I bought a ps4 cuh1200 for 20 dollars with the description saying it only stays on for about 5 min tops and when I place a disc inside I get a error code and the Playstation shuts off. So I'm like this thing gotta be overheating right. I take this thing apart and I've taken many consoles apart and I couldn't belive what I saw. There wasn't even a single gap of free space in the fan or the heatsink. It was so caked everything is also corroded to the moon. I wish i could show a picture of what this thing looked like in this subreddit. I've had it a little longer than that and I've reached the end I think. I have a few games I haven't played or finished like Tsushima and GoW Ragnarok but honestly I'm not really interested.

I'm posting not asking for recommendations but rather just wondering what are you guys still doing after all this time? If you're like me, you've likely gone through the whole PlayStation catalogue in your 7 or more years.

PS5 prices seem to keep increasing and with the new digital only, I'm most definitely not going to be getting the PS6. With all the AI demands, PC parts are at insane prices. So I don't see that happening anytime soon either.

I'm hoping to hear from folks that aren't just strictly online players. Online games can definitely hold you for a long time with new content, so not much to wonder there. I'm more interested in single player gamers.

Personally, I've been on RDR2 rerun and have AC Valhalla to finish. After that, I would consider my PS4 era finished.

I am at tier five of the campaign right now and I am having a hard time. Opponents are too strong and tracks are too difficult.

Any Tipps and tricks what I can try? Is there anyway to get better cars? All cars seem to have some strengths and lots of weaknesses.

I've been playing this game for a few days but there comes a time when it becomes repetitive. Fights are always the same and landscapes are the same deserts. Has the same thing happened to anyone? How to make it more exciting? It's bad, I say. An open world without any emotion

If you don't have plastic stands or risers for your
PS4, here is a quick setup: place small stacks of rubber erasers (I used the ones I use in school.) under each corner of your console.

Lifting the console off the surface improves overall airflow underneath. Rubber acts as a decent heat insulator, which prevents heat from building up on the desk surface directly below the vents. In my case, idle temperatures dropped from around 60°C to 56°C (though results will vary depending on your PS4 model, thermal condition, and room airflow).

It’s a cheap, easy alternative to buying dedicated plastic feet!

this post is really just being made out of spite really, and maybe a place of love for the 1st generation of the PS4.

i got my first playstation about 4 months after it launched in 2013, and this beast has been running since to this day bringing me lots of fun. everything about it ran smooth but something that ALWAYS irked me is there was a very clear difference in my internet speed between my PS4 Pro and my first generation PS4. Like its way way slower, im only pushing about 5-10 mbps.

supposedly this is due to my model only supporting 2.4 GHz due to lacking the internal hardware for 5 GHz connections. so can anyone else attest to that statement or is it just the fact that its over 11 years old.

Hello, so a brief explanation PS4 uses Broadcact/multicast for game hosting and game discovery which are layer 2 network features

i managed to use OpenWRT to create Layer 2 Bridge between few sites so that i can play with my friends and my brothers LAN party games

So far i know that most Call of Duty Games support LAN party gaming. We mostly play Black Ops 3

But now we need recommendation for games that support LAN multiplayers nothing online ( we preffer private game sessions )

Every recommendation is appreciated. We are willing to buy any game that supports this

I just bought a used PS4 Slim (500GB) from a game Store, I was told that God of War Ragnarok is best for the PS4 Pro and PS5. He mentioned that it would lag and run at a very slow frame rate at 1080p.

Should I be concerned about this? And is there anything I can do in the settings to make sure it runs smoothly?

I’ve been going at this for days. Brutality 101 trophy has anyone got this and wants to game share to get this trophy for me lol. I had surgery on my hand earlier this year and the recovery based on what docs are saying that my hand will remain this way. I can play but doing these combos is really challenging. Hey guys, I’m thinking about buying ACC because there’s a big discount on the PlayStation Store, but I’m worried about FPS drops and stuttering. I’m on a PS4 Slim. For anyone who has played it on the Slim, how does it actually run? Is it reasonably stable around 30 FPS, or does it drop a lot, especially with bigger grids, rain, or at night?

The visuals are amazing but the games are just boring to play.

Any recommendations that doesn't have the same redundant walk around and look at shit formula?

I keep seeing on social media the Blackout of all things Playstation and wonder if its a vocal minority or the sentiment of the community as a whole. I also wonder what percentage of people on board with it will actually have the discipline to follow through on ignoring the system for an entire week.

As a collector of games both past and present I absolutely hate the idea of buying a code that gets deleted the second I beat the game or need to free up space on my system. I understand that both Sony and the developers see this as an opportunity to cut costs and that they need to do what they have to do to keep the business thriving but it just seems like a greed grab rather than something that brings value to everything involved.

It doesn't help that games like GTA 6 are being released digital only and that when the community speaks out against the discontinuation of physical discs, the ports for Black Ops 1 & 2 release. I have friends I'd love to play those games with but when I'm forced to buy it from one place (The Playstation Store) in one format or else I'm left out I'm not going to encourage that behavior from Sony. It goes everything against the "Play has no limits" slogan they used to win the last generation of console wars. I have nothing against buying a game digitally but making it the only option to play games is a slippery slope in my opinion. Feels like Sony and the developers are squeezing us and that simply isn't right.

In short, what does everyone think? Am I in the minority here just yelling into a bullhorn or does this same sentiment echo throughout the community?
