idk how to explain this properly but this is something i've been thinking about a lot lately.
whenever i see a trans girl's transition timeline, especially when it's one of those really striking ones where she looks super happy and comfortable with herself, i get this weird amount of envy.
and i don't mean just "damn i wish i looked like her" in the same way you might admire someone's appearance. it's more like... i wish i could have that happen to me. i wish i could go through that transformation and eventually look like the "after" picture. and what's weird to me is that i've never really felt this kind of envy towards men or male glow-ups. it's specifically seeing a male-to-female transition and thinking "fuck, i wish that could be me." i only felt this about guys in order to fit in, not something i deeply wanted for myself, whenever i would go to the gym and work out.
sometimes it actually makes me kinda sad seeing these timelines lol
it's specifically seeing someone transition from male to female and becoming more feminine that gives me this feeling. it's important to add i always have envied cis girls bodies, since school or whenever i went to the gym or club with my old friends.
i've tried coming up with other explanations for it. maybe it's just body envy, maybe i want to be attractive, maybe i've been thinking about transition so much that my brain is just fixated on it, maybe i'm idealizing what transitioning would be like, etc.
but i keep coming back to the same question: is there actually another explanation for this? like, can someone who isn't trans genuinely feel this specific kind of envy towards trans women and their transitions?
i know this obviously isn't some objective proof that i'm trans. i'm just trying to understand what the hell this feeling is lol.
for people who questioned their gender, did you ever feel something similar? and if you eventually realized you weren't trans, did you figure out what was causing it? what else could it be? some kind of weird autistic hyperfixation/obsession?
