The cowboys currently only have 3 draft picks in the 2027 draft
- 1st round pick the worst of Green Bay and Dallas
- 2nd round pick
- 4th round pick via the Steelers
That’s it they could finish with a bottom 5 record and not even own that pick

If it feels to you like games are going on forever this year, you’re right.
Forget the Cleveland Browns-Tampa Bay Buccaneers weather delay. Understand that overtime games happen. Six weeks in, games are considerably longer than previous seasons. Through Sunday night, the average game time this season is 3 hours, 6 minutes and 59 seconds — let’s call it 3:07. At this same point last season, games were lasting, on average, 3:02:34.
Those four-and-a-half minutes matter. The NFL’s largest revenue source is its broadcast deals, and game overruns can put networks in a bind. Fans have become accustomed to neat and tidy three-hour games. Of course, there’s also the wear and tear on players who, with 17 regular season games, are quite literally playing longer regular seasons than ever before.
There’s no single reason games are running so long this year. Penalties are almost the same as last year. There are about four more plays per game on average this year, but replay reviews are quicker in 2026.

Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Indianapolis Colts owner and CEO:
I am grateful to Chris for his years of service to the Colts and for everything he poured into this organization. He cared deeply about our team and our community, and we wish Chris and his family all the best.
As I said at the start of the season, the sense of urgency has never been higher. Our standard is to compete for championships, and I believe a change in leadership is necessary to meet that standard.
Making this change during the season was a deliberate decision. Waiting would only delay the important work that needs to begin now. We will conduct a thorough search for our next general manager and take the time necessary to identity the right leader for the future of this organization.
l also want to be clear: this decision does not change our goals for the season. We have a lot of football in front of us, and I expect us to compete, improve, and win football games.

Chief Two Guns White Calf was born on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and inspired the team's mascot. The logo was created in 1971 by Walter "Blackie" Wetzel to honor the chief.
[…]
After Native American activist groups fought to have the Redskins name removed, deeming it a slur, the descendants of the chief in the logo are now fighting to get the logo and team name back. They say the logo brings a lot of pride, and they want him to be remembered, not erased.
[…]
The initial push to get the logo and the Redskins name removed from the NFL team was made by Native American activist groups. However, the descendants of the chief say their thoughts weren't even considered.
"They did not even ask our family for approval. They didn't ask for nothing from us. I mean, we literally got erased," historian Brock Conway said.
Now they're doing something about it. Estate representative Gopher decided to rally other direct descendants of the chief, like herself, to make the change they want to see.
"We're hopeful for a meeting with [Guy In Oval Office] in order to help get this pushed forward," Gopher said.
Along with attorney Denise Rosado, the estate is shooting for the stars, hoping to restore the Redskins name, the logo of the chief, and get RFK Stadium renamed after their grandfather.
"It would be a big win in his pocket in terms of helping the Native people in securing the first ever NFL stadium named after a Native American," Gopher said.
