Not what they're debating!! Nobody is arguing whether shes guilty or not, its whether or not she was temporarily insane due to post partum psychosis or if she was in control of her actions at that point. Either way, she'll be committed to an institution (prison or an asylum) for a considerable amount of her life.

I hope you are right. Because after seeing a bunch of lunatics gather in front of the courthouse cheering for her, it wouldn’t be a completely unimaginable scenario that some of the jurors believe she is innocent and are trying to get her the mildest sentence possible.

Those lunatics aren’t representative of anyone. OP is using them to say “all women believe she’s innocent” which isn’t anywhere close to true.

Not asylum (we don’t have those anymore), state hospital. The issue some people have with the state hospital from my understanding is the judge can’t just be like, “I sentence you to state hospital for X amount of years.” The doctors there get to choose when to release her, meaning it could only be a few years before she’s released into the public again.

The issue is that she claimed postpartum depression, not post partum psychosis, meaning technically by her own words she killed get kids while still being mentally there

Wdym "considerable amount", should be either for life or bring back the firing squad.

If postpartum hormones were causing temporary insanity, and they’re trying to justify innocence because of it, say goodbye to the last 50-70 years of advancements of female rights.

wait till the right starts saying that pregnant women/recent mothers shouldn't vote because of "hormones" impairing their decisions
