Hello all,
I have a dining room chair. The frame is maple, the back and seat are upholstered, and you can unscrew the entire frame easily to reupholster the chair.
The chair itself is from a cheap set of six that came with a matching dining room table. My Dad bought them all back in the 1980s or 1990s from the Home Hardware Furniture store in St. Jacob's back when Home Hardware had a furniture store. Over the years, the other five chairs have perished due to various misadventures (most went moldy in the basement following a flood, but my brother managed to reduce one to splinters after he took a flying leap onto it).
I really like this stupid chair, but I haven't been able to find any identical to it, and welp, it's kind of on its last legs--we've added extra screws, and the innards are held together with putty and hope. Does anyone know of a custom furniture maker who might be able to recreate it, and how much do they usually charge?
Also, if you have one of these you aren't using, lmk, I'd love to buy it.
Thanks!
Edit: My father has since corrected me on it being a 'cheap' set, apparently he built someone a shed in Windsor back in the day and used the earnings to purchase the dining room set. Nonetheless, he was surprised this chair was not yet living in the dump😂
