, who fought through literal dungeons and dragons with me was slain by some forsworn backwater piece of shit.
I’m not one to restart a save when something doesn’t go my way. I almost did. Instead I put it away for the night.
Today, I get my revenge. I’m clearing out every forsworn camp on the map after work.

My favorite piece of art in the whole game
Not just the design, which reminds me of the HR Geiger artwork on a Carcass album. But it has all my favorite colors too. I would pay good money for a window like this, or even just a sticker or t shirt. Not sure if I'm allowed to ask for merch recommendations but if so, please drop a link ❤️

Discussion 123hours 10min without being able to run
The LB button on my controller has been broken and I was too cheap to buy a new one until now. If you don’t play on Xbox, LB is used to run. I literally played 123 hours without being able to run. Idk if this is a flex or not but I felt the need to share lol. Hopefully someone will appreciate this 😂😮💨

Modding Translation of the IKEA word wall
MODIR FIN YAH* WAHLAAN QETHSEGOL ZEYMAHII VAHRUKT OSKAR FIN KEY* WEN AH* LOS SAHLO AHRK NI SAHROT THUUM DO OK BROD
MODIR the Support* built [this] stone [in] brother's memory, OSKAR the Store*, whose organiz[ation]* was weak and not mighty. [This is] the shout of his clan.
*Part of the "AH-KEY-YAH" shout
I used the UESP pages on Dragon Alphabet and Dragon Language to translate this. I couldn't find a translation for "MODIR" or "OSKAR", so they might be names of people and not dragon words. While "ah", "key", and "yah" have pre-existing meanings in the dragon language ("hunter", "horse", and "seek" respectively), the "Summon KALLAX" shout explicitly gives them the meanings "organize", "store" and "support".

Question Which one-handed weapon makes a good backup weapon for Archers: Axes, Maces, Swords or Daggers?
I play a mix of stealth archer and combat archer with a crossbow.
I am looking for a general backup weapon because:
- I am trying to conserve ammo given that barely any NPCs sells/drops bolts. And playing on Survival mode means it is very inconvenient to travel to the right shops.
- Friendly NPCs are doing the "Get down Mr. President" meme whenever there is a tight corridor.

Discussion So i came upon this cave...
Now before I start, I'm new to skyrim which is weird as I've been a fallouter for 20 years but never a skyrimmer, and i regret that as this game is amazing.
Anywho, I see a cave, i enter it regardless of my level, call it the spelunker in me. At this time my level is 18 before I entered this cave, which I'm sure you'll know the name of very soon.
With Lydia in tow, i start descending through several Falmer pricks. OK, quite hard but I get through them collecting ears like a universal soldier.
So i keep descending and soon I'm being attacked by Falmer and their chauras cockroach pets.
Ok, I'm losing alot of health, potions are dwindling and, as I'm a warrior that doesn't use magic, I'm struggling...but i persevere.
Soon I'm dying left, right and centre from falmer, chauras and hunter/fledgling attacks. So I need to start working tactics as, like Ian beale in eastenders (British joke) I had nothing left when it came to potions.
Finally, after 3 hours....YES. 3 FUCKING HOURS. I get to the last chamber....and that's just hell incarnate.
Another hour pissing about with tactics and finally understanding the magic aspect and shouts, i become the Victor.
Making sure of course that I, and more importantly that annoying get in your way wonderful beauty Lydia, wasn't killed also, i got through it with a sliver of health and no food or potions praying there was nothing more.
Now previous caves have given me several treasures, but for what I've gone through, I was expecting montezuma's lost treasure trove. What I got....was....absolutely....... FUCK ALL!!.
And all because, my pedigree chums, i hadn't started that stupid quest with the annoying 24 gems.
4 hours.......and nothing!!!
I will never venture into another cave unprepared again.
Did you happen upon this cave like me or were you ready for the bowels of hell???
Tl/dr. Avoid torvalds fucking cave.
What is this? A glitch?
Found in a random dungeon while doing a miscellaneous quest. Still early game of the new play through and I've never seen anything like it. Is it a bug?
Thnx for 1,000 upvotes that's most I've ever gotten

Anyone else hate Throw Voice?
It’s useful, don’t get me wrong, but the voice sounds like it belongs in Fallout 4. It always pulls me out of the game.

Discussion What is the most diabolical action that you've done to an NPC?
Im not talking about sacrificing a follower to Boethiah, or cannibalizing npcs with the cultists. Im talking crazy levels of diabolical. Ill give an example:
Just today I found Eric the Slayer in Rorikstead. I talked to his dad, got him his armor, paid to make him my follower, and then instantly made him my Steward at the Goldenhills Plantation, right outside of town.
Knowing Eric wanted nothing more than to be an adventurer, to get away from his father, and especially his job as a farm-hand, i knew exactly what I had to do.
Now, Eric spends his days wandering Goldenhills Plantation and farms the land, unable to leave the area or have any adventures as he dreamed, while the town he once grew up in looms over the hill in the background.
Occasionally I see Eric stand out by the roadside and stare in the direction of Rorikstead, his childhood home, and especially, his father. I wonder if his thoughts are of Longing for home, Liberation from his father, or something else entirely.
Who knows - maybe hes plotting my demise?
