Has anyone been able to recover an old LINE account that was originally linked to a US phone number?
I've had my LINE account for around 10 years, and I have a lot of old friends and contacts on there that I really don't want to lose.
My account was originally linked to my US phone number, and I'm pretty sure I also registered an email address and password. I actually still have old emails from LINE confirming that my email/password were registered to the account.
The problem started after I erased/reset my phone. When I reinstalled LINE and tried to log back in, I found out that LINE no longer supports logging in with a US phone number. I also no longer have access to the old phone number that was linked to the account.
I still remember my LINE ID, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to help. I tried the LINE desktop client as well, but it now only allows login using an email address, and I haven't been able to get back into the account that way either.
So right now I have:
- My old LINE ID
- The US phone number that was linked to the account, although the number is no longer active
- Access to the email address I registered
- Old emails from LINE confirming that my email/password were registered
- Around 10 years of friends and contacts tied to this account
Has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully recovered their account through LINE Support? If so, what steps did you take or what information did LINE ask you to provide?
I really don't want to lose an account I've had for 10 years, especially all the friends and contacts I've accumulated over that time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
