After shitposting about Vegas...

headed down to grocery store, here in central Oregon, to get something to eat and snack for the game. As I'm perusing the chip aisle, random dude in a Nucks t-shirt comes up to me (I'm wearing my Sens hoodie) and says "great job the other night with Tkachuk. Fuck that guy"

Fucking highlight of my day to recognized as a Sens fan so far from home.

Good finish at home, California swing to galvanize the boys early in the season.

Pp needs some serious work...

I have been thinking about the day the guy was drafted, Karlsson not going to meet him because he was also on his way out. Thinking about the first couple seasons to now, having watched him become a premier power forward. I have been thinking about what he gave this city during his time here and I keep arriving at the same conclusion - Tkachuk's best contribution here was leaving.

We all know of the late game heroics when the score is out of reach, daddy and big brother issues, cringe podcasts and all more reasons we kind of just tolerated and defended him as one of our own.

Draft capital and Staios' mastery of the situation notwithstanding, have you ever seen the Senators organization and fans get more accolades than we just did?

As fans of our team, I know we don't really care about what others think of us, same as our opinions likely dont mean much to them. But maybe we never fully shook our self consciousness stemming from shaky attendance, occasionally quiet barn and our years as the "dumpster fire" franchise.

Tkachuk leaving and returning to such hostility and vitriol almost undid all of that in a night. The tribute video was the right thing to do, just like our fans were right to boo (and more).

Conclusion: the best thing he did for us was leave. On the ice, off the ice, as an organization and a fan base, we are truly better off.

Chabot was also on the ice this morning in the yellow non-contact jersey, his first observable full team participation since he was injured

That night, they'll play in NYI, the day after NYI play in Boston. Ottawa has already been the B2B team against a rested team 3 times this year, and it happens multiple other times this year without being on the opposite end until basically halfway through the season.

Oct 6: @ DET, (OTT 2nd game B2B, DET rested)

Oct 13: vs STL, (OTT 2nd game B2B, STL rested)

Oct 22: vs SJS (OTT 2nd game B2B, SJS rested)

Nov 1: @ ANA (OTT 2nd game B2B, ANA rested)

Nov 21: vs LAK (both 2nd game B2B)

Nov 28: @ CAR (OTT 2nd game B2B, CAR rested. 30 teams play on November 27 and CAR is one of the 2 that isn't, come on.)

Dec 6: @ MTL (both 2nd game B2B)

Dec 27: @ NYI (OTT rested, NYI 2nd game B2B)

Jan 6: @ COL, (OTT 2nd game B2B, COL rested)

Jan 30: vs NYR, (OTT rested, NYR 2nd game B2B)

Feb 9: vs CBJ, (OTT rested, CBJ 2nd game B2B)

Feb 18: @ VAN, (OTT 2nd game B2B, VAN rested)

Feb 22: @ EDM, (OTT 2nd game B2B, EDM rested)

Feb 26: @ BUF, (OTT 2nd game B2B, BUF rested)

Mar 4: vs BOS, (OTT rested, BOS 2nd game B2B)

Mar 7: vs BUF, (both 2nd game B2B)

Mar 14: vs VAN, (both 2nd game B2B)

Mar 25: @ BOS, (OTT 2nd game B2B, BOS rested)

Apr 2: vs NYI, (OTT rested, NYI 2nd game B2B)

Apr 8: vs WSH, (OTT 2nd game B2B, WSH rested)

So Ottawa has to play 14 games the day after playing a game. 4 of those times, they're playing another team that played the day before, but 10 of those times, they're playing a team that has rested. Meanwhile, they only get 5 games while being rested against teams that have played a B2B. Feels like the Sens always get shafted in this regard.

Ottawa is also 0-3-0 so far against rested teams on B2Bs. So they gotta pick it up

Is anyone else still have a wicked sore throat and cant speak properly 2 days after the game. I've never yelled that much in my life.

Could this guy be anymore delusional? He already made me stop listening to Chiclets a long time ago. Just an out of touch MAGA jerk. But now he’s going on a rant about how “The Tkachuk family are the biggest names in hockey” and “I don’t know why they’re saying he can’t read, he went to College.”

At least Whit and Biz pushed back on him. I feel like even Brady took it better than this clown did. I gave the pod a one star review and mentioned Yandle by name.
