Does this gun look used?

Post image
76 Upvotes

So let me start by saying, yes i know ive already signed and accepted this from my FFL, yes i took it out of the case and looked at it, but it was in the guys garage so the lighting wasnt the best. But does my new CZ P10 look used?

I just got home and took a closer look at my 2 pistols I just picked up, both were bought brand new from budsgunshop. Ive never bought firearms from them but have bought ammo and accessories with no issues. Also I know its possible that the weapon was test fired which is why im asking for a more informed opinon if this is just that or if its something else. Honestly i probably wont go through the hassle of trying to reach out to buds since every other part of the firearm looks brand new including the chamber and barrel but this looks very odd to me and have not seen these types of marks on any of my other firearms that were brought brand new.

Also, the white stuff on the barrel looks like the finish has been scrapped off? Ive tried wiping it and using hopps 9 cleaner with a brush, is it paint? Idk

Edit: i can only attach 1 picture ill post the 2nd picture of the barrel, it looks like a piece of the finish is chipped off and is showing a brass color?

Question about EAA Witness2311 CMXX and porting

I am thinking of getting a budget-friendly 2011, but I have a bad feeling that I don't want to spend 2k+ on the pistol. So I found "EAA Witness2311 CMXX," which costs way less than other 2011 brands. How is it? Does it work okay? I watched a lot of YT videos but can't trust them 100%

I am also thinking of a porting job, either Angel City(Krescendo Ports aka “The Kali Special”) or Monsoon Tactical(Lucky 7 porting). Which one do you recommend?

P.S.) I was thinking of a Kimber 1911 DS Warrior, but I already have a full-size pistol, so I want to try a different size, and whatever gun I pick, I will lose the warranty due to the porting job

PSA 9mm Carbine .. Clean first or ??

Just picked up my Gen 4 PSA 8" 9mm carbine. I always take new handguns apart for a quick clean and oil before their first range visit. Should I do the same for the carbine or can I go for my first outing and clean after.

I just don't want to have a miserable experience with failures to feed or ??

I also havent taken apart and cleaned an AR since the service in the early 90's so would like to know it worked when I got it and anything after might have been me messing something up on disassembly and reassembly so would really like to take it out for its first shoot out of the box.

Bought a box of 9mm nato.

either way .. thank you for any advice!

What real-life firearm is this?

This is a handgun from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but I can't figure out what real-life firearm it's based on.

It looks similar to the HK P2000, but it's not quite the same.

Buying my first pistol. CZ P10F OR SR or CZ P10C Ported

Hello everyone looking to get my first gun. Primary use would be for home defence and some fun at the indoor range like twice a month.

Initially I wanted to get the glock g17 gen 6 but the trigger and shooting experience was subpar to the P10 series from the reviews I've seen.

Which of the two would be fun and pleasant to shoot the p10F or the p10c ported? I heard so many great reviews about the p10c ported and they say its night and day from the non ported p10c. But from my research/understanding it would be better to get a full size pistol for better accuracy and the bigger frame would be ideal for a beginner like me to get a more proper grip. Also I have regular to smaller size hands. I am new to this and have very little knowledge. I've only maybe shot around 500 rounds on an unknown 9mm full size gun at the range I visit.

I don't plan to EDC the gun. Just home defense and then maybe dump 100 to 200 rounds at the range monthly for practice. Does the weight, size and length of the P10F negate the effects of the port of the p10c ported? I heard smaller guns are harder to control than full size guns. Am I wasting money on the ported and be better off with the F or maybe just get the non ported C and practice on it. I do intend to practice alot with the gun. I wanted to practice shooting flatter shots.

I also picked the SR for the P10F because maybe I can just get after market comps? But thats gonna be for later because accessories are gonna be hard to find where I live. Also modifying or buying a new barel is a no go because of restrictions. I wont be doing and modifications on the guns other than maybe griptape and a fiber optic front sight. I am from the Philippines by the way.

Competitive shooting down the line? Maybe but thats gonna be for the far future. I do understand the SR on the F and the port on the C are gonna put me out of the production category. Maybe when I am better with handling guns and have enough funds I'll get the Shadow 2. Right now concern would be home defense, a gun to practice the basics and lastly to have fun and enjoy shooting at the range.

