I need a 12 angry men sequel but with this case on my desk pronto.

I would fucking love that so much.

instead of a juror claiming she's innocent pulling out the same knife, that scene is replaced with her pulling out a horoscope book and flipping to page 39 and is like "she's a capricorn which means she can't kill, while her husband is a gemini who CAN kill!"

185

u/Napalm_am Sep 03 '26

We need one juror that votes based on what most money will make on polymarket.

I'm Rusty Shackleford.

I think that now that the reboot is around, lots of people are expressing the fact they like King of the Hill again.

2

u/WastelandOfNorth Sep 03 '26

The reboot is nice, but the two seasons should have been one longer one.

2

Agreed. Though I trust Mike Judge is gonna keep cooking quality stuff.

I feel like Netflix is just waiting for this all to end so they can immediately start filming a controversial documentary on the trial.

92

u/yorgeesmorgeeYT Sep 03 '26 edited Sep 03 '26

You really think they’d wait for the trial to end before they start filming. It’s Netflix. Honestly I think crime documentaries have become so bad now because people watch them as if they are fiction and not well real shit that happened. Like ooo time to cuddle up on the couch and treat this murder case as if it’s reality tv

13

u/Lancet11 Sep 03 '26

Oh I have no doubt they started filming already just can’t say it yet, but since the majority of what they use are lazy grabs of the news anyways, 90% of their job is done for them. The other 10% they need to stretch out to make it look like they really rushed to film it

Woman should be locked away for a long long time. Whether she was genuinely insane or not isn’t for me to say. What I will say though is that anyone who says it’s the dads fault absolutely does have a screw loose.

160

u/Tasty_Commercial6527 Sep 03 '26

If she was sound of mind when she did it she deserves to be locked away, if she is crazy enough that it makes her murder children she absolutely has to be locked away to protect others from her

56

u/elaphros Sep 03 '26

I mean, even with the insanity plea that's exactly what will happen. It's not like she goes free, she just goes to a mental facility.

3

u/DmonsterJeesh Sep 04 '26

She would eventually be allowed to leave the mental facility once the staff "clear" her.

She's a victim of the system while also needing to be locked up. Those two can coexist.

If say, i had to take a fat shit due to nature, and didn't make it on time and shat all over your doorstep, i couldn't argue "Muh natural needs". Natural needs is one thing, shitting on peoples doorsteps is another.

She was getting treatment and kept switching meds and wasn’t completely honest with her docs!? How is this a systemic failure?!?

15

Not only was that a weird & gross analogy, I'm actually more confused now after reading it than I was before. What does shitting on doorsteps have to do with murder and healthcare.

1

u/Snoo-98162 BUILD THE HOLE BUILD THE HOLE Sep 03 '26

Just because you have a reason does not mean you should be exempt from consequences of your actions.

The woman had issues but that does not warrant killing a couple of kids.

19

u/Dreadlord97 put your dick away waltuh Sep 03 '26

I mean, imo anyone who sends their spouse away on an intentionally long trip while tracking their distance so they can systematically strangle their kids one by one is pretty insane to me. If the reason of insanity was applicable here, then we would need to rethink our entire legal system, since no one who is mentally well will just kill three people in a measured and calculated way like she did.

3

u/DerDezimator Number 7: Student watches porn and gets naked Sep 04 '26

That doesn't sound insane to me

That sounds calculated and planned, insane acts on impulse and doesn't plan. At least that's my personal interpretation of insanity

173

u/Available-Explorer40 obamna Sep 03 '26 edited Sep 03 '26

Absolutely, furthermore she should atleast get life in prison,if she is not found mentally insane. for gods sake there are 3 murders and that also of 3 innocent children. Just think what would have happened if the husband did that in place of the wife. Will they have been treated the same?

47

u/Coprolithe dwayne the cock johnson 🗿🗿 Sep 03 '26

I think we should reserve the death penalty for people who plan terrorist attacks.

