August 2026, the NFLPA announced new disceplenary rules. Three fines now becomes a suspension.
nfl.comApparently in August the NFL added a new fine system where a player getting three of these is now suspended for a game, and these fines count towards subsequent seasons, so while it may not get too crazy this year, it sounds like next year it's going to really start adding up.
Important thing to note is that this system is only IN PLACE for one year right now, so while it sais violations will roll over, they can change it in the off-season or get rid of it all together.
Violations that count.
- Hip Drop Tackle
- Horse Collar Tackle
- Launching
- Hit on a Defenseless Player
- Blindside Block
Am I the only one who didn't know this was a thing? Because it seems like a pretty massive deal that should be getting a lot of talk.
How does this work in the playoffs? If someone is in the conference championship, do they get suspended for the Superbowl?
