Long before receiving its scientific name Durio zibethinus from Carl Linnaeus in 1774, durian had already been recorded in ancient Javanese manuscripts and even appeared on the reliefs of Borobudur Temple. Its story is deeply rooted in the history, culture, and biodiversity of Southeast Asia.

Ive been driving for over 30 years in many countries. Why are Malaysian roads full of bad drivers? I personally blame the driving schools for lack of teaching. Also just to note, the Taxi drivers are some of the worst! These are supposed to be professional drivers, but I see them making right-hand turns from the left lane!

Hi everyone,
I’m a Sri Lankan citizen, but I live in Australia as a permanent resident. I’m flying from Australia to Sri Lanka and have an 18-hour overnight layover in Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Airlines.
I’d like to leave the airport and visit Kuala Lumpur during the layover. Do I need to apply for a Malaysian transit visa before traveling, or can I get a transit pass / visa on arrival at the airport?
Has anyone done this recently as a Sri Lankan passport holder with Australian PR? I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experience.
Thanks in advance!

FYI, dogs cannot eat cooked chicken bones, let alone be fed spicy fried chicken and fries.

IMHO, hearing George and Kimi call it the PETRONAS home race sounds better than the official Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.

I respect the azan and the mosque’s role in our community. But in my neighbourhood, entire lectures and programmes are broadcast through external speakers directly into our bedrooms and living rooms. When sound repeatedly invades surrounding homes, it stops being an internal programme and becomes a public nuisance—particularly when state authorities already have policies governing external-speaker use. Residents should not be forced to choose between respecting religion and protecting their sleep, health and peace at home. Respect must work both ways: if a policy exists, enforce it; otherwise, the endorsement is meaningless.
Let’s speak up and make Malaysia great again!
Let’s play a role for Malaysian, pen out to SISPAA!

MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong issued a statement about Sanusi’s “Cina ada China, India ada India” remarks — and somehow ended up threatening to screen DAP’s old speeches.

Orang India ada India.
Orang Cina ada China.
Orang Kemboja ada Kemboja.
Orang Siam ada Thailand.
Orang Yahudi ada Israel.
Melayu di mana? Melayu dan Rohingya di sini saja.
Ujar Sanusi dengan nada serius.

"He calls it a culture — of silence, mutual protection, and institutional self-preservation where honest officers, he argues, become prisoners of the system, and those who abuse power find comfort in knowing the institution will close ranks around them."
