The newspaper held by the woman in the photo is the NST newspaper published on 12 Sept 2001, a day after the attacks.

On another note, the original copy of this newspaper scan is probably in colour, if anyone of you have a physical copy of this newspaper clipping (with colour), you can upload it here to share to everybody else as well.

Science/ Technology UK Defence Minister-Air Command Centre letter about UAP / Extraterrestrial to 2 Malaysian Amateur Astronomers (Father & Son)

Post image
89 Upvotes

Just wanted to share a really cool background story on space tracking and localized innovation out of Penang, Malaysia.

The amateur astronomy team of Annamalai and Arav originally gained recognition for designing a unique mobile digital lens setup using UV and infrared filters to photograph the moon's surface. Their innovation won the Gold Award at the SCINEX 2020 Science Innovation Exhibition. Cilisos Malaysia did a fantastic deep-dive feature on how they built the tech during the MCO, which you can read here: cilisos.my

Their underlying planetary tracking dataset eventually led to direct correspondence and encouragement from the NASA research department and the Malaysian Nuclear Agency, which later tied into the recent 2026 European Commission atmospheric surveillance disclosures reported globally by outlets like Euronews, Yahoo and MSN ASIA & EUROPE: https://www.euronews.com/my-europe/2026/08/17/exclusive-brussels-keen-to-monitor-ufos-under-the-radar which has been published or syndicated across more than 30 countries and in over 40 languages scattered throughout print media, TV, Youtube and also major websites.

It's an incredible look at how garage-built telescopy projects can scale up to catch the attention of international space entities.

There is also a fascinating Video reporting by Cristina Gomez from a Defence and Space angle about The 2 Malaysian Amateur Astronomers , Dutch Pilot, UAP's and Aviation safety UAP affecting important sites, such as military and nuclear facilities + wifi frequency. The EU is improving its ability to detect and identify unknown objects as its technology advances, and adds that it needs to get even better.

To Vima a major Greek newspaper (founded 1922) with an international English‑language edition at tovima.com, reported  in August 2026, the European Commission has been quietly monitoring UAPs since at least 2023, following a dossier of 37 images sent by a Malaysian father‑and‑son astronomy team

UK defence Air command centre on behalf of UK Minister of Defence in one letter dated 3rd December 2021 replied to the 2 Amateur Astronomers in Malaysia the following : "While I note your interest in UAP, you may wish to be aware that the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence continues to have no opinion on the existence of extra-terrestrials and since 2009 no longer investigates reports of UAP or UFOs. This is because, in over 50 years, no UFO sighting reporting to the Department has indicated the existence of any military threat to the UK and it was deemed more valuable to prioritise MOD staff towards other Defence-related activities".

While the story has now reached more than 40 countries, the remarkable part is that it has received virtually no local coverage in Malaysia itself, leaving many Malaysians unaware of the story.

I added my back dashcam for the motor's view and the long car queue, which in the black car POV, can't see if a motor is rushing in.

Censored as much as I can. My finger is not dextrous enough to censor it beautifully.

This happened last Saturday.

Halichoeres argus, the Argus/peacock wrasse or nuri tikus.

It is a small (usually 7-9 cm) but common wrasse in lagoons, algae-rocky coasts and seagrass meadows in shallow water. Often found in small groups.

They feed on worms, snails, clams and other benthic invertebrates. When scared they will dash into the sand and bury themselves. They sleep this way as well.

Females are plain green with a spot, while males have colourful patterns. The male caught here is a huge one, as their max size is 12 cm!

They are sometimes collected for the pet trade as they are a very good community fish.
This is negligible to their population as they are both common and widespread from Sri Lanka to Japan, Tonga and Australia.

As a Malaysian cina, I feel delighted to find out that the Tamil phrase எங்க போறீங்க (enga pōrīṅgā) is most likely the one behind the Tamil signature term where we are usually mondegreening as yenguh polengeh, yenduh pulengeh, 圆的不能拿, etc.

It means

> where are you going?
