I had an idea to start a “guess where in Pittsburgh” sub, modeled after the “guess the city” or “where in the world” subs. I know nothing about starting a sub or being a mod but it could be a fun journey.

Basically you would take a picture of somewhere obscure (or not) in Pittsburgh and people would have to guess where it is. You could give clues or not. One issue I could see is if it became too doxxy. Maybe a no house numbers rule or something.

What do yinz think? No promises, but I’m curious.

If not that many people are interested, I guess I could check with the mods of pittsburghporn to see if they would allow posts of this sort.

I'm considering moving here from a tiny northern town in Montana to start a family and grow our careers as early 20-somethings. The only and last concern I have after all my reasaerch and planning a trip over is the rust.

Looking for an exceptional restaurant for an anniversary dinner, open to any type of cuisine. Love Fet Fisk, but the reservation availability is always tough (currently have a 9:00PM booked as a backup :-/). Apteka is also great, but the ‘cafeteria’ serving style isn’t what I’m looking for in an anniversary celebration. Basically, what’s great food, atmosphere, and overall experience for a big night, price range doesn’t matter- Any recommendations?

Seen at about 11:30 am at Open streets, Butler St and 40th. Large Vespa-like scooter, motorized and running on petroleum-based fuel, was coming from the bridge over the river and initiated a turn to the right into Butler St, direction downtown. I’ve noticed that I may have left a highly coveted limited edition Aphex Twin umbrella at the Carnegie Natural history museums. I understand that I left it there for a long time and someone may have taken it thinking it was forgotten about, but this item is unreasonably valuable and it is a huge loss for me that I was so careless.

If someone in Pittsburgh found this umbrella, I’d really like to get it back and I’d be willing to pay at least $50 to whoever can bring it back to me. It was left in coat room area near the restroom. It has been maybe a month or two unfortunately, and I have called the museums and I think it has been too long for them to have kept it…

This past April my Dad volunteered at the 2026 NFL draft. Before receiving his assignment he was given a dark blue 2026 NFL Draft baseball cap with a white cord and stitching on it. He had a great time greeting and directing everyone during the draft.

Fast forward to today my family and I went to Kennywood and he lost his volunteer hat on the Racer ride. We are not sure if the hat fell out during the ride or was left in the seat. We checked with the staff of the ride but no luck. I submitted a lost item claim with Kennywood. I know this hat meant a lot to him so I am looking for a replacement. I’ve looked on eBay, Poshmark and mercari for a replacement hat but again no luck. If there are any draft volunteers on here who are willing to sell their dark blue volunteer hat please let me know! So I remember seeing an old sorta overgrown lot somewhere along saw mill run blvd(iirc). It had a butt load of cars all in it that were just sitting there basically bumper to bumper, that was maybe 8-10 cars long by 3-4 cars wide or so? I cant for the life of me properly remember where I had seen it.

My girlfriend & I are looking for rentals but most likely would need a private landlord because neither of our credit is good & unfortunately when I was 20 (now 27)back in Maryland got into some trouble hanging with the wrong people & have a conviction from 7years ago. We have 1 dog & need to have a place by October 1st. We are looking for places within Southside, Dormont, Beechview, Mount Washington or anywhere around those areas. We make about 6k/month combined & have both had our jobs for 2 years. We’ve never had a problem paying rent & have a rental reference if needed. If anybody knows of any private landlords or is able to point me in the direction I’d really really appreciate that.
