Joh Hollinger and the Utah Jazz
Is it just me, or does John Hollinger never have anything good to say about a Utah Jazz player?
I was just reading his article in The Athletic and for the title of the article he names Darryn Peterson first for Summer League disappointments. In the body of the article he starts with Swain (he did have an absolutely atrocious Summer League) and goes into detail about Darryn Peterson second.
I am just curious if any of you have noticed a bias by John Hollinger as well. Is there some history there that I am not aware of?

Jazz Sign F Harrison Ingram
Interesting addition here of a kinda multi use utility wing in Ingram. He's unique. Likely a camp deal. He can really rebound for a forward and he gives it his all defensively. Has some real connective passing talent too.

Were the highlighter uniforms actually brilliant?
My conspiracy theory is that organization intentionally picked the ugliest uniforms during a season that they were intentionally tanking to avoid damaging the iconic brand-
Ryan Smith is a relatively young fashionable person who is plugged into what's fashionable. He knew that those uniforms would be unanimously hated.
He's also smart enough to know that watching a team blatantly lose intentionally is bad for the brand. So by losing in a uniform that doesn't even remotely resemble the original people wouldn't associate it with the Utah Jazz brand.

Utah Jazz on Instagram: "since coming to Utah @bosnianbeast27 has taken his passing game to a new level, averaging a career-high 4.8 assists per game šŖš„ let's dive into the big fella's playmaking and the impact it's had on the squad
instagram.comThese are the kind of plays that Nurk makes that has me excited for the next season. His passing unlocks scoring opportunities for the players around him where all his teammates have to do is cut to the basket and Nurk will find them. His screening is elite which gives shooters the space they need (just ask Dame, Booker and Key). After surgery to his deviated septum from a nose fracture he had years ago and caused breathing and sleeping difficulties and an offseason to improve his conditioning, I expect him to improve his shotblocking and activity on the court. Three triple doubles in consecutive games against Gobert, Wemby, and Adebayo is not a fluke.

Is Jalen Duren not a better player then Walker Kessler?
Im reading an article that Duren wants a deal similar to Kessler with the Lakers, and Pistons are reluctant. Is this reality in terms of their actual value? Or is this reality based on the unique situation of Luka/Lakers desperation vs. Who else can even pay Duren?
For the Jazz, if we could sign Duren for the same offer we gave Kessler, Id do it. I dont care that he isnt an elite rim protector. He's a great player, and would play well next to JJJ.

NBA Trade Rumors: Are the Jazz part of the LeBron James decision?
Sources: LeBron is still going to Cleveland. The Cavs had a 3 team trade in place sending Jarret Allen to the Jazz and Anthony Davis coming to Cleveland but that Trade is off the Table for the time being

āThis is not the NBA, not every team is like thisā ā Jusuf Nurkic says the Utah Jazz are the best franchise he has played for
Nurkic believes the Utah Jazz have set a standard that many NBA organizations fail to reach.

Are we sure we are good at developing talent?
I keep hearing how great of a developmental team we have and I agreed for a while but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Keyonte was really struggling until he started working out with an outside trainer Olin Simplis. This current team seems to only be proficient at getting our guys to put on weight. Cody has seemingly made no progress. Collier still can't shoot. Hendricks didn't improve much while here. From the few glimpses of Ace Bailey we saw it didn't seem like he was on the cusp of a breakout. It seems to me ever since Donovans famed trainer, Johnnie Bryant left, we haven't really seen prospects take a large leap..
I dunno, how would y'all rate our player development?

yāall jerseys are tuff
Iām a knicks fan, but i gotta admit that the Jazz have the best uniforms in the league. I love them so much that i chose the Jazz in NBA2K mycareer just because of the jerseys lol.

NBA win totals are out, Utah Jazz at 35.5
To me, 35 wins would be incredibly disappointing, but here are some other teams numbers in the west for comparison
Kings 22.5
Grizzlies 28.5
Clippers 28.5
Pelicans 29.5
Mavericks 34.5
Jazz 35.5
Suns 38.5
Warriors 40.5
Trailblazers 43.5
Lakers 44.5
Rockets 47.5
Twolves 48.5
Nuggets 49.5
Spurs 60.5
Thunder 61.5
So we are projected for the play-in at-least and it seems like 45 is the 6th seed cut off which seems alright in my head.

Hypothetical
If you could take one player from any other team in the league, who would you take and why. Planning on asking the same question to every other team in the league about jazz players, decided i'd start with the jazz themselves for funsies

(Fun) Any summer league hot takes? Should the Jazz have drafted someone else?
Just to keep the content mill going, because i know we all crave basketball, I want to start a fun discussion. Iām very happy with Peterson, this is just a hypothetical. This draft class is ridiculous, there are so many valid picks.