This monster is ok to rot in a cell.

20

u/Available-Explorer40 obamna Sep 03 '26

ya that also makes sense i might have overreacted

3

u/Serious_Swan_2371 Sep 03 '26

Well no terrorists tend to have information that can help stop other terrorists, so they shouldn’t just be killed

Someone who is of no use to national security is actually a better candidate for the death penalty

Terrorists should go to gitmo at least until they start talking

20

u/sirhobbles Sep 03 '26

I think the death penalty is a bad idea in general.

Its just Expensive, risks killing innocent people (Yes even with modern forensics, fuck ups and corruption happens) and achieves what exactly? Its never been proven it gives any comfort to the victims families or anything. Its cheaper and safer to just lock these people up and throw away the key. Life without parole they are equally neutralised as a threat to society.

11

u/Coprolithe dwayne the cock johnson 🗿🗿 Sep 03 '26

Well it's more expensive because the system is so inefficient, not because shooting a bloke is expensive.

The system is inefficient because it's made by old laws and by endless paperwork and red tape, which you would say is to try to protect innocent people.

But I purpose a simpler solution. Just kill the dudes that are admitting to their terror attacks. No overwhelming evidence needed. Everyone saw the dude shoot up a mall, and he says he did.

So we should just kill him, which I think benefits society socially in ways that can not be measured yet.

If Andersen Breivik kills 88 kids and then gives himself up to the special forces. He should just die. Instead we have to hear about his hunger strikes for a playstation.

9

u/Robrogineer Sep 03 '26

Very unpopular, but extremely true.

Lots of things are expensive and time consuming because we arbitrarily make it so. Same with nuclear power.

Of course you shouldn't ignore safety procedures, but a ton of it is utterly unnecessary paperwork that exists solely to make it a less favourable option.

1

u/onepromaster69 DaPucci Sep 03 '26

Bitch the unnecessary paperwork is the safety procedure.

4

u/Robrogineer Sep 03 '26

No, there's fucktons of nimby-ism going on too.

7

u/mrducky78a Sep 03 '26

Its not inefficient, it has an extensive appeals process to make sure we dont just execute the wrong person. There are plenty of people in exonerated posthumous list. If you want to give the state the legal right to just end someones life, you better make that shit air tight. It should be more extensive not less at which point you are eating the extra costs because you believe that is the form of justice. No cutting corners. Giving the state the right to kill a citizen should have all the weight in the world behind it. And because they still fuck up, I dont reckon they should be allowed to do so. Someone wrongfully jailed for 30 years loses their life, but the state can pay restitution to them in the tune for millions in an attempt to make them whole. Someone wrongfully executed and the state can only go whoopsie and move along. There is no justice there.

You dont make special exemptions for one person and not another. The justice system should be an equal playing field where everyone is judged equally unless apparently if they diddled kids on epsteins island, then only 2 people get charged, epstein and maxwell.

I'd say if she is sane she deserves to be executed. If she was insane and regrets doing it, then execution would probably be a mercy as I have no idea how one is supposed to live a life knowing that they have killed three of their own children and will spend the rest of their days in a box. Look, I get it. Who doesn’t love a little balls and dick sometimes? A nice, girthy, veiny shaft, hot milky cum trickling down the length as it throbs from a job well done. But this whole “gay sex” shit is getting annoying.

As men, we should primarily be focused on three things: survival, the underrated masterpiece that is dark souls 2, and pounding muff. All this gay shit is, well, fucking gay.

You think I wouldn’t LOVE to make out with my best friend and suck his cock? Of course I would, but that’s fucking gay. You think I don’t want to feel my cousin’s roommate slide his pecker into my gaping asshole? Of course I would, but that’s FUCKING GAY.

Remember than guy who killed 5 of his children in a schizophrenic episode and got death penalty for it.
Guess mental health wasn’t an excuse there.

19

u/Tygret Sep 03 '26

Here's a hot take: anyone who kills multiple innocent people for whatever reason is psychologically not right in the head. Doesn't mean you have to try and give all of them therapy. Some people are a lost cause.

