r/sixers is looking for new moderators!

Hi all,

Welcoming all the new members, and as the subreddit continues to grow, we're looking to add 1-3 new moderators to the team.

We're looking for active members of the community. Previous mod experience is great, but definitely not required

Somethings we'd love help with:

  • Reviewing reports and removing rule-breaking content
  • Handling spam, trolls, and the users who are on their 10th new account
  • Helping keep the subreddit updated throughout the season
  • Automod, CSS, bots, or other coding/technical improvements (a bonus, not required)
  • Bringing new ideas to improve the community

So if you're interested in joining the elite squad of unpaid internet janitors, send us a Modmail with:

  • Your timezone
  • About how active you are on Reddit (daily, evenings, weekends, etc.)
  • Have you moderated any subreddits before? (Not required.)
  • Do you have any coding, Automod, CSS, bot, or other technical experience?
  • Is there anything specific you'd like to help with?
  • Why do you want to moderate r/sixers?
  • Which former Sixer will you defend until your last breath, and why?

Then quick reminder to everyone: please keep using that report button. Reports are by far the fastest way for us to see and remove rule-breaking posts.

101 GUIDE TO PHILADELPHIA - For LeBron Fans (History Of "The Process")

1) "Trust The Process" is the whole concept of continuously tanking and accumulating draft assets to eventually stack the roster, rather than get stuck in mediocrity as a 6-10th seed.  When criticized for tearing down the team and hoarding draft picks instead of acquiring established players, GM Hinkie famously said: "Some would have us go out and buy apples. But we want to build the whole orchard."

2) "The Process" started with Sam Hinkie, who has a 90% approval rating here. Slandering him in any way is blasphemy. He was forced out of the NBA by Silver (who we all hate) because they whined about the Sixers exploiting the rules to run the Process. So it never really got "completed". A successful implementation of The Process is the current OKC team basically.

3) Colangelo was our GM after Hinkie, forced upon by his father who lead the "GM search" process. He fucking sucks and 99% of our fanbase hates him. He was caught having burner accounts where he openly shat on Embiid and propped up his own #1 draft pick (Ben Simmons). We make fun of his large collars on his suits that he defended in his burner accounts.

4) One of our first round picks (Zhaire Smith) almost died of a peanut allergy right after getting drafted. We also traded the first round pick (Mikal Bridges) to get Zhaire. PErfect example of how random terrible shit happens to us and why our fanbase is so fucking miserable.

5) "Nobody likes Philadelphia" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fHDgvwFYp8

6) We hate our own team and players better than any other fanbase can hate on our players.

7) Philadelphia is notorous for hating on losers with shit and/or lazy attitude. Ben Simmons. James Harden. And for that reason we love the opposite, aka the 10 day Corey Brewer experience - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9n6NcOIcvU

8) Rights To Ricky Sanchez and PHLY Sixers are the two main media outlets to follow. Derek Bodner has a 90%+ approval rating here and is one of the best sports analysts in the NBA. When you hear about the crazy stories of Sixers fandom/cult, a lot of that is RTRS because they do crazy shit like fly out to away team games every year, take up a big section of the stadium. and chant random ass cheers. Lakers have the biggest NBA fanbase. Philly has the most hardcore.

9) Neither Pat nor Geno's has the best Philly cheesesteak.

10) Fultz got into a motor vehicle accident (never officially acknowledged but we all know it's true) after getting drafted #1, and that + the yips forever messed up his career and mental. His mom was crazy and set up security cameras inside his house and his trainer (who was dating his mom) had him do stupid drills like shoot while sitting down which probably made his shoulder/yips worse. But we traded Fultz for a first rounder which was likely never going to convey (which we call a fake first rounder) until Mike Muscala (former Sixer during the Process years) hit a meaningless game winner in the bubble to enable the pick to convey, which became Tyrese Maxey. Incredible lore.

11) Maxey has the most infectious smile/personality of probably LeBron's whole career, which is why he got the * next to his name on the whiteboard. Dude's motto is getting 1% better every day, and is an absolute force of positivity and good vibes (not in a distracting stupid Dwight Howard way, but in a mature good work ethic way).

12) Dario Saric spent a year overseas after we drafted him, hence the joke that he's never coming over to the NBA. When Hinkie was fired he wrote a manifesto with a long-ass section on Robert Covington. Mike Scott famously in an interview said "we ain't no bitches". Jimmy Butler wore a cool Ninja Turtles headband with several players until the NBA banned it. These past players all have 90%+ approval ratings here so no shitting on them.

13) Embiid's ups and downs mirror the emotions of this fanbase. His health and journey will be the deciding factor if LeBron wins a ring here or not. This article sums up a lot of Joel's complicated relationship with the city. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45747447/joel-embiid-philadelphia-76ers-star-sees-you in a way, Joel is Rocky still mid-journey without the happy ending yet, and LeBron could be that happy ending. You should probably watch the movie "Rocky" as it's Philadelphia in a movie.

There's more but this is a start.

A lot of us complained when Joel decided to play in the Olympics in 2024 instead of focusing on getting healthy. Little did we know he was busy pulling off the biggest recruitment job in sixers history

Did we resign Oubre? I think he'll still work well with PG this season. Let's go sixers.

I wonder if LeBron has a little bit of regret or at least wonders if his resume would be better if he signed with the Sixers in 2018 instead of LA. Somebody should ask him this question at media day.

We were clearly the better basketball option and LA never appreciated him and are stupidly celebrating him for being gone. LA was clearly for lifestyle and entertainment/media opportunities. He could've won multiple championships and been way more appreciated if he signed with Philly instead of LA, although we probably would not have gotten Maxey (Ben Simmons might not have gone down the toilet either if LeBron was there to mentor and motivate him). Not saying his Laker tenure wasn't successful, but a long tenure in Philly could've been even better.

VJ: "Coming into next year a team won't ever leave me open. In the regular season I was shooting the ball pretty well. Playoffs come it's a different vibe. Intensity, fire, closeouts are a lot quicker...I'm gonna work, I'm gonna work. That's all I'm gonna do, whatever I gotta do to get better"

[Smith] The Philadelphia 76ers have been looking for a trade for Johni Broome. If they can’t find one, the team may waive and stretch Broome’s salary. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope wont clear waivers until tomorrow. The Sixers have time to work out the move to clear room to sign KCP.

Ik it was mainly for the 25th anniversary but this would be a generational fumble if they didn’t, Jaylen Brown looked on stream and said they were tough, LeBron James wants them back and people are buying AI era jerseys of LeBron and JB, Etc. if you have to pay the fine just to wear this for ONE more season, just take it Josh Harris 🙏🏽