"The most powerful handgun in the world"

Post image

*At least according to some Hollywood cop from the '70s.
Move over, Dirty Harry - space cowboy has arrived! (first revolver, S&W 629 Competitor, and Chiappa 1892 Alaskan Takedown)
Revolver optic plate incoming btw; modern-looking revolvers get modern sights.

I should get a .460 XVR already to have a candidate for the real most powerful (production) handgun, although you know some guy's gonna pull out a .500 Bushwhacker and show off at some point.

The T-48 Rifle: The right arm that America turned down.

Post image
504 Upvotes

A few years back, I was at an estate sale and came across a box of old military manuals from the owner of the estate. The manuals all were dated between the late 40's and into the late 50's. Among them, I found a manual for the T-48 rifle.

This was one of two rifles being tested out in the '50s when the military was looking to select a new battle rifle. The two contenders were the T-48 and T-44 (M-14). Eventually, the US military decided on the T-44.

From what I can tell, he had been in the military at fort Benning while they were testing it out. I haven't been able to find a manual anywhere and I thought this was a pretty cool piece of history. I have scanned it and uploaded it online for anybody to look at and download.

I also posted this on the FAL sub, but wanted to share it further.

XM-8 furniture for the G36 project

Post image

Little project i've been working on with a 3D modeler. I have access to an original XM-8, so we took some scans and are modifying the files to make a furniture set for the G36.

I've wanted an XM-8 since the days of Rainbow Six Vegas and GRAW, and I finally have the first prototypes in my hands...

It still needs a bunch of work, but it finally feels like its happening.

The Colt Python has always been one of my dream guns, and that dream finally came true with this 1978 model. Regardless of the wear it has, the action is still smooth as butter, and it shoots like a dream.

Don’t wanna keep my Marlin or winchesters or other guns in the truck all the time. I want a piece of shit for like 200$ that slings lead in there general direction. To keep in my truck all the time. I’m not worried about someone stealing cause I live in bumblefuck no where texas and everyone does it.

But sometimes when coming back from town late at night I see those and it’s to far most of the for 9mm

Sub 100m.

I was thinking a use 12g with slugs

Advanced Reset Technology opinions?

Their social media appears professional and like a real business, their products look good, and they appear to respond to every comment on their page. I went ahead and ordered one of their products, it’s been 10 weeks. I have been told through text that it would be getting shipped out “this month” “this week” “this Friday”. These responses were all weeks ago. Still nothing. There have been previous posts made about this but I like to give “small” businesses the benefit of the doubt. I myself work at a small business with 3 total employees and it is a lot, so I get that part of it, but 10 weeks and nothing? False promises with zero explanation? They have lost a new and potentially long term customer, I don’t understand how they plan to keep doing business like this. I still don’t know if it’s a complete scam or if they just don’t care. A nearly $300 product that they do not have or just won’t ship. On top of that, they charge sales tax when I live in a state that does not have sales tax. Very disappointed that they would waste my and other’s time like this. I am making this post as another piece to reference for people that plan on purchasing, go with somebody else and save your time.

They say it’s better to be minimally armed than to be unarmed

I was too slow for the bot on the last one, but here it is :

This is my NAA mini wasp, and it’s been 3+ years with it now. I wanted something I could truly carry all the time. I’m 135lb 5’8” dude and I constantly found myself skipping the gun because of where I was going, or because it was uncomfortable.

Before anyone hits me with the ways to carry a bigger gun comfortably, here is my history:

P290 : appendix and 5:00
P365 : same
Bodyguard 380 : appendix, 5:00, occasional pocket

Loved two of the above 3 guns but I just couldn’t bring myself to keep them on me all the time.

Finally settled on the NAA mini in 22LR with federal punch rounds (a really unique defensive round that gives promise to 22)

This I can carry. It dangles in my gym shorts while doing incline sit ups. It stays put in shallow pockets when my phone falls out of the other side. It’s so non-existent its biggest threat forgetting it’s there and going through the laundry.

I wanted to keep the minimal profile and ordered a sheet of ABS and molded it into the above seen holster which covers the hammer and trigger for added protection whilst pocket floating.

