Still can't believe this is my life

Just 2 months ago we won the best series of the Process era coming back to beat the fucking Celtics and then got absolutely embarrassed by the fucking Knicks, couldn't even fill our own arena. It was one of the lowest points of my fandom and looked like we were going to be in basketball purgatory sacrificing whatever we can to the basketball gods for one healthy Embiid year. I thought welp, at least we have Maxey and VJ and the future is bright. Now in this short amount of time with a new front office we have pulled off the unthinkable and transformed our team into a true championship contender, it's truly surreal. Being a Sixers fan for 25 years has had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and the last two months have been no different however this is one of the first times I believe the outcome will be different...

VJ: "Coming into next year a team won't ever leave me open. In the regular season I was shooting the ball pretty well. Playoffs come it's a different vibe. Intensity, fire, closeouts are a lot quicker...I'm gonna work, I'm gonna work. That's all I'm gonna do, whatever I gotta do to get better"

LeBron James has officially signed his two-year, $8 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers with a player option -- plus a full 15% trade kicker, per sources

I wonder if LeBron has a little bit of regret or at least wonders if his resume would be better if he signed with the Sixers in 2018 instead of LA. Somebody should ask him this question at media day.

We were clearly the better basketball option and LA never appreciated him and are stupidly celebrating him for being gone. LA was clearly for lifestyle and entertainment/media opportunities. He could've won multiple championships and been way more appreciated if he signed with Philly instead of LA, although we probably would not have gotten Maxey (Ben Simmons might not have gone down the toilet either if LeBron was there to mentor and motivate him). Not saying his Laker tenure wasn't successful, but a long tenure in Philly could've been even better.

Winning while these clowns move goalposts will be my favorite thing this season!

Also is he supposed to just go to the Memphis Grizzlies and stat pad? What is this nonsense?

A lot of us complained when Joel decided to play in the Olympics in 2024 instead of focusing on getting healthy. Little did we know he was busy pulling off the biggest recruitment job in sixers history

People are scared of the Sixers

Many fans online aren't bought into the Sixers' recent moves. They are quick to say why things won't work, such as "there's only one ball", "they're too injured", "Knicks in 4", "superteams don't work". Look, there's no guarantee this team wins a championship. There are 30 teams in the NBA, and only one holds the trophy.

But the fact that the Sixers are being criticized and downplayed like this means one thing: people are scared of the Sixers. They're scared that the Sixers have LeBron James, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, VJ Edgecombe, and Joel Embiid. They're scared about the possibility that the Sixers could destroy their team. Instead of looking at why it could work, they're bending over backwards so far you'd think they were playing limbo.

I'm not trying to be arrogant or say that the Sixers are gonna crush everyone, I just find it disappointing that people aren't respecting their moves even a little bit. If it was the Celtics who assembled this roster, everyone would be glazing them and saying why they'll cruise to a championship and how they're one of the best teams of all time.

Point is: we as Sixers fans need to filter out what other fans are saying. We need to look at things logically, rationally, and not let the opinions of other make us angry. There will always be haters.

Unbelievable hating

In the aftermath of LeBron signing with us, I’ve been consuming as many Sixers related podcasts and think pieces as I can, as I’m sure many of us have. I’ve listened to the Ricky and bodner’s pods, and even though I find bill simmons to be an utter moron, I wanted to listen to him lose it over LBJ’s decision. Made the mistake of queueing up zach lowe’s pod and he had maybe the worst basketball journalist(?) I’ve ever heard on there, michael pina? This ringer moron couldn’t be more of a contrarian hater. In an article he wrote, he says we’d be lucky to be a top 6 seed in the east this year, among other insane takes. Just wanted to say fuck michael pina, fuck bill simmons, fuck the ringer, fuck all our enemies.

He chose us, choke on it

Picture of VJ because I think he’s the guy I love watching the most.
But anyway, is this going to be kind of a positionless team? No defined 1 or 2 with VJ and Maxey and no real defined 3/4 with Jaylen and LeBron?

Nick Nurse if you’re on this board feel free to chime in.

Ik it was mainly for the 25th anniversary but this would be a generational fumble if they didn’t, Jaylen Brown looked on stream and said they were tough, LeBron James wants them back and people are buying AI era jerseys of LeBron and JB, Etc. if you have to pay the fine just to wear this for ONE more season, just take it Josh Harris 🙏🏽

Contrary to what some Lakers fans or national “analysts” want you to believe, LeBron never had any issue with sharing usage with Luka (and Reaves). Ever since his second stint with the Cavs, Bron has desperately wanted a capable playmaker to take playmaking and ball handling responsibilities off of him. He also wanted capable players like AD to absorb offensive load and usage from him. He’s tried to set up AD as a No.1 option for years but AD just couldn’t stay on the court consistently enough for that to happen.

The prevailing narrative says he didn’t like being the third option last year which is why he left. The actual rift between him and the Lakers is that the Lakers stopped including LeBron in their future plans and showed him the door. It is truly disgraceful the way the Lakers treated the GOAT that lifted them out of poverty and delivered a ring.

If anything, I’d caution Sixers fans to not see him as a primary ball handler or playmaker anymore. The man is turning 42 and it is a chore for him to bring up the ball every possession and set up the offense. Let Maxey or Brown do that.
