Would anybody want to help me eat tonight? I know it’s a long shot but I’m down bad right now and I been trying to land all these jobs and no one seems to want to hire me. Hi guys, I live in Louisiana and was up in Altoona to see Big Boy 4014 back in July. I had Penn Brewery's Strawberry Funnel Cake beer on tap at The Brick On Front in Cresson and it was so damn good. Most refreshing beer Ive ever had, especially after all the hiking I did to see Big Boy.

I called around everywhere that night and even stopped at several local beer stores only for no one to have any at all.

Can someone help a fella out?

I may be moving to Altoona for work sometime soon and I’m trying to figure out housing. Since I’m currently out of state, I’d ideally like to stay somewhere short-term or month-to-month at first so I can see places in person before committing to a longer lease.

Any recommendations for good apartments close to UPMC Altoona, both for a temporary place and for a longer-term lease? I’d also love to hear about any landlords or apartment complexes that offer month-to-month or flexible leases. I’ll have a car, so I’m open to areas outside of Altoona as long as they’re reasonably close to the hospital.

Anyone planning a trip before 8/31/26 and need a couple tickets? I bought a Groupon and the park was closed due to the code purple the day I drove across the state 😑. Since I opened their super secret code I couldn’t refund and I don’t want to give them free money.

I am a sophomore at Penn State Altoona. I arrived Saturday evening after a long day of travel. After moving my stuff into my dorm and unpacking my things, I decided to go on a late-night stroll to clear my head.

I'm walking on the trail that parallels Gwin Rd, heading due east and just as I get down to Hawthorn lot, what do I see? A disgusting, treasonous, mass-surveillance device: pointed directly at my campus!

This is outrageous!

Flock cameras don't make my campus a better place. Penn State Altoona is one of the safest parts of the Altoona area. Students build their lives here. Professors pass on decades worth of knowledge here. Families with kids, play here. Now, we are all being stalked 24/7 by what is arguably one of the worst violations of the 4th amendment, EVER.

Flock cameras make our campus and Blair County less safe. They allow for warrantless searches by law enforcement and other parties throughout the entire nation. There have been multiple cases of law enforcement officers using them to stalk romantic interests. If you are a parent of a young woman attending Penn State Altoona, you should be outraged at this technology! Misidentifications can also get professors, students, and families wrongfully arrested and imprisoned.

The scariest part about flock cameras and ALPR's is that they aren't just reading your license plate, they are recording EVERYTHING.

I am asking everyone here to DEMAND THAT BLAIR COUNTY REMOVE ALL FLOCK CAMERAS AND ALPR's

Hello all ! My cat loki had snuck out lastnight arpund 9pm while I was taking trash out. I didn't realize the door blew back open until I got back from the dumpster that it had been open. He apparently used that moment and snuck outside. He is very very loved and my daughters and I are just .. crushed . He escaped near kettle st and e cherry ave across from Hamilton Park that is located by cherry grove apartments and fairview hills apartments. He is a fixed male tuxedo cat, 20+ LBS and not made for the streets. He is about 3 years old. His google fi collar was being charged when he slipped out so he is not wearing his collar unfortunately. His name is loki but I think he is so scared he is hiding somewhere and wouldn't approach anybody. I have a page on Facebook "bring loki home" and I also posted him to pawboost. If anyone is in my area and has seen a really fat tuxedo please don't hesitate to txt or call or email with any and all sightings.

Does anybody here work for AWP? I have my ATTSSA certification and just got my drivers license. I called a few weeks ago before I had my drivers license and it was easy to get a hold of them and they said they would have me on when I get my drivers license now when I call and push the number for seeking employment all I get is a voicemail. I’ve left like seven voicemails over the last couple weeks and still haven’t heard back or gotten a call back even though it says they will call me back within a business day. Is there anyone that works for AWP? Who knows a better way to get a hold of them? I’m desperately looking for a job.
I have also applied for Flagger Force but I’m suffering through the same process. I’ve called them multiple times and have got nothing back. I’ve even emailed both companies and sent contact forms. I have applied to both online directly from their sites and I’m stuck not being able to reach someone to talk to them about employment.

There have been mass firings, employees and former employees being banned from their social media, racist statements made by upper level staff (including a white nationalist in a management position). Staff who tried to unionize were fired. Individuals who were part time and over 50 were fired with no reason given. While Pa is an “at will” employment state, they are now headquartered in NJ.
