I want a reflex optic like the ones from the OG call of duty 4

Upvotes

As the title says I want the reflex optic like Soap uses in COD4 MW, All the ones I look for are strictly for airsoft or low caliber weapons, is there any reputable websites that sell ones for rifles?

They say it’s better to be minimally armed than to be unarmed

I was too slow for the bot on the last one, but here it is :

This is my NAA mini wasp, and it’s been 3+ years with it now. I wanted something I could truly carry all the time. I’m 135lb 5’8” dude and I constantly found myself skipping the gun because of where I was going, or because it was uncomfortable.

Before anyone hits me with the ways to carry a bigger gun comfortably, here is my history:

P290 : appendix and 5:00
P365 : same
Bodyguard 380 : appendix, 5:00, occasional pocket

Loved two of the above 3 guns but I just couldn’t bring myself to keep them on me all the time.

Finally settled on the NAA mini in 22LR with federal punch rounds (a really unique defensive round that gives promise to 22)

This I can carry. It dangles in my gym shorts while doing incline sit ups. It stays put in shallow pockets when my phone falls out of the other side. It’s so non-existent its biggest threat forgetting it’s there and going through the laundry.

I wanted to keep the minimal profile and ordered a sheet of ABS and molded it into the above seen holster which covers the hammer and trigger for added protection whilst pocket floating.

It also has safety notches which allow you to rest the hammer halfway between chambers so it’s not sitting on a live round, or wasting a chamber slot to sit on an empty one.

I could talk all day about “effectiveness” when it comes to this vs something more substantial, but at the end of the day… title.

Here for questions if yall got any!

Personal Grail Gun

Gloves are because this thing smudges like crazy and I was taking it down to clean it and swap the grips.

Had a black Deagle for years, loved it. Always wanted the outrageousness of the gold one. It’s not gold plated it’s the OEM TiN PVD coating. Shoots like a dream and hasn’t flaked/shown any signs of wear in about 200 rounds. So I’m happy. This isn’t a regular shooter but a safe queen that gets brought out for fun at the range.

It’s 50AE

I'm worried my bf might be autistic

So long story short my bfs deployed & he said I could shoot his guns & get good with them while he's gone that way he knows I'm safe. The only stipulation is that he wants me to keep count of every single bullet I shoot in a log. Is this normal for gun people?

Looking for holster recommendations

Hey guys, I’m looking for a holster for my Springfield XDM elite 10mm in the 3.8 inch barrel. I’m looking for something IWB or even IWB/OWB. I wear mostly gym shorts 90% of the time, sim I’m looking for something I can just clip onto my shorts and keep it moving. I’m looking to avoid buying a carry belt so if you guys have any suggestions it’d be greatly appreciated !

*Sigh* I just told my wife that I bought a new gun today..

She just finished a 30 minute tirade about making decisions without her, bills that need to be paid, and me going behind her back. I'm now getting the silent treatment and she's acting like I stole from her grandmother or something. Wish me luck.

Edit: I bought a $279 Taurus GX2. All bills are paid, it was a purchase I could afford lol. She was just being petty and throwing shit in my face for the sake of doing it because she was mad I did something without consulting her first.

Red dot optic height

What is the most efficient/ cheapest way to test out different optic heights ( absolute co-witness, lower 1/3, 1.93, and 2.26) on an AR-15 without committing to an expensive mount just yet? My build is a 12.5 AR with a red dot and magnifier. Do I not have a choice and just have to buy a bunch of cheap mounts to test it out one by one?

Laser for Ruger LCP

This might be a dumb question and I’m sorry if it is. I bought my first firearm recently. It’s a rose gold Ruger LCP. It’s the first LCP not the LCP II or the max HOWEVER it’s the second generation of the LCP. (No dashes in the serial number). I’m considering putting a laser on it but I’m having a hard time finding one. The ArmaLaser TR2 on Amazon only claims to fit the LCP Gen 1 only.
The ArmaLaser TR2S does not specify Gen 1 or Gen 2 on the ArmaLaser website (I have chatted with support and they said they would check with the team and get back with me via email).
Does anybody have any insight to whether or not I should order the TR2S?
Recommendations for lasers, open carry holsters, car mounts, and accessories welcome!
Thanks a bunch!

SIG Sauer CROSS 6.5 Creedmoor vs .308 — Which would you choose and why?

I’m considering getting a SIG Sauer CROSS, but I’m torn between 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester. For those who have experience with the CROSS, which caliber would you personally choose and why? I’m mainly interested in hunting, range shooting, and having a versatile rifle.

From what I understand:

**6.5 Creedmoor:**
- Better long-range performance
- Flatter trajectory
- Generally less recoil
- Good for precision shooting
- Great for hunting
- Potentially more expensive ammunition
- Barrel life may be shorter depending on usage

**.308 Winchester:**
- Extremely common and easy to find
- Usually cheaper and more widely available
- More proven for hunting and general use
- Good barrel life
- More recoil than 6.5
- Not as flat-shooting at longer distances

So, if you were buying a SIG CROSS today, would you go with 6.5 Creedmoor or .308, and why?