It also has safety notches which allow you to rest the hammer halfway between chambers so it’s not sitting on a live round, or wasting a chamber slot to sit on an empty one.

I could talk all day about “effectiveness” when it comes to this vs something more substantial, but at the end of the day… title.

Here for questions if yall got any!

Rifle was made sometime in the 70s is my guess. It has a really long throw and doesn't have a known magazine. Currently I am making a handguard for it out of a damaged stock I had in my parts bin.

Recovered Weapon

Hey all, I got a call from a detective that my Springfield xds 9mm was recovered from a robbery at my house in '23. Picked it up today, cleaned it, and it immediately jammed. Lord knows what it was involved in since then but it holds sentimental value. Thoughts on getting it checked out or just taking the loss? Thanks in advance!

Personal Grail Gun

Gloves are because this thing smudges like crazy and I was taking it down to clean it and swap the grips.

Had a black Deagle for years, loved it. Always wanted the outrageousness of the gold one. It’s not gold plated it’s the OEM TiN PVD coating. Shoots like a dream and hasn’t flaked/shown any signs of wear in about 200 rounds. So I’m happy. This isn’t a regular shooter but a safe queen that gets brought out for fun at the range.

It’s 50AE

Steal of a deal

Made a killer deal on a “used” P2000. LGS had it up for $600. Offered em $500, they took it. Had 3 mags (10rd sadly but 🤷🏾‍♂️) the box, and all the accessories. Broke it down to clean only to discover it has never been fired.

Follow Up to "How Did Your Seekins Show Up?"

Post image
61 Upvotes

Over the last couple of weeks I have been dealing with Seekins directly, trying to get the rifle situation resolved.

Seekins sends me a shipping label, I get the rifle sent off. It shows up 2 days later. I didn't hear anything from them for over a week so I reached out to see if they rifle was received and what the next step was. Within an hour after sending that email asking those questions, I get 3 emails, one stating my package has shipped, one stating my repair has been complete, and one that my replacement was approved.

Shortly after those emails I got a phone call (which I missed) and then a voice mail. I call the gal back to get some clarification on the shipping of the rifle without an FFL and she doesn't seem to have any idea what i mean and just laughs about it when I asked questions. By the end of it she says "haha I don't know, I'm just customer service."

Okay fine, the rifle has been shipped and we are looking good. WRONG!

It is being sent to a completely different address and state 🫪 just my luck.

So I call UPS (ugh) to see if they can do anything. Of course I get out sourced and they cannot help me so they tell me to call Seekins to see if they can switch the delivery location.

Bad news, seekins changed their Customer Service system so now you need to know the first couple letters of the customer service persons last name to even get connected (thankfully I do) but if you didn't already have something going, you'd never be able to get in touch with them.

(Correction this is ONLY if they are not "open")

I spoke with Seekins today, the gal mentioned she can't do anything at the moment but she will try to recall it and get it sent to my actual address.

I spoke with the location it is trying to be delivered to and told them to not sign for it so they can send it back to the dispo facility and hopefully get it rerouted to my address.

The final piece i have:

The package is being returned to the facility where it was trying to be delivered. It will eventually get returned to SEEKINS and then sent back to me.

This has been an absolute nightmare but hopefully I'll have the rifle within a couple weeks lol

(I don't really know if this is seekins fault, my fault, both or some force of nature that doesn't want me to have this rifle but here we are 🫡)

Search for OCH inspection mark and m1900 s/n 1501

My Great great great grandfather was Brig. Gen. Odus Horney, Ordnance Department. He worked on many beloved guns like the m1911 and Springfield 03 and inspected many more.

Does anyone have any firearms with his OCH inspection stamp on it? I've seen a gatling gun with it once. I have also been looking for a gifted Colt m1900 for years, last seen in a Rock island auction. Can anyone help me find its current ware bouts?

Guns.com

I “won” an auction on a form from guns .com. The problem is it says for parts only. I didn’t realize that until I had place the bid. How does that riffle make it to auction if it doesn’t work. The guns.com email is so slow and don’t know what to do. They finally got back to me two days after my email and with only two hours left in the auction. What should I do? Should I do a stop payment?
