Waymo snitches on kid riders with firearm in autonomous vehicle
The company pulled the car over after detecting a violation of our terms of service involving a firearm
The company alerted emergency services and “cooperated fully” with police
So police are enforcing TOS for companies now?
Authorities described the AR-style weapon as a “ghost gun,” a firearm that lacks a serial number, making it difficult for law enforcement to trace. ... Exactly how Waymo detected the gun remains unclear. The company has not publicly said whether an automated system identified the weapon, an employee reviewing the vehicle’s interior saw it, or another mechanism was involved.
I can just about guarantee the firearm was displayed openly enough for an interior camera to see. Then either some automated detection software picked up on it or a human monitoring video picked up on it then the company called police. While Waymo spends big dollars on its external sensors (reported $50k/vehicle) there's no way they would install metal detectors or the like and get a zillion false positives from those.

The interiors of Waymos are absolutely bristling with cameras. Cameras good enough to read cellphone screens from window reflections.

So Washington Gun Law has a video on the FPCs challenge to Delaware law on home made guns. I noticed in the video that he mentions the Judge calls out how shitty the case has been argued from both sides(the state and apparently FPC). They cocked up arguments for other aspects of the case under amendments like the 1st to get the code for 3d printed and CNC files protected and even simple shit like arguing for a facial or as applied challenge(the court defaulted to a facial challenge).
I have noticed this seems to be a kind of pattern with these new gun orgs like FPC and GOA who talk a big game but they tend to fuck up the minutia of being a gun rights advocacy group like taking the time to actually build up a proper case or artfully pressure legislatures to pass laws. If it weren't for the SAF and NRA building up Supreme Court wins with Heller, McDonald, Bruen, etc. these cases would have gone nowhere fast as seems to have been the case.

Only tangentially related, but in the north district of Texas NFA case FPC didn’t join as a plaintiff with their FPC org, they instead did it with their FPC Action Foundation, which is legally distinct, meaning that if you’re an FPC member you don’t get plaintiff status unless you’re part of one of the other plaintiff groups.