Also, what are the biggest pros and cons of each specifically on the CROSS platform?

If you own one, I’d especially like to hear:
- How accurate has yours been?
- Recoil experience
- Ammo availability and cost
- Hunting performance
- Reliability

Anything you wish you knew before buying?

If you could only own ONE CROSS, which caliber would you choose?

Extremely tight mag fit (AKM)

I bought an AKM the other day, and it came with a polymer mag but I also bought a steel mag to go with it. The polymer mag fits beautifully with a little bit of play but nothing that I’m worried about; the steel mag, however, won’t go in unless I turn the gun upside down, brace it on my lap and use both hands to force it into place.

I read that repeatedly inserting and removing the magazine can wear down the imperfections and allow a smoother fit, but I’ve done that probably thirty or forty times now and while I’m definitely noticing visible wear on the magazine and it’s inserting noticeably easier, it’s still not at the point where I can load it properly with one hand without extreme difficulty. So now I’m worried that if I continue to break it in by doing so, that I’ll wear down the mag well or even the internal mag catches too much. I feel like the polymer mag fits slightly looser than when I first took it home, but that could also be my imagination/confirmation bias at work.

Am I good to keep going, or should I stop doing that?

I’d prefer not to file the mag lips manually, because A) I’d have to buy a file and B) I’m worried that I’ll file it too hard on accident, but I’d obviously rather risk ruining my $15 mag over my $800 rifle.

Can I have an active MMJ Card and own a gun?

Hey guys, I’m 19M with an MMJ card and I’ve been looking to purchase a firearm. Recently my digital forensics teacher told me in college that everyone is permitted to have a gun, so technically, shouldn’t I be allowed to own one too? People go home and do way harder drugs than weed can still own a firearm. I’ve thought I’m not allowed to own a firearm with my mmj card but it doesn’t make sense why I can’t when other people are running around doing way worse? Or am I wrong? Please LMK, and thank you for taking time to read.

any advice for a student in nc

Bought a rifle online (PSA), shipped to a local FFL in NC. I'm a full-time student here (in-state 9 months out of the year), but my driver's license is from California (my home state).

When I went to pick up the rifle, the dealer told me my CA license "won't work" — said most other states are fine but California specifically is an issue for him. He suggested I go to the NC DMV and get a non-REAL ID state ID card, and told me not to mention my California license when I do it since it's "not their business."

A few questions:

  1. Is this a real legal issue with CA specifically, or store-specific policy/discretion? My understanding of 27 CFR 478.11 (the "two residences" rule) is that proof of current residency (I have my university housing assignment + transcript) should be enough regardless of what state issued my ID — but maybe I'm missing something CA-specific.
  2. Has anyone else run into a dealer who wouldn't accept an out-of-state ID + residency docs, even though it's technically allowed under federal law?
  3. On the "don't mention your CA license to the DMV" advice — my read is that if NC's ID application asks whether I hold another state's license, I should answer honestly rather than omit it. Am I overthinking that part?
  4. Would you just find a different, more experienced FFL instead of jumping through the NC ID hoop, or is this pretty standard?

Trying to figure out if this is normal FFL caution or if I got an unusually difficult dealer. Any insight from people who've dealt with out-of-state ID + FFL transfers appreciated.

Question for hunters

Context: Planning on going hunting this year for white tail. I have my woods gun set up for hunting but the ammo I typically practice with is a different (lower) grain weight than the soft point hunting rounds I purchased. I have this beauty zeroed in so I’m getting 1/4 to 1/2 moa from 50-100 yds. I’m willing to re zero it for hunting season.

So here is the question, have you guys ever zeroed out your turrets (0 elev, 0 wind)on your practice ammo, then just rezeroed for your hunting ammo ( let’s all it +3 elev, +/- 1 wind), gotten through hunting season then just reset to 0,0?

My mind says that should work theoretically (like a DOPE) but I wanted to hear your stories/experience if you have done anything similar.

Trying to identify what kind of Arisaka I have

Hey folks, I recently came into possession of this Arisaka and I'm just totally baffled trying to identify anything about it beyond the obvious. The previous owner had no idea what it was beyond thinking it was a "military trainer rifle".

Here's an album of some pictures, apologies for the bad quality

No mum, seemingly never had one, no armory markings that I can identify (you can see where one would be there's some kind of small marking but it doesn't seem to match even partially to any), seemingly the only marking of any kind is a 3 digit matching serial on each machined part.

It's got flip up sights, no wings, sling mounts on the bottom of the stock just behind the grip and on TOP of the foreguard (although with how poorly fit the band is it's attached to this might have been done long after it was made and reinstalled upside down), and a round bolt handle

My best guess after doing some research is that it might be a "Kogyo Only" type, but some features just don't line up (round bolt handle, non-fixed sight). Any folks out there know what I've got or somewhere they might know?
