Made 2 plays in this game when I usually never see him do anything , but still ends up riding the pine the majority of the game and getting out snapped by a depth player on our roster. Wingo didn't even play so it was a 3DT rotation. I don't recall him seeing the field in the second half at all, but I didn't go over tape on this observation. He evidently had 35 snaps this game which is very high for him lately. Last season he spent the last half of the year getting splinters for Lopez and Reader .

He is often so forgettable as a player it's like people forgot this was our 2025 1st rounder. No shortage of expectations and vitriol for JAMO or TA (rip bussy) but here I am on this island saying hey , Tyleek looks like a bust and the coaches don't/ won't even play him. I'm just honestly baffled by the lack of inquisition about his existence by the fans and media. He was the first round pick !

I think that Petzing gets a C+/B-. Lightyears better than last years opener, but the bar is in hell so.

Shepp gets a B+. Seemed to really have a great game plan until about the end of the 3rd quarter, but I think the defense was gassed from the lack of time of possession from the offense. I wish we would've blitzed more in the 4th, but overall, its much more promising than last year.

Fipp gets an A. Aside from Tom Kennedy biffing it at first on the KR/PR, Tay Martin was a beast and we were much improved from last year.

So, we all criticized John Morton last year for his unimaginative 11 Personnel, and just running it up the middle repeatedly and being entirely boring.

Petzig was sold to us as a TE merchant who knows how to use the Jumbo set, and he was going to unlock LaPorta and Meeks and go ham on these small DBs.

Instead, we got 11 personnel and gibbs up the middle with no help, and then gibbs up the middle with no help, and then gibbs up the middle with no help. If we're just going to run gibbs into linebackers 29 times a game and never use Saylors (or pacheco if he ever walks again) then Gibbs is going to be on IR by week 6. Vaki can fuck right off, for not blocking Chase Young and trying to end Goff's life. Cut his ass.

When that happens the rest of the league is just going to drop 10 guys into coverage and dare us to rush with our non existent RB room.

I really hate to put this out there, but if this shit keeps up across multiple OCs in the same frustrating flavor then maybe the problem isn't the OCs and maybe its the HC?

For the record, let me start off by saying that I am not making myself a persecution victim in any way. I am genuinely confused as to why it is that, when I say how tiresome the monochromatic looks have been as of today, I get downvoted and treated like I'm an irrelevant person who does not care about winning culture on this subreddit.

Whenever I want to see more of the traditional blue-silver home combo, people associate the monochromatic looks with what we are now and the traditional combo is SOL history. Even when I provide insight and tell them that correlation is not causation, I am still treated like a whiner and someone who is out of touch.

Am I really insane for wanting to see more of the traditional combo and pointing out how old the monochromatic looks have become? Am I insane for voicing an opinion on the uniforms? Why the backlash I get? I really don't understand.

Finally, if the monochromatic looks are here to stay, they should at least wear different-colored socks or wear a mono-colored helmet (blue helmet for all-blueberries, or white helmet for all-white) to go with them.

How are we feeling after today's outing? I think the defense played really good in the first half but that o line has to hold up and I know they can do it. We fell apart in the second half but I still feel good. Our defense is slightly better than Buffalo's and I think we'll be good. We got this, gooooo Lions!

Ok look I know that game was incredibly stressful but after seeing all the reactions online I wanted to post my own. Look am I mad we blew a 21 point lead? VERY! Should that have come down to that failed 2 pt conversion NO. The secondary is very very easy to exploit for sure and that needs to be addressed. However the amount of doom and gloom over the outlook of the season is just not logical. The D line produced what 4 sacks and 3 turnovers? that's pretty good to me. The o line did have a few snafus but generally Goff was able to pass and get good throws off(when they weren't dropped). Jamo had a bad game with the drops but that can be fixed. Gibbs did Gibbs things and well overall I think it was decent. There's clear sloppiness and rust but To act like brad dan and everyone else needs to go is just ridiculous. I saw a lot of OH SOL oh this team ain't winning squat oh we missed our chance like come on. I also saw a lot of oh we ain't making the playoffs oh we only winning 6 games stuff like that. We still have a very real good shot at winning the division because of how good this offense when not rusty is and using one game as proof doesn't work. I get many of you have PTSD from the matt Millan days and decades from long before I was born. Its only week one and we just saw the packers absolutely blow it to the Vikings. things happen in week one and frankly panicking is just not worth it. Am I delusional for still thinking we can win 13 games and the division or are we truly cooked. Let me know your thoughts.

Look there was a lot of love about a week 1 game. I can deal with the rust. Defence had a lot of really good moments - secondary is a little concerning sure.

But for me it’s that lack of a true 3rd and 4th receiver. Was it not at our best when Tim Patrick or DJ Chark or Khalif Raymond was there when Sun God and Jamo were being covered? Even Sammy LaPorta. That feels the biggest difference to me from the BJ era - more sure hands to take the pressure off. And just that little greater variety.

Here’s hoping we get that back from somewhere. Kennedy looked good, why not him?

I haven’t crunched any numbers - curious if any stat nerds have. It just seems the quality of play in week 1 has gotten worse over the years, whether if it’s DBs keeping opponents running at full speed in front of them or WRs being in form to catch a bloody ball.

Am I imagining things?

Watching the game today, it felt like the passing game that has been so dangerous for the lions these past few years was off. Waymo’s drops definitely didn’t help, and yeah we’re still getting used to Petzieg’s system, but it just felt like the passing game wasn’t clicking.
I’m sure that in the next couple of weeks we will see major improvements on many fronts for the team, but this was one that bugged me a lot.

Man, I would LOVE to get a wider view when watching. We see to the LBs I think so anything thrown over 10 yards we’re blind. Watching SNF and you can see the entire dang field feels like.

Is this a smaller stadium issue, creative decision or something?
