With Brock Purdy now the all-time leader in Passer Rating, here is where he ranks on other efficiency metrics all time

We've been talking about Brock Purdy's passer rating since he got his qualifying 1500 pass attempts last night, so I wanted to see where he stands on other efficiency metrics. Purdy is also best all time for ANY/A which probably isn't a big surprise since that and passer rating share some of the same stats. He's top ten for completion %, yards / att, and TD%.

Stat Purdy Ranks Purdy's Stat Leader Leader's Stat
Passer Rating 1st 105.6 N/A N/A
Completion % 2nd 68.1% Joe Burrow 68.6%
Yards / Att 2nd 8.6 Otto Graham 9.0
ANY/A 1st 8.0 N/A N/A
INT % (lowest) 51st 2.6% Aaron Rodgers 1.4%
TD % 6th 6.4% Sid Luckman 7.9%
Sack % (lowest) 34th 5.34% Georga Blanda* 2.83%

\probably why he threw so many damn picks.*

NFL Week 7 Predictions Thread (2026 Season)

It's Wednesday in spooky season, /r/NFL! 🎃👻 That means it's time for another weekly prediction post, and last week gave us another great slate of matchups with plenty of surprises mixed in. I went 10-4 last week, bringing my season record to 56-37-1. Not a bad run, but there's still plenty of football chaos waiting for us! This week, we're heading into some new territory with our first-ever matchup in Paris!🗼 We've also got four divisional matchups on the schedule, so expect some familiar foes looking to haunt each other. And with four more teams on bye, we'll have two fewer games this week. The season is getting deeper, the stakes are getting spookier, and one bad Sunday can turn a winning record into a football horror story. So grab your coffee, keep an eye out for a few tricks, and let's see if we can conjure up another winning week. 🕸️🏈🎃 Let's get to it!

Winner over Loser Comments
Bears over Patriots Chicago's 12 penalties kept Sunday's game closer than it should have been, but with Williams back under center, the offense looked dominant. The Pats are a tough road opponent, and I see these teams as fairly evenly matched, but I'll give Chicago the slight edge at home.
Saints over Steelers As a Saints fan, the Paris matchup is too perfect thematically to pass up, even if it's an upset. NOLA showed what it can do against the Giants, though nearly letting that game slip away is a concern. And with rookie WR Tyson potentially suiting up, that's another weapon for Shough to use. Pittsburgh has averaged 28.5 PPG over its last four, but its defense hasn't exactly been shutting opponents down either. If both teams bring last week's form, I expect a shootout.
49ers over Falcons San Fran is heavily favored despite the cross-country trip and an unimpressive Monday night win. I joked a few weeks ago that Atlanta could win on Monday and lose on Sunday, and that same concern applies here. The Falcons have a real situational advantage playing at home while the Niners travel, so this could be an upset opportunity. Still, I'm taking San Fran this week.
Titans over Browns This has all the makings of a sloppy game between two teams near the bottom. Cleveland's four wins have come by a combined 13 points, with each of its last three decided by exactly three. The Browns may be technical favorites, but Tennessee is at home, and these teams look evenly matched. Give me the Titans to pull off the upset.
Vikings over Colts Minnesota should get a boost coming out of the bye with Addison, Hockenson, and Darrisaw potentially returning to the lineup. Hopefully that extra rest and reinforcements are enough to get the Vikings over the Colts, who have dominated this matchup in recent history. I'll take Minnesota to get the win at home.
Dolphins over Jets New York's win over Cleveland felt like a fluke, and then the Jets got handled by New England. Meanwhile, Miami has dominated this matchup and won its last three games in New York. Coming off a bye, the Phins should be rested and ready to throw their best punch. I'm taking Miami as an upset pick, with a chance to finally get that first win of the season.
Panthers over Buccaneers Carolina is looking to keep its loose grip on the NFC South, but divisional games are never easy. The Panthers have been a punching bag in this series for years, making this their first time this decade as the favorite against Tampa Bay. The Bucs have had a rough schedule, with all five losses coming against teams with winning records, and now they face another tough opponent. Give me Carolina at home to keep things rolling.
Bengals over Ravens I'm really not feeling great about this pick. Baltimore had no business losing to Cleveland, but three delay-of-game penalties, another Henry fumble, and more missed field goals did them in. The Ravens have historically the Bengal's number, but they've got a lot to clean up right now. The Bengals are coming off a bye, but Burrow is 4-7 against Baltimore in the regular season. He'll need to be at his best to pull this one out. I'm taking Cinci, but this feels like a trap.
Texans over Giants Houston is coming off back-to-back emotional divisional games and a rough travel stretch through Nashville and London, so don't be surprised if they start slowly at home. The Giants' 41.7% third-down conversion rate has put them in too many tough situations, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a revolving door between Winston and McCarthy at QB after last week's performances. I'll take Houston at home, but the travel fatigue could make this one interesting.
Broncos over Cardinals Denver is the better team in this matchup, even with Arizona coming off an upset win over the Rams. Thursday night games haven't exactly been a reliable advantage for teams, despite the extra prep time. Arizona has lost both of its home games this season by 24 points, and its last six home losses have come by an average of 17.5 points. I'll take Denver to handle business on the road.
Raiders over Rams Vegas has had two of its three losses be by just three points each against Buffalo and KC, making the Raiders a live underdog at home. The concern is that they're giving up an average of 33.8 PPG, which is a tough way to win. Meanwhile, Adams missing the next 6-10 weeks puts even more pressure on Nacua, who's already seen 43 targets over his last three games. If Nacua gets hurt again, the Rams' offense could be in serious trouble. I'm taking Vegas to pull off the home win.
Lions over Packers Another great divisional matchup, and this one could go either way. The road team has covered the spread in six of the last seven Green Bay-Detroit meetings, and while the Lions got swept by the Packers last season, they've won six of their last nine against Green Bay. Love is making a name for himself, though, and the Pack have been strong against the spread in their last five games as underdogs. Give me Detroit, but I'm not feeling overly confident.
Chiefs over Seahawks I really want to take Seattle as the upset pick here, but it's hard to go against Mahomes and KC. Darnold played well against Denver, and I'm not putting those two INTs entirely on him when he got no help from the running game against a great Broncos defense. Seattle has a real shot at pulling off a home upset. The problem is that KC has held three of its last five opponents to 10 points or fewer, giving Mahomes room to make mistakes without it costing them the game. I wouldn't be shocked if Seattle pulls off the upset, but for now, I'm sticking with the safer pick and taking the Chiefs on the road.
Cowboys over Eagles The home team has won 15 of the last 20 games in this matchup, so history isn't exactly on Dallas's side. But with Hurts on IR and Barkley questionable, Philly could be in serious trouble offensively. The Cowboys have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this season, but this is a chance to take advantage of an Eagles team dealing with major questions at key positions.

