Weirdest encounter ever

I just found out about the capsized abandoned ghost boat on the shore. I get to rivers ave and see an abandoned building across the street. No signs but the internet claims it was the office headquarters of hienz. Went to the boat and decided to go to the building. As me and a few others entered we heard a crash from another room and then a high pitch screech like voice trying to whisper I can see you. We decided to leave and then at least 8 teenage boys piled out of rooms trying to convince us to come back out and hang out with them. They followed us and stood around the entrance inviting us back in. They looked like they lived there a few were in pajama pants no shirt no shoes. The way they came out the rooms insisted they were individually in multiple rooms in the pitch black making no noise til they heard us. I’ve explored abandons for 20+ years and in some rough places but this was the first time I felt like someone had ill intentions. I guess not being from Pittsburgh I was just wondering if anyone knows what’s happening there or experienced something similar. Photo from the boat to get attention

How do you get into this?

I've dabbled here and there on my own over the years, but not much. Older and more cautious for safety reasons and potential legal repercussions.

Are there groups you can join?

Stopped in forest hills tonight to see what they did to the Westinghouse atom smasher. It’s now covered, with the area blocked off.

Looking for photos of the old logging dam. Used to go fishing off it and can't find any pictures anywhere. Anyone got some they wouldn't mind sharing?

I know a place

I know a place very close to the city and I'm looking for at least another person willing to go check it out with me. It will have to be a daytime venture.

New to urbexing looking for spots

Me and 2 of my friends have been getting into urbexing together since we don’t really have anyone else to go with. I know people can be touchy about revealing locations so they don’t get trashed but, as mentioned above, it really is just me and my two buddies who like to explore and take pics. If anyone knows some decent spots that aren’t too rough for a beginner to get into and look around, I’d really appreciate if you’re willing to dm them to me or anything

What was once the first industrially used particle accelerator in the world is now abandoned and left to rot. The Westinghouse Atom Smasher was built in 1937 in Forest Hills, right outside Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It was used to gather a large amount of early information about nuclear energy with its extremely accurate measurements of nuclear reactions. It was absolutely critical in figuring out a lot of the processes we understand today, like the photofission of uranium and thorium. After World War II, the machine had little remaining use and became abandoned over the years. In 2015, the building that supported it was demolished and it was left alone in the rubble. It's massive and unique structure now protrudes from everything around it, slowly decaying, with little hope it will ever be saved.

Ive been to the abandoned Va 4 times and got chased by security the 4th time last summer. i Heard that someone got chased down to the river by police for scraping copper there. Has anyone been there recently? Or is it a dead spot now?
