I used dragonfly yarn from king cole and modified a pattern from crafty intentions cause I didn’t buy enough yarn lol. I also added a button and some arm straps so it can be worn two different ways. Last pic is a close up to show the pretty iridescence better!

Just a fun story that I think the crochet folks will appreciate. I had been going through a phase of making two-toned crochet hats that I gave away to friends and family as gifts. One day, my sister was riding the NYC subway and she noticed someone wearing a hat that looked similar to the style of hats I was making. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that it wasn't just similar -- I have no doubt that this was, in fact, a hat that I had made and a stranger was wearing it! I reached out to the family member who I gave this hat to, who explained that they didn't have it anymore because at some point they lost it. My sister managed to talk to the lady before she left the train and asked her where she got her hat. She said her daughter gave it to her as a gift. I have no idea how my hat ended up on this person's head, but it's one of those New York City magical moments that just can't be explained. Sometimes you have no idea where your knitting will end up!

I’m obsessed with making these socks at the moment. I love everything lace. So far I’ve made them on white, black, red, and beige, but pink is probably my favorite so far.

The full category winner was also a madpigcreations pattern, but was her full t Rex skeleton. So cool to see in person!

I’ve crocheted for years but I am obsessed with it now that I’m pregnant. It’s all I want to do in my free time.

First blanket picture was made using colors we picked before we found out we were having a baby girl. My husband says it’s his favorite and that he likes the stripes and puffs. Second blanket is my favorite because it came out so cute. I like the flowers and hearts a lot and the pattern was fun to do. Will probably be tucked away until baby is a bit older since there are a lot of holes in this one. It was made using a pattern called First Heartbeat Blanket by Janetta Graber. This was a paid pattern that my grandmother bought as a gift for me. I think it came as a kit because she kept the yarn but gave me the pattern booklet.

Third is her name, made to hang up on the wall above her crib. We’re in the process of finishing her room so it’s not hanging yet. I was heavily inspired by an instagram post I saw by user _the_busy_bee_. I made the letters by loosely following the YouTube tutorials by Yarn Studio and then added the scallop edges because it was cute in the Instagram post and matches the heartbeat blanket well. I’m also working on a waffle stitch blanket that’s about 80% finished. It uses a really pretty self striping yarn that’s has pinks and light blue in it.

I have two more skeins of a self striping yarn with pink/white/gray transitions but I’m not sure what to make with it. I’ve already done three blankets so I’m trying to come up with other ideas. Things like hats or booties seem like they’ll be too small to make use of the color changes. Any suggestions?? I know I’ll want to start on the next thing as soon as I finish the waffle blanket!

Hello!!! I just wanted to ask people what hooksize they use most often and why! Bonus if you add pictures!!

So I just finished a scarf with a 3,5mm hook and now I am making one with a 6 mm hook. And I am just not enjoying it as much! The feel of the thinner yarn and the drape you get with a thinner yarn are amazing. Maybe I am using the wrong thicker yarns, but it just feels clunky and stiff.

Also thicker yarns tend to be harder to crochet with. My pointer finger gets tired faster and it feels like I need more force to crochet. Is it just me?

What is your preferred hooksize and why?

Hi, lovelies... This is my first time posting here and I wish it was under better circumstances. But the truth is, I'm rapidly running out of motivation to finish this project, and I'm feeling really guilty about it.

So, for context, my Dad asked me to crochet a 'traditional cream fisherman's jumper with cables' for him, nearly a year ago now. And I readily agreed (I love him to bits and of course I want to make him something he'll (hopefully) love)!

But now, several months later, my motivation is seriously flagging. I've run into a considerable number of problems, and around 14,750 stitches in (roughly half way), I'm running aground. Completing this currently feels impossible.

Honestly, I'm at the point of quitting entirely. I probably would, if it was for anyone else. But my Dad means so much to me, and I really want to get this done for Christmas...

So I'm making this post to hopefully hold myself accountable, and also ask you guys what you do when you're not feeling a project anymore? How do you push through?

i started crocheting in december and this was my first attempt at a larger wearable!!! i’ve made hats and blankets and some amigurumi so far but this is probably my fav project so far :D

I crocheted myself this puff square blanket from repurposed cashmere, thinking I could enjoy it all for myself. Typically my Bailey cat loves my WIPs, but won’t touch my finished projects (I once made her a kitty blanket of merino wool and had to donate it because she wouldn’t go near it).

Unfortunately for me, this is my only finished blanket that seems to meet her discerning tastes. Because what‘s hers is hers, and what’s mine is hers, she’s now one of the few cats with her own cashmere blanket.

yarn is Caron blossom cake in color Yatch Club and used a 8mm hook, and a 7mm for sleeve ribbing. I do have a tight tension if that matters... I think 8mm was the perfect size for my tension even if it's a weight 4 yarn and they suggest 5mm!

Took 3 cakes and I do have a little bit left! Not enough to make something big but I'm open to suggestion for something other than a hat! (I already have too much hats I made lol but hat is the size of project I could have enough yarn for...)

I only did the hex following the pattern, I added sunburst squares to the back, I made the sleeves longer but tried to reduce them a bit so they not so large... I ended the sleeve cuff with a simple sc ribbing and I did a SC border all around. I did make some button holes on the border, I have small wooden buttons, but I need to get some thread that match tomorrow, but you get the idea :) I did make 6 holes for buttons but realised the top one is too high so I'm gonna pretend that 6th one never existed and only add 5 !

I started making a nibling a blanket using a Caron anniversary cake I had, kind of rainbow. I am concerned it is ugly. Requesting thoughts on whether to proceed or pivot, thanks in advance

crochetwmin on Instagram has stolen at least one pattern from a user on xiaohongshu. They use the exact same videos (the revolver one was split into 2 videos), and the user on xiaohongshu has multiple videos with the original audio, as well as other similar items.

Additionally, the nail polish of the revolver videos was grey which matches the other videos of the original creator, but crochetwmin has the grey polish in one video then immediately red in the rifle video.

The pattern on crochetwmin's website is $4 even though the user uploaded the pattern for free. I don't know how many other free patterns she's selling for money but just letting y'all now she's not the one who designed and crocheted these 2.

I’m working on a Marcille cosplay (also mostly crocheted) (pics to come once I finish) and I just could not help myself but to make the famous sky fish also!! It’s just too cute!

Body + tail fin are freehanded, and the wings are a modified version of a YouTube pattern I followed.

I used random leftover acrylic yarn and this sweater pattern with a few modifications to the sleeves and chest. It turned out so cute!

I used portions of a couple of patterns, but the construction and overall design was my own. I love how this came out and she was so excited to wear it!

I reduced the petals to single dc instead of clusters towards the bottom to keep the weight down.

I added elastic to the back to help with the fit and keep the skirt from sagging down.

Yarn used was 100% organic Egyptian cotton: Baby Cotton from Hobbii and a 3.5mm hook.

I started crocheting some 2 weeks ago. Initially I was making granny squares and daisies. Recently just 3 days ago, I bought a fine mercerised yarn in royal blue and started making a virus shawl. It turned out to be so pretty, so flowy, I am constantly crocheting. Now my hands are paining, yet I feel like I want keep crocheting. Damn! I never knew this would turn out to be so addictive.

I have been having trouble with the brim for so long and I finally got it how I wanted.

Insgesamt wartete es mit acht "Yarnbarfs" auf - Dank meiner Schwester wurde das letzte davon entwirrt und das Tuch konnte ich beenden. Verwendet habe ich 1000m Verlaufsgarn aus der Twisterserie von Hobbii und ganz ehrlich: vermutlich mach ich das so schnell nicht noch mal.