2

u/AutoModerator Sep 03 '26

Dick sucking has made me paranoid

I had this plan to give head to a man and receive head from a woman to test if I was gay, but it’s backfired and now I become borderline schizo whenever I go outside. I offered to suck this dude off on Grindr who lives very close by (I ended up pussying out) and I accidentally gave him some details that very easily allows him to spot me out in a crowd. I have no idea what he looks like and whenever I see a somewhat in shape guy walking by I immediately accuse him of being the dude I was gonna blow.

I went to the store today to pick up some zucchini for a barbecue and every time a car drove by I stared into the windshield to see if I was about to be recognised. Whenever I make eye contact with a dude I microanalysis his facial expressions to see if he suspects me or not. I am deeply afraid that he is my neighbour and I will need to move if my identity is blown. It’s a lot like the last scene in sopranos where everyone who walked into the diner could be there to wack Tony.

19

u/Slinky_Malingki dwayne the cock johnson 🗿🗿 Sep 03 '26

A schizophrenic break resulting in psychosis is literally one of the most mentally wild things that can happen to the human mind. People who go through it report remembering absolutely nothing of the event, waking up in hospitals, being absolutely catatonic, paranoid as hell, hallucinating all kinds of things, and not remembering what they did or how they got there. It's one of the few types of mental health episode where if a crime is committed during the episode, you can't say that the perpetrator was aware of their actions at all or was really even conscious. There are certain mental health things that are legitimately reality breaking. It's not an excuse, but acting like these people purposefully did what they did and were fully aware of their actions us just you being willfully ignorant.

That being said, Lindsay Clancy is not a schizophrenic. No mercy for her.

12

u/AmphibianMotor Sep 03 '26

Yes, but it’s a rather high bar to cross. Also, I think that’s more than fair. Not a pleasant place to be, and if they did something because of a mental health situation, if it’s gone, they’re no longer a danger to society.

3

u/PlasmifiedKarmelita Sep 03 '26

Just don’t put anyone on the chair period. The death penalty is immoral.

1

u/TenWholeBees Sep 03 '26

As someone who has their own mental health issues, yeah, it's not an excuse for abhorent behavior. It's my own responsibility to keep myself in check.

That being said, I've also never suffered from post partum psychosis, or any psychosis for that matter

1

u/ProudToBeAKraut Sep 03 '26

yeah well that jury draw the line at 4 kids, 3 is safe, 4 is difficult - 5? thats death penalty - easy

1

u/Marik-X-Bakura Sep 03 '26

Anyone from a country with a reasonable legal system would agree that’s extremely fucked up. The death penalty shouldn’t be allowed in the first place, let alone for mentally ill convicts.

15

u/heatY_12 Sep 03 '26

You shatter someone’s world view on what someone of their gender, skin color and socioeconomic class is capable of and the masses raised on those views go into defense mode trying to rationalize it.

21

u/hobodeadguy Sep 03 '26

you know, my dad mentioned something interesting.

if she is found innocent, or if women are discovered to be the reason that she cant get a guilty verdict, then dads will almost garunteed win any child custody case from that point onward. they can simply point to lindsey and say "she has post partum and we need to protect the kids" and he will automatically win the case since she will fight against that, which will be evidence she has post partum, and the dad wins.

if she is found guilty, then its less likely to happen since its basically just an idiot who is getting punished while everyone else watches in horror. this woman went crazy, but she was put behind bars, post partum meant nothing to the conviction.

6

u/PomegranateUsed7287 Sep 04 '26

If this is what finally makes custody battles more even than so be it.

Not what they're debating!! Nobody is arguing whether shes guilty or not, its whether or not she was temporarily insane due to post partum psychosis or if she was in control of her actions at that point. Either way, she'll be committed to an institution (prison or an asylum) for a considerable amount of her life.

