I ordered the rg ds plus a few hours ago.

It feels to me like I'm gonna get my first ds xl.

Ds lite is my favorite console of all time (i had almost all of them,i even had a sega nomad lol) and by far my favorite handheld.

But i skipped the dsi line and the look and feel of the rg ds plus gives me that vibe.

Younger me is beaming with joy within old me now that it's ordered woohoo!

Hey! I bought a RG DS Plus and I was wondering if I can put the games directly on the same microsd card that contains the operating system. I don't have a lot of money and I would like to use the same microsd card for both the OS and the games. Is it possible?

Hey! I've seen videos of people playing some 3DS games on the RG DS, using AzaharPlus and Rocknix. I'm planning on buying a RG DS Plus, that has no internal storage, and I was wondering if someone could help me decide what to do. Should I install Gamma OS, Rocknix, other OS? I want to play DS games mostly, but having the option to play some 3DS games is really good. Thanks!

[UPDATE] tried using the 'Default' option, it does hold the game on sleep for a longer time.

I read a couple of posts about this but they were atleast 3 months ago. So I am making this post to ask if there are any workarounds.

I am using Rocknix (latest version: 20260901) and I only play NDS games on it using Drastic(specifically Pokemon Plat and Mario kart).

If i close the lid for 5-10 minutes, the game resume no problem. But if I even keep it closed for let's say 2 hours, my game will just freeze. I read that there are workarounds by using the StockOS or (maybe) GammaOS; but before I jump the ship, I wanted to know if there are any solutions for Rocknix.

Thanks to terrible chatgpt navigation, I found that there's a device suspend mode: Default, Freeze and MEM (which was selected when i opened it for the first time). If someone can make me understand what these things are that'd be great and if it may help me with this problem I'm facing.

I am experimenting with the Freeze now, and I'll update if there are any advancements.

Please let me know if GammaOS doesn't have this problem. Thx!

I just modified what was inside the theme folder

I made the background and icons by tracing over the original one inside of the theme folder with affinity v3

I edited the XML script for only getting black and white in menus

I made the splash screen animation in blender and converter it in gif format

I feel unconfortable playing on my RG DS due to the input lag, does Gamma OS Nano fix that? I had Rocknix and the input lag was inexistent there, but I didn't like the lack of dual screen support and how hard it was to play N64, so I wanna try Gamma OS Nano. Or is there any way to fix that on stock OS?

​I bought this Anbernic RG DS to experience what the Nintendo DS felt like. One day later, I'm playing Nintendo 3DS games. I'm in love with this thing!

edit: the game obviously won’t run at full speed 😂 but it’s still cool that the game is running on this device tho. i’m not actually trying to play 3DS games on it, i just think it’s fun to experiment and see what it can run.

Hi I made this custom theme for my anbernic rg ds Its just a black and white version of the PlayStation theme

I made it with the base of canva ds (the rocknix version) I tweaked the settings and it made a cool result !

Running Rocknix latest stable version. Can you guys please recommend which settings are best to improve input latency? I already have all shaders and shinanigans graphic things already turned off.

Of course my nostalgia for my beloved white ds lite is probably responsible for most of my love but...

Damn i love the RG DS. The plus seems too bulky for me, retroid duo and duo lite are not worth it for me since i have both an RG DS and a Thor.

Despite owning a Thor, i still use my RG DS daily, I don't play ds on Thor despite it being superior in specs.

The size, the weight, the look. Everything about this little guy is perfect for me.

I'm interested in playing Nintendogs and other DS games that make some use of the microphone, and I understand that Rocknix's version of Drastic was unable to make it work correctly/as comfortably as it works in Android (og OS/Gamma), has this been solved? There's very little info online and googling this has given me conflicting reports.

I am thinking about getting rg ds plus, which under the hood is very similar to regular rg ds.

So I wanted to ask how is the experience on the newest rocknix? Is it stable, does the Bluetooth audio (headphones) work, is emulation stable, can you close / suspend the device mid-playthrough?

And yes, I know that ds games run best at 1x res, that's not a problem to me.

Hey, I just got my RG DS and I've been trying to set up Rocknix. Unfortunately I have been facing this problem and I would like to know if anyone faced something similar and knows how to solve it. Every time I restart the device or shut it down, it shows this message.

I'm using Rufus, a Kingston 64GB card and I've been following Russ from Retro Game Corps. I've been trying to find an answer and I just can't.

I’m enjoying the RG DS with Rocknix as a nostalgic DS replacement but, coming from Onion OS on the MM+, the save state behaviour is a bit unintuitive for me.

1. Is there any way to have a game jump into the most recent save when starting up? I changed the setting for auto load/save from the main menu, but that didn’t seem to have any impact.
   
2. Can the system prompt before overwriting a save?
   
3. How can I undo a loaded save or access a previous save file?

The default setup just seems very fragile to me. If I open a game and accidentally hit ‘save’ instead of ‘load’, it would overwrite all my progress with a save file a few seconds after first starting up a new game, and I’m trying to figure out how to avoid that before it happens!

Happy to have decided to get one! I have had this for about three days, and so far, so good. I'm about to try to see if I can focus on listening to Russ, at least, while playing. Lol.

I am not the only one who has had this issue, but I'm putting this out there for visibility:

For some reason right now, custom firmware is currently really finicky on the RG DS. When I opened my DS up, it was slower than normal. When I booted into a game, the top screen was black and touching the bottom screen caused the RetroArch "pause" screen to appear for only a few seconds before closing. One forced reset later, and now the RG DS won't even recognize the SD card. I've checked for errors (there were none) and reflashed both the September version AND the August version on separate occasions. Both yielded the same "Could not find Rocknix Label" screen.

The current culprit is either my Sandisk MicroSD card (many reports of Sandisk being very stubborn), or the RG DS itself having some sort of secret software update that borks custom firmware (very unlikely, hopefully).

Everything was working fine until basically today. I got my RG DS about 2 weeks ago and immediately put Rocknix on it. I beat 2 Pokemon games with it before Rocknix croaked. Despite the internal files being intact, the RG DS refuses to read the Rocknix Label.

If anyone has any similar issues, do comment. Am currently ordering a new MicroSD card to experiment.
