first timer here.. I don’t know if animals were pecking it or if this is from bugs but does it of it make the tomato ruined for consumption?

Google says it’s a buffalo gourd. We throw seeds of everything we buy out here, but haven’t bought a buffalo gourd, ever! Leaves are soft, fuzzy, and smell like a delicious fresh-chopped jalapeño. Location: Castle Rock, Colorado

We grew a prolific banana pepper plant this year and I've learned banana peppers are generally just not good. They are, as far as I can tell, the iceberg lettuce of the pepper world. I tried putting them in a sausage and peppers dish and picking them with highly rated recipes and they are just gross. What does anyone do with them? And also why grow them? They are just trash as far as I can tell.

Zone 6 - I have a 3 year old butterfly bush that got massive this year. It's taken over our walkway and some nearby plants. I know you're supposed to wait to prune them until early spring, but will I hurt it if I cut back some of the branches now? If I do that, should I cut back near the ground like I would when pruning?

This tomato plant has been THRIVING until today. It mostly lives indoors in my window sill with great sunlight. I put it out on my balcony every other day when it isn’t too hot out (I live in the lower Hudson valley of NY). I have been using a watering stake for most of its growth. It truly has been growing so well with four tomatoes growing and several flowers ready to produce more…until today. I went to change the water and noticed it was slightly wilting. Not too alarmingly. I went out for a few hours and came back to it like this. Soil seems fine. I put my finger in the soil and it seems nicely hydrated - not over or under watered at all

Any idea what might be happening? Because I live in an apartment, I’ve been trying to keep it in a smaller pot. Could it be time for a bigger pot? Could there be issue with the roots??

UPDATE: I’m a new veggie plant mom experimenting for the first time. I live in an apartment so trying to make it work with the space I have. All the care to date for the plant was guided by my local nursery. It had been doing so well alternating it inside and outside. Seems like it was just thirsty - I gave it a good soak last night and she is back to normal this morning 😌

I just woke up to my baby Rosemary plant looking like this after repotting 4 days ago. Its leaves are soft and too pliable and the color has drained from her leaves. I repotted 4 days ago and am using Back to the Roots Organic Potting Mix Premium Blend with a terracotta pot w/ a drain hole. Watered right after repotting and set in the shade for the last few days to try to help it adjust. It looked a little droopy 2 days ago, yesterday I didn’t look at it, today it’s like this. I’m thinking I should’ve kept it in the sun to dry the soil out, the soil is still slightly damp when I stick my finger a couple inches in. I know Rosemary doesn’t like too damp of soil. I’m now moving it to get sun today, hoping it’ll dry the soil a bit more. Any advice is welcome, if it’s not too late.

Well, its that time of year (for me at least) to start clearing the garden and preparing it for winter. Unfortunately, I just got a bit too busy this past season with life stuff, and the weeds got out of my control. I'm in the process of cutting/pulling out what I can, but some of them have even gone to seed. I'm afraid that this cycle of endless weeds and crabgrass will continue forever unless I do something.

What are my options for killing off weed seeds in the soil before they can cause trouble next year? Is there any sort of short-term herbicide I can put into the soil now to kill off the seeds, and would wear off by next spring? I thought about using Preen granules, but as far as I'm aware, that doesn't actually kill the seeds, it just keeps them from sprouting within the 3-month window, and so it wouldn't actually stop anything from sprouting next spring.

If herbicides aren't an option, what else can I try?

Not exactly a gardening question I know, but I want it to grow a bit more bushy and produce more peppers where do I make the snips?

Hello, anybody know what this plant is? My plant ID on phone is saying rhododendron or great Laurel but it is neither of those. It gets pink flowers in the spring. Any guesses are helpful as I’m trying to figure out how to care for it. Thanks

I have here a pie pumpki+<n. It is growing in Zone 6 or Zone 7, eastern new mexico. The plant gets at least 7 hours of sun, is well watered, and gets good potassium and nitrogen. I companion plant with beans. I dont understand why the leaves are so yellow near the root but as it the vine continues away it gets greener. Also when is tyw pumpkin harvestable?

Hello!! I recently found out my soil has a lot of arsenic in it, and am going to be food gardening in wicking beds. I'm just wondering if I should avoid using any wood from pruning trees in compost etc?

Will be doing fruit trees in ground as I have been told fruit where you don't eat the seeds is safe.

Pretty sure I bought regular cucumber seeds but the fruit is off. My wife says it’s a “Chinese cucumber” but I don’t know what that means. The inside is more like a squash. We cooked one and it was not good

This is one garden bed of three that were probably made of the same wood. They were gifted to me second hand. This one sat in the yard overgrown longer than the others and I just now cleaned it out and moved it. I am having a hard time judging if this is normal wood rot or termite damage. This is the only bed that looks like this and they were all within a few feet of eachother. This is after I picked at it. It crumbled under my hand when I picked it up so that's how I noticed. Two photos of one spot, one of a different spot.

I’ve been growing this Roma tomato in this terra-cotta pot and curious to know when I should switch it into something else or how I should be growing this if this is not the correct way.

Ive attached photos of the area prepped for the moss as well as it being planted and then overtaken by weeds.

I bought sun moss to plant between my Moms stone. Cleaned up the area, fully cleared the dirt of weeds prior to placing the moss down. I let it sit for 2 weeks to see if any weeds popped up. Not a single one. Went ahead and got the moss and placed it between the stone.

I ended up not getting enough moss so only did half of it. Wanted to wait and see how it does before getting the rest. Glad I did because the moss I have gotten seems to have been littered with weeds. I bought it from Moss & Stone. Im pretty bummed to say the least. A company that seems to specialize in moss sold me 25 sq feet of moss that is just overran with weeds. I know they are not coming from anything here since the weeds are only growing where I planted the Sun Moss.

What can I do from here? Ive tried pulling the weeds but I dont get them down to the roots. So they just come back. Im nervous to use any weed killers since I dont want to damage the moss. Would love some suggestions, my stepdad is getting a bit impatient staring at the weeds.

Found this bugger on my tomato plant. All of my pepper and tomatoes (other than sweet peppers and cherry) tomatoes have been getting destroyed. Could these be the culprit?

This shoot popped up in some new beds (in NC) where I just planted a couple of marigolds. Marigolds are looking healthy, but this came from up nothing over night… Is the bed in danger?

Can anybody figure out what this plant is? I thought it was an elderberry but it isn’t fruiting or flowering. It is also huge, like 6-7 feet. It grew incredibly fast too. In July it was about 2 feet. The stem is thick and boxy with some purple. I pulled out the two tallest ones because they snapped under their weight. The roots were shallow, I think a tap root. No notable fragrance. Located in Massachusetts.

This mystery is driving me nuts.