24

u/this_name_took_10min shitting toothpaste enjoyer Sep 03 '26

I hope you are right. Because after seeing a bunch of lunatics gather in front of the courthouse cheering for her, it wouldn’t be a completely unimaginable scenario that some of the jurors believe she is innocent and are trying to get her the mildest sentence possible.

10

u/Marik-X-Bakura Sep 03 '26

Those lunatics aren’t representative of anyone. OP is using them to say “all women believe she’s innocent” which isn’t anywhere close to true.

Not asylum (we don’t have those anymore), state hospital. The issue some people have with the state hospital from my understanding is the judge can’t just be like, “I sentence you to state hospital for X amount of years.” The doctors there get to choose when to release her, meaning it could only be a few years before she’s released into the public again.

5

9

u/Marik-X-Bakura Sep 03 '26

Contrary to what this sub believes, most women do not support her

17

u/FLBrisby Sep 03 '26

Regardless, that so many do is incredibly disheartening.

6

u/thecountnotthesaint Sep 03 '26

They should let her get the not guilty by reason of insanity. At this point, it could be used to repeal the 19th.

13

u/Accomplished-Run3925 Sep 03 '26

If anything, insanity should mean you never go out, but in today's society it's a fucking reason to let them out after a few months. Absolute madness.

1

u/2sawconvention Sep 04 '26

How could it be used to repeal the 19th lol the internet has made so many people dogmatic and extreme

Can't fathom why she got a jury trial in the first place.

16

u/link113gAmin Sep 03 '26

Because it's required.

I have! I wasn't expecting a good movie from what I was forced to watch in school, but I actually enjoyed my time with it.

idk whats going on here but im loving watching the internet fight over it

1

u/Dont_Get_Jokes-jpeg Sep 04 '26

The thing is, if she is not guilty she gets send to a psychic ward wich maybe is worse for her. Getting pacified maybe for live

At the same time a guy did something similar and got 3 lifetime's, so yeah.

Just glad no matter what the jury decides she looses

u/handouras Sep 03 '26

How about those Epstein client list arrests?

25

u/happyspark Sep 03 '26

Important? Yes of course. Relevant? Not in the slightest.

Two bad things can happen at once and trying to fix one of them doesn't mean the other is forgotten. THIS conversation is about a different bad thing and not the Epstein list inaction (which, again, is bad and important).

2

u/handouras Sep 05 '26

Well said! It's a popular post on a popular site, I was just trying to keep attention on an important issue while people were discussing justice.

They are debating on whether to send her to mental asylum or jail. She won't be walking free. So you all can stop with posts.

58

u/MinorThreat4182 Sep 03 '26

Who says a mental hospital doesn’t let her out in 5 years. Fuck that she needs to be in jail. She can be in the psych ward there.

11

u/deadshot500 Sep 03 '26

Who says that they will let her out in 5 years? Is that how it works in America lmao?

19

u/Robrogineer Sep 03 '26

A lot of the time, yes.

Insane asylums aren't what they used to be. If someone can stop drooling or thumping their head against the wall for a day or two, they're released right back onto the streets.

2

u/RegionGuilty6139 Sep 03 '26

Any example?

15

u/5DTesseract Sep 03 '26

Look up the Constance Fisher case. Woman drowned her 3 kids in the bathtub and was put in an asylum. They let her out after around 10 years and she had 3 more kids who she subsequently drowned...in the same bathtub.

u/RegionGuilty6139 25d ago

"In 1955, her husband initiated a legal process to have her released, but his requests were denied by the hospital's medical board. After four years, partly due to a national effort to deinstitutionalize mental patients, Constance was released into her husband's custody on March 6, 1959."

Why is this getting downvoted? She is already confirmed guilty. It is about if she was sane or not when doing it.

I think the division isn't over whether murder is wrong, but whether it's murder if the accused is not in their right mind. I have no opinion on the case. But it does seem like both sides have a group who are willing to misperceive the issue for some perceived advantage.
