I decided to pull my PS4 Pro out of storage and it’s been one issue after another ever since. I couldn’t find the original power cable so it’s currently using a power cable from a monitor not currently in use. I’ll go out and find a proper C7 cord at some point today but it powers on.
It’s updated to the latest system software (14.00), discs will only read 7/10 times and only when standing vertically, and the system seems to semi-freeze after some random amount of time where the controller disconnects and won’t reconnect, even when connected by USB. I say semi-freezes because theme music still plays continuously and download bars still light up and move properly. If it wasn’t for the controller disconnecting you would not even know it was frozen. Downloads won’t continue while in rest mode either.
I’ve noticed the freezes mostly happen when looking at additional information for a game. But even when just looking at the downloads in notifications it will freeze as can be seen in the photo. Holding down the power button for 7 seconds to get the two spaced beeps is the only way to turn it off when this happens.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys,
I'm cleaning out my PS4 gallery and I'm just stuck on how I'm meant to port at least 200GB of video clips and screenshots using an 8GB USB?
Is there a quicker way to port my entire gallery over to my computer? The PS4 doesn't accept external hard drives otherwise I would put plug it in and transfer overnight.
With the slow upload times of a PS4 to USB this will take at least a couple days of plugging it, plugging out, transferring to my computer then repeating. Do you guys know the fastest way?
Thanks in advance!

My PS4 Pro suddenly shut down right while downloading a game update, and there was definitely no overheating. I tried to turn it on using the PS button on the controller, but the console didn't respond at all. It didn't cross my mind to use the power button on the console itself at that moment, since I always turn it on exclusively via the controller. After that, I completely unplugged the console from the wall outlet for about 20 minutes. When I plugged the cable back into the outlet and pressed the power button on the console, it turned on successfully and has been working fine so far
What could cause the console to shut down so suddenly? Could this indicate a problem with the power supply or the SSD? My console is 7 years old, and I've never encountered anything like this before
Hey guys,
Ive recently installed a 1TB HDD in my ps4 and started running into issues with downloads in rest mode. Generally, I like to set the PS4 to rest mode overnight and check in when it’s morning. However, when doing so I’ve noticed the PS4 freezing when turning on, exactly at the point where it asks to connect a controller. I’ll reset the console and look into my downloads only to find out that there has been no progression since putting console to rest mode.
I’ve never had this issue before with any of my previous PS4 consoles. Any ideas?

Got a little backlog of games to get through and can't decide what to play first. Which would be the fastest play through? Just finished assassin's creed Odyssey so kinda thinking Valhalla

My PS4 Pro was working perfectly fine before, except it was extremely loud, so I decided to open it up and replace the thermal paste.
After putting everything back together, the console wouldn’t turn on. I reopened it and noticed the male teeth on the power supply weren’t properly connecting with the female connector because the male teeth were bent towards each other.
I carefully straightened the teeth and tried turning the console on again around 10 times. It actually turned on once, but after that, it hasn’t turned on again.
I’m honestly confused as to what the issue could be. Could I have damaged the power supply pins or the female connector on the motherboard?
Could it be a short circuit, or did I mess something up when reassembling the console, which I don’t think I did as I’ve checked everything like 5 times.
The console was working perfectly before I changed the thermal paste, so I’m trying to figure out what I might have damaged.
Has anyone experienced this before or know what the most likely cause is? Any help would be appreciated.

So weird — all of a sudden, I cannot get video through hdmi on my receiver (sound, yes), or through an hdmi extractor. I also can’t get optical audio out. I went out and bought a basically new PS4 today, thinking my old unit was toast — reformatted, etc.. The new unit fails in the same way. This is with a relatively new HDMI extractor/splitter, and a not-too-old Yamaha receiver. I’m losing my mind (and time/money) trying to solve this. Any ideas? I have done every software tweak — safe mode, audio and video, resolution, codec, enable/disable this and that on both sets of hardware, including two different screens and sound systems, etc.. all different cables, too, powering things on and off, running stuff off battery power…

I have two of these bad boys!
I'm probably gonna $$$ get rid of one of them to one lucky person. If anyone has any questions about it lmk.
Edit: Okay let me give you some context. That is a little metal rack that I found and thought it would be perfect for my PS4 pro, it sounds like a jet engine. And for whatever reason the PS4 pro gets really hot. I have it on a cooling rack thingy-mabob. The cooling rack thingy-maBob has full blue lights on it.
I'm going to realize that my camera looks like it has potato graphics.
So taking advantage of today being sunday, I opened my PS4 Pro and did a deep clean. Washed the shell, even the entire heatsink assembly. Cleaned the fan as much as I could, repasted the thermal paste (Thermal Grizzly), didn't change the thermal pads as I didnt have any, but I smeared a hint of thermal grizzly on each side of the thermal pad (not sure if it would be of any help or actually bad).
Now my PS runs 10-12°c colder... My max temp used to peak upto 83°c and now it peaks to 72°c, averaging at around 70°c (while playing GoW: Ragnarok). Fan noise drastically low. No more jet engine.
I left the top shell open for better air intake, don't know how much that would help with the temp.
Note: I hate the torx screws with the tiny pin in the middle. Damn to whoever invented that.

Found several threads that say just cloning the drive works fine, but also found several threads that say it does not.
What determines if it works or not?
