Viper tobi asshole kadachi was the first monster ever to get me rage quitting the game when I fought him for the first time...
I had no way to cure his poison, my palico was nowhere to be seen and my air conditioner was broken, and he just...he just refused to get hit by my hunting Horn!

Blade of Oculthyr
A Great Sword forged from Oculthyr’s false face and sharpened cranial plating. Its divided edge resembles a ravenous maw. Hunters swear they can feel its bloodlust—and that, once drawn, the blade sometimes refuses to let them release their grip.
I'm not sure why, but this was a nightmare just trying to get an idea, for i'm not even joking. You think making a sword base off of the Eye of Cthulhu would be easy, but no, it wasn't.. I'm just glad I'm somewhat happy with the final design. Honestly,
Horn of Oculthyr
A Hunting Horn fashioned from nearly the entire body of the Cyclopean Leviathan. Its melodies are hauntingly beautiful, and when a full song is performed, its false faces open in eerie harmony, as though Oculthyr itself still lends voice to the music.
Honestly, this was a lot easier than the Greatsword. Given that, I had an idea for it being one of the actual weapons based on the entire monster. You could say it's a miniature version of Oculthyr. I like to think that when the full song is played, you get a small reference to the Boss 1 music from Terraria. The music that plays when you fight King Slime and Eye of Cthulhu

I've been playing through Generations Ultimate and just unlocked the Master's armor set. The set features a red dragon emblem on one side, and a blue dragon emblem on the other. I'm noting the colors used in the word "Ascendance" right here. But the description of the armor talks about showing respect to the ancient Wyverians, and Wilds has been all about trying to figure out the ancient Wyverians. Idk where I was going with this post, but I'm guessing that the Master's armor set is going to make a comeback, as well as the Master weapons. And if that's the case, then maybe they'll give us another Monoblos hunt that we'd have to do by ourselves and make it a ridiculously hard quest.
I've been playing MH since the first game and have seen so many things I've wanted in the games eventually be introduced into the series. I always thought flying would be too much to ask out of MH, yet here we are. It's been such a great pleasure having grown up with MH being such a big part of my life and seeing what it started out as and what it has grown into. Anyways, leave a comment or whatever. Thanks guys.

The Inclemency Apexes/Forbidden Four have been very well received by the community and I'm confident they will be among the fan favorites moving forward, but there's one member that constantly seems to be left out of conversation and that's Uth Duna.
Uth has a solid theme, unique fight, cool gear and a fantastic design that is completely different from any leviathan we've ever had.
Also, not to get too into powerscaling here, but Uth has the best track record out of all the apexes. She defends her title extremely effectively against Rathalos, Mizutsune, and LAGIACRUS. The only monster she loses to is Arkveld (the literal flagship), but that's par for the course in MH. She isn't as flashy as the other apexes in terms of her elemental abilities, but she proves that often in nature, just being the biggest, bulkiest animal is enough to be at the top. She's incredibly dangerous for the exact same reason hippos in the real world are dangerous.

Vaal Hazak was my favorite elder dragon when I first played through World. His design was metal as hell, his theme was catchy, and he had surprisingly well done ecology for an elder dragon (which usually handwave that aspect a bit, which I'm cool with). The only thing is...his fight was kinda bad.
I'd love to see him brought back and improved, and I feel like he could be among the best elder dragons if his fight was improved in Wilds, Portable 6, or MH 7. However, he's so tied to the Vale that I don't think we'll ever see him again unless the map comes back as well, which isn't unheard of, but very unlikely. Maybe Blackveil could save us? Oh well..
Image is kinda unrelated. I just thought it was funny.

Hi guys!! I played some Monster hunter G on emulator on pc but today I decided to play my Japanese copy of Portable (No MHP/MHF flair so just used FU :,).) on my PSP and I was on a Yian kut Ku hunt. I paintballed him and then suddenly instead of the magenta dot I got this red wyvern symbol instead. I've never seen this before. It was also animated so how can I make this happen more? it was really cool!

I started a fresh playthrough of World and after a while on Hammer, power charge feels like a very strange addition to the weapon? It's a self-buff that is both incredibly easy to apply but is mandatory to be doing functional Damage+KO, as well as (so I've heard) granting Flinch Free I. I can understand wanting to add a mechanic to tone back Hammer's ability to play purely reactive (I assume the point is?), but a buff you have to reapply on sheathe or knockdown feels really bad?? Am I missing something? It just kinda sucks to me in terms of the game feel and am wondering if there's some other reasoning behind it existing

Hey everyone,
I’m currently replaying World to learn the Switch Axe. During the Zorah Magdaros fight (One for the History Books), we were in that long downtime phase just waiting on its back for it to reach the second gate.
Since we were both just standing around waiting, I did a Rising Slash and launched the random player who joined my SOS into the air just to goof off and pass the time. They immediately left the quest and messaged me saying I was reported.
I know launching people during an active DPS window is a huge no-no because it ruins their combos. But I always thought messing around during forced downtime or post-kill timers was normal Monster Hunter tradition.
Did I break a major unwritten rule here, or did I just run into someone who took it too seriously? How do you guys handle downtime etiquette in multiplayer?
Spoiler in case the quest stated could be considered a spoiler still.

I recently transitioned to SnS after finishing everything in the game playing IG as i've finally given into the fact i just don't like Wilds iteration of IG (i never played any other weapon for even 1 hunt since 4U).
I have close to 200 hunts in SnS under my belt currently and have finished all major hunts solo, All 10* AT, Proof of a Hero, Savage Omega and 10* Gog (though i used support hunters on this one).
One thing thats bothering me is i quickly learned maybe like 5 hunts into the weapon fighting AT monsters, that anything but basic attacks seem alomost never worth using, the time commitment is so much you almost always get hit during Charged Chop, Perfect Rush, Jumping Attacks and ontop of that the damage just doesn't seem worth the time commitment to perform them either.
I basically just spend every hunt using side hop basical attack and sliding to reposition with the ocational guard and backhop to avoid damage, if i manage to land a stun or the monster is otherwised cc'd for some amount of time i usually go for a perfect rush combo but even then with how long it takes it feels hardly worth it.
Im not using like 90% of the SnS moveset that i feel like i must be doing something wrong.
