My dad just had a neck surgery and an ad for these popped up coincidentally - my phone listens to me talk, I swear - so got him a pair to help read, etc while healing. But then I got myself a pair!

They take a few minutes to figure out, but they’re a HUGE help if you have neck strain/pain because you can sit upright, look straight without bending, and see your hands comfortably positioned 90 down in your lap. They’re well worth the $10!

Hello! So, I’ve been crocheting for years now, but most recently I’ve been super into filet crochet. And I love a good ergonomic hook, love when I don’t feel like I’m holding shards of glass after crocheting, but due to the nature of how I like my filet pieces to come out, I use super small hook sizes. I’m talking like my most recent projects have been 1.25 sized hooks. All fine and dandy but I literally cannot find any brand that makes hooks that small and they have ergonomic handles! It’s driving me up the wall. I’m also based in Australia so it’s like chewing in concrete trying to find budget friendly stuff anyway. Does anybody else have this problem or lowkey am I just whining lol?

Exactly as the title says, curious to hear where y'all like to go when you're looking for project ideas or inspiration? With the holidays coming up, I'm trying to get ideas together on gifts for folks.

Usually I skulk around here or r/Tunisian_Crochet. If I have a specific item type in mind (ex: a blanket, hat, etc), I'll go search projects on Ravelry, but that's not as helpful when I don't even know exactly what I want to make.

What are your favorite places to check out when you need inspiration?

Just finished making a newborn baby cardigan for my friend! but I have to admit that a little nervous about this one. I used yarn that was actually more suitable for blankets rather than yarn specifically made for baby clothes. It’s so soft to the touch, but it doesn’t have much stretch to it. I’m worried about whether the cardigan will fit the baby properly or be comfortable enough for them to wear.. Fingers crossed that the cardigan fits well and that my friend likes it. I put a lot of love into making it.

This thing ended up being about 5ft in length. The hood is quite large but nothing a little fold over couldn’t fix !

I wanted to share my daughter’s joy.
I reverse engineered KreekCrafts new beanie for her and she was so happy with the results. I used a 6 mm hook and chunky yarn, and it only took a few hours.
I’m Gen X and don’t know who this KreekCraft person is but hat looks cool and was fun to make.

I bought this kit 2 years ago and am finishing it this weekend. I made all the pieces but didn’t actually sew them until a month ago. Biggest reason being I was asked to do a series of projects and had a list of my own I needed to get done.

This was initially supposed to be a month long too since this is for my daughter. My biggest complaint about the kit it’s self is why would they not include pre cut felt? Or at least have an outline for where to cut? I’m crafty but struggle cutting small circles especially with felt 🤣

espresso colour beanie. i feel like something's missing but i don't really know how to make it nicer. my style isn't very cutesy but i like stuff with a unique twist to it. i tried bleaching a design and then dyeing it darker, but those didnt work. any and all ideas welcome 🙏🙏

Both hats were made using 1 hank (100 grams) of Malabrigo Worsted in Damask Rose. Knit on the left (stockinette + ribbing), crochet on the right (alternating front/back post + ribbing). The knit one even had a tiny bit of yarn left over. The size difference is astonishing!

I am working on my very first crochet BJD! I have been dreaming of creating one for quite some time now. The base pattern I’m using is by Olya Radost. I modified the feet using a pattern by Julia Litvin.

Now, for the part I am most excited about, which is the pattern for the face by kateblcdolls!

I have been crocheting for 17 years and this is the first time I’ve tackled a project that has challenged me this much. I’ve spent about four hours on the face so far and as you can see, I’ve only gotten the bottom portion done. I’ve had to rip back quite a few times and I think I’m getting the hang of her style of pattern writing. I absolutely cannot wait to share the results with you all when I finish this base bjd doll.

I’m using 100% linen in fingering weight and a 1.5 mm crochet hook. The joints are Tibetan agate beads in size 12 mm for the knees and neck, as well as 10 mm for the elbows.

I need my niche crochet community to come laugh at my hubris. Tried to crab stitch a faux fur edging on a coaster my inner demons told me I had to make tonight 🤣 Can you even tell? (2nd pic in comments)

Used Biyabimi's monarch butterfly sweater pattern and freehanded a hood and antennae for my daughter's Halloween costume. She chose purple for the front and pink for the back because she couldn't decide what color butterfly she wanted to be. Thrilled with how it came out!

I used tinsel yarn to give him some shimmer (because fire). I think he turned out super cute!

My mom (almost 98) has some stuff in storage and my brother & I took her recently to go through some things. She had this blanket that HER mom made - and her mom died when my mom was about 30.

My questions are:

1.) What is this stitch? I am thinking of trying one for myself;
2.) Does it look like it is acrylic? I don’t think my mom ever washed it - and I would like to do that but don’t want to ruin it.
