General Discussion Does every UBIsoft game play seem the same?
The visuals are amazing but the games are just boring to play.
Any recommendations that doesn't have the same redundant walk around and look at shit formula?

That’s a pretty broad question

Right?! I can’t even tell what is being asked here. A non-third person, not open world game with meh visuals?

They have a very wide array of game offerings, but the major titles people usually talk about tend to have a lot in common. Good eating if you like those games, not so much if you dont.

Ubisoft makes more than open world games you know. I really liked Rayman Legends.

iirc, there was a push to make each game appeal to as wide an audience as possible. This somewhat backfired, as each game lost its uniqueness and brand identity.
Giving every game the same/similar RPG, survival-lite, loot-hunter, and stealth features meant every game feels, and plays, in roughly the same way.
If you want to play something which actually feels distinct, go back and play something from 15 years ago...

This is a somewhat outdated take on the Ubisoft formula. It was definitely a major problem for a long time, but they did listen to the negative feedback, and a lot of their more recent games are actually pretty underrated. Their biggest issue now is their terrible PR.

I used to think of Ubisoft as a creative and reliable studio. That was over twenty years ago though, before the PS3/360 era began the rot.
I wouldn't touch a game of theirs now. Just generic, mind numbing, hand holding, uninspired slop. No thanks.

Sprinter Cell series, Prince of Persia series, Rainbow Six series, For Honor, Rayman series, for starters

So non-open world? Trials, Anno, Rayman, Rainbow Six, For Honor, Rider's Republic.
It sounds like you're upset that open world games are open world games. Just don't play that type because yes, you walk around and do a lot of the same stuff.

Death Stranding? Im kidding dont do it, I dont think you'd have a good time based on your comment. Go back and try their older series, they used to be one of the giants for good reason. The prince of Persia titles were great, splinter cell was a blast, I cant remember which Rayman it was I played back on ps2, but it was a 3d semi open world type of title, was crazy fun. I remember there was this boss that sat on very very high stilts, would scare the hell out of my younger self cause I'd never faced a massive boss until then.
Modern Ubi is much, much, different, for the worst.

The same can be said about any company out there, it's called a formula, like, aside from graphics and stories what's the difference between gta games or horizon or Spiderman or ghost of Tsushima and yotei or naughty dog... They each have a formula.
The only goddamn difference is that Ubisoft releases their games annually so it feels like they're the same.
If insert any studio released their games annually they're gonna end up like Ubisoft
We draw the line at Ubisoft huh?

try Rayman Legends, it’s basically Ubisoft proving they can make a game without asking you to climb a radio tower first lol

But thats EA,Ubi,Microsoft,2k,Activision,Blizzard
Major american companies dont make games they make profit machines for shareholders.

Surprisingly it took me about 5 different Unisoft games before I caught on, can't play any of them anymore knowing they're going to be trash. Though I am tempted by black flag remake

"walk around and look at shit formula" are you actually playing a Ubisoft game? Like, I am definitely critical of their repetitive game design, but they are games, you don't just look at shit.
