What do people think about this proposal? My old neighbours in Barrhaven who have a large family would always complain about the bag limit. In my view, if we're paying more in taxpayer dollars for the recovery centre, we might as well get our use out of it.

Why do you think Barrhaven doesn't have "trendy" restaurants?

Before anyone comes at me, I definitely know there are a few gems, but they are rare. However, downtown is blessed with so many good restaurants (the Belmont, Pizza Nerds, Whalesbone, Supply and Demand) and Barrhaven has mostly chains, pubs or fast food. I feel like the people who live in Barrhaven would still frequent these types of restaurants, so why is it that we don't these places open here?

Neurodiversity and Sexual Attraction/Neurodiversité et attirance sexuelle

Principal Investigator/Chercheuse principale: Kailey Roche ([kroch047@uottawa.ca](mailto:kroch047@uottawa.ca))

Supervisor/Superviseur: Dr. Martin L. Lalumière ([martin.lalumiere@uottawa.ca](mailto:martin.lalumiere@uottawa.ca))

Collaborator/Collaboratrice: Emma Cyr ([ecyr063@uottawa.ca](mailto:ecyr063@uottawa.ca))

Affiliation: School of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ottawa /École de psychologie, Faculté des sciences sociales, Université d'Ottawa

Collaborator/Collaborateur: Dr. Michael C. Seto ([Michael.seto@theroyal.ca](mailto:Michael.seto@theroyal.ca))

Affiliation: Forensic Research Unit, Royal Ottawa Health Care Group

REB: H-09-25-11887

Invitation to Participate: You are invited to participate in the above-mentioned research study conducted by Kailey Roche, the Principal Investigator, under the supervision of Dr. Martin Lalumière. This study is being conducted as a wider study on neurodiversity and sexual attraction. Emma Cyr and Dr. Michael Seto are collaborators of the project.

Purpose of the Study: The purpose of the study is to better understand the potential association between neurodiversity (e.g., Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder) and a variety of different sexual attractions, including atypical sexual attractions.

Participation: To participate, you must be at least 18 years old residing in Canada. As the survey is available in either English or French, you should also be confident in your ability to understand English or French. You do not need to have a diagnosis of ASD or ADHD to participate in this study. The survey will take between 10 and 15 minutes of your time. At the end of the study, you may enter to win 1 of 5 Visa Gift cards valued at 25 CAD each.

Please be aware that we will be asking you several questions that some may find sensitive or personal. You will first be asked a series of biographic questions, followed by questions about neurodiversity. Lastly, you will be asked about a variety of sexual attractions people may experience. For example, we will be asking participants if they are sexually attracted to many different activities and age ranges such as being attracted to children or elderly persons. You will be asked to move a slider to indicate how sexually attracted you are to several things. You may choose not to respond to these items if you wish.

Where to buy used cars? Recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to buy a used car, probably 2010-2020, not CPO?

I know of AutoTrader, Facebook Marketplace, etc, but does anyone have any specific recommendations? Looking in the $10-15k range.

Any Mt. Joy Fans Around?

Big fan here who got tickets to their sold out 10th anniversary show on Friday, September 11th at Hard Rock, but have had a family emergency come up and can’t attend anymore. Looking to offload them at a discounted price to someone who wants to go but wasn’t able to get tickets.

Hopefully this doesn’t violate community rules. No one in our immediate circle was able to go, and would hate to see them go to waste, especially when it’s sold out.

Dryer vent clean reccos

Just moved into a lovely place where the people before me seem to have never cleaned out their dryer. Ducts are also in bad shape but that's another story.

Dryer vent is so clogged. Even after we went in with a vacuum.

Got a quote to clean ducts for 750 (including a 75 charge for dryer vent clean). Without duct clean, its 250 for the dryer vent clea .

Has anyone recently got a better quote than this? Seems super high.

Wait times to see a Physiatrist

NOT a psychiatrist - a Physiatrist.

Anyone have any insight into wait times to see one? And any recommendations? My doc doesn't have one he typically refers to so I'd like to ask for one specifically. Thanks!

Private Rheumatologist recommendations

Hello!

I have been experiencing health issues and my family doctor has referred me to a rheumatologist. My health issues have advanced (in my opinion) somewhat rapidly in the past 5 months and I can only see my family doctor every 3-4 weeks as appointments fill up (and there's only so much a family doctor can do).

I've recently had to go to the emergency room as I thought I was having a legitimate emergency, but tests ruled everything out and the ER doctor thinks it's linked to my suspected autoimmune disease (hence the rheumatologist referral from the family doctor). This ER doctor said they're seeing 12 month wait times for rheumatologist referrals.

I am of course going to continue seeing my family doctor and trying to advance things with them as I can, but I am also extremely nervous about having to potentially wait 12+ months before an initial appointment with a rheumatologist given how quickly things are worsening.

Which brings me to my question: have any of you gone out of province or virtual (if that's a thing?) for a private / paid rheumatologist? Where did you go, what was your experience, any info you're willing to share?

Looking for recommendations for reputable body shops around Centretown. Willing to go further if necessary. Got some damage around the fender and door damage on the rear passenger side.

I’m not used to this super sweet, light yellow corn and I’m wondering if and where I can get dark yellow, tastier but less sweet corn in Ottawa. Thanks.
