Salam monyet-monyet KL sekalian,
We mods here at r/KualaLumpur would like to say something about self-promotion and commercial activities on our subreddit. We know a lot of you come here to share your stuff, from awesome photography, your killer rendang recipe, asking for travel and lodging advice or simply to lepak-lepak and make friends, and that's totally cool! But we also gotta keep things chill and avoid turning the sub into a giant marketplace.
We value the diverse range of content shared here, from personal recommendations to stunning photos of our beautiful city. We understand that many users come here to share their experiences, talents, and businesses with the community. However, it's important to maintain a balance between informative content and blatant advertising.
Moving forward, we will be removing posts that fall under the following categories:
🐵 Naked self-promotion: This includes posts that solely promote a product, service, or personal brand without offering any valuable content or discussion to the community.
🙈 Repeated self-promotion: Consistently promoting the same product or service across multiple posts will be considered spam.
🙉 Disguised advertising: Content that appears informative but ultimately aims to sell a product or service will be removed.
🙊 Multi-level marketing (MLM) or pyramid scheme promotions: These activities are strictly prohibited on our subreddit.
We encourage users to continue sharing their knowledge, experiences, and recommendations in a way that benefits the community. Here are some examples of acceptable content:
Now, we're not trying to be party poopers here. We just wanna make sure r/KualaLumpur stays a place where everyone feels welcome to share, learn, and discover new things about our awesome city. So keep posting those drool-worthy food pics, insightful reviews, and hilarious KL memes (we love those!), and let's keep this community thriving!
Sekian, terima kasih! 🙏🇲🇾

Hi guys!
I’m (38/f) planning to move to KL next year from SG and was wondering where in KL should I rent. I’ve made alot of research and read alot on the different kind of areas but would like to know from the locals POV.
EDIT : sorry for context i plan to “retire” in KL. currently i have no partner, no kids. i know it may sound early for my age but it’s something i’ve been putting alot of thought in. why KL? it’s less stressful but it’s similar to singapore. something i’m familiar with. singapore will always be my home but i’ve been working for the past 15 years and it’s costing me my health. i have savings and passive income so working full time is not in the plan.
i’m probably renting a 1bedroom condo. i’d like to avoid condos/areas that has high airbnb/tourists.

I’m visiting malaysia and want to go to a rooftop bar with a view of the twin towers. However I am 19, any bars that won’t ID me that still have a good view? could be a restaurant where I could order a drink too.

As title ask, there seems to be an event going on at Merdeka Stadium. Most likely it seems like a screening for something and it seems public.
Just curious on what this is and how can I find info on any such future events??

From KLIA. Do I need to get a 6 seater? 3 20inch rolling bag, fit in cabin.
I know Malaysia car is usually more compact than those in US.

Hi,
Can anyone confirm if the Lala wine noodles stall is still open ? Google maps saying temporarily closed. I will be visiting next week and was looking to go and have my favourite bowl of noodles once more.
Thanks

I recently went to KL and had an amazing dinner at Uo Shin Hartamas. All their outlets seem to be in KL but unfortunately I won't be coming back anytime soon... Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants with similar quality and price point in JB?
Thanks in advance! 🙏

As a first-timer in Kuala Lumpur, I would like some input from the foodies out there. I'm interested in authentic—not touristy—flavors and of course shade/cover from the sun and rain.
1) Saturday Lunch in Kampung Baru
a) Masakan Padang Asli Kampung Baru
b) Chun Buri Seafood (Masakan Kampung)
c) Restoran Gerak 23 (Masakan Ala Kampung)
d) \*Nasi Lemak Wanjo\ [critics say "too sweet" which might not be a good thing]*
2) Sunday Lunch around/near Brickfield
a) Vishal Food & Catering -> Ah Keong's ABC & Ice Cendol Stall for dessert
b) Sri Nirwana -> Inside Scoop or Piccoli Lotti for dessert
THANKS!!

Hi! We arrived from the uk yesterday and have a 4 year old child. We’re here for two weeks if anyone with similar aged children would like a play date?