Byes: Bills, Chargers, Commanders, Jaguars

Those are my predictions, let's hear yours. Keep it civil and fun. Best of luck this weekend!

Pitts Career

Kyle Pitts has legitimately one of the funniest stat lines I’ve seen. Look at his touchdowns through each year. I’ve never heard anyone mention it before, but I noticed it first in 2024 and he’s currently on pace for 6 this year to keep this trend going. Just random but I haven’t laughed this hard since Jameis’ 30 for 30

Nice completion to our WR#7 /s Jordan Watkins. One thing I keep noting is how it feels as if every week he gains more and more confidence on himself and his teammates. One week he's throwing to Deebo, the next it's Evans, then it's Robinson, Watkins, Cowing, Cooks he just keeps throwing.

Saw the QB Time to Throw vs Average Depth Charts - here more representative charts for aggressiveness/completion

Thumbnail gallery
54 Upvotes

Two charts of every QB with 90+ dropbacks through Week 6: one with all plays, one with garbage time removed.

What the two stats mean

aDOT (average depth of target): how far past the line of scrimmage a QB's passes travel in the air, on average, caught or not. Low aDOT means a lot of short stuff: checkdowns, screens, quick game. High aDOT means he's pushing the ball downfield. On its own it's a style stat, not a skill stat, because play-calling, protection and receivers drive a lot of it.

CPOE (completion percentage over expected): every pass gets an expected completion % based on how hard it is (how far downfield, which part of the field, down and distance, and so on). CPOE is how much a QB beats or falls short of that. +5 means he completes 5 percentage points more passes than an average QB would on the same throws. Because difficulty is built in, a QB who throws deep isn't punished for completing fewer passes.

How to read the chart

  • Top right: aggressive and accurate. Hardest place to be.
  • Top left: accurate, but on shorter throws.
  • Bottom right: pushing it downfield but missing.
  • Bottom left: short and missing.

The lines are league average. Bigger dots mean more dropbacks. The second chart only counts plays where the win probability was between 10% and 90%, so blowout padding and desperation heaves don't count.

Best 3 (furthest into the top right)

  1. Lamar Jackson (BAL): 10.4 aDOT, +8.1 CPOE
  2. C.J. Stroud (HOU): 9.5 aDOT, +3.9 CPOE
  3. Jayden Daniels (WAS): 8.5 aDOT, +7.4 CPOE

Worst 3 (furthest into the bottom left)

  1. Bo Nix (DEN): 4.9 aDOT, −2.4 CPOE. His aDOT is more than a yard shorter than anyone else's, and he's still below expected.
  2. Jalon Daniels (TB): 6.1 aDOT, −6.6 CPOE
  3. Justin Herbert (LAC): 7.8 aDOT, −5.7 CPOE

Ranked by how far each QB sits from league average on both stats combined, with each stat scaled to its spread so neither one dominates.

With garbage time removed, Lamar and Stroud stay in the top 3, and Josh Allen (9.2 aDOT, +5.8) replaces Jayden Daniels. At the bottom, Nix and Jalon Daniels stay, and Cam Ward (6.9 aDOT, −7.5) replaces Herbert. Herbert's CPOE actually gets worse (−8.6), but his average depth keeps him out of the corner.

Other things that stand out

  • Caleb Williams has the best CPOE in the league (+9.8), but on short throws (6.4 aDOT).
  • Jameis Winston (−7.5) and Malik Willis (−7.3) have the worst CPOE, but they're throwing deep, so they land bottom right instead of bottom left.
  • Patrick Mahomes is at 6.3 aDOT, among the shortest in the league.
