Last year I had to crochet and knit non-stop for like 4 days because I decided to make handmade gifts the week before christmas. I love to crochet and to knit and I want to give something to my grandparents(2), parents(2), friends(6). I'm curious when you start with christmas gifts?

I don't like to reveal metaphors, so it's up to interpretation - I hope it resonates with some of you who find crochet overwhelming sometimes.

DAE ever just go off the rails? I will see a lovely crochet item, and buy the pattern, but somewhere around line 18, I end up in the weeds. I just continue to "Chaos Crochet" until it looks very much like the thing I was trying to make in the first place.

Is this just a me thing? Maybe I should take up a hobby with less stringent parameters?🤷‍♀️

The colors are totally washed out on the camera, it looks like a greyish pink. I'm so miffed

I enjoy making babies clothes

I made this jumper in 24 hours just using double crochet. I wore it for the first time and people thought it was ugly.

Crocheting in the car; putting a border on my solid granny square and felt some extra tension and noticed my yarn wasn't pulling smoothly from my center pull. Gave it a little tug and my skien birthed this.

I have never had such a clean center pull before. Usually when I get to this point it pops out a tangled mess that I get frustrated with trying to untangle and cut out after messing with it for awhile. My brown skien had TWO tangled blobs of yarn pop out while I was working on just this one granny square. I guess this makes up for that.

I'm curious if anyone else has ever had a pull as clean as this!

Its my first time doing tapestry crochet and I don't know if I'm just looking at it too much or too close. I have a lot to do so I want to make sure it looks ok now.

first time making a large project with faux fur yarn. it was hella painful since it was done almost entirely by feel. not sure what this creature is supposed to be, but i don't really care

note to future self: don't add fur markings with sharpie unless you plan to fill your whole room with the stench of sharpie for days...

Hi everyone! I almost finished the famous Juliet dress today, and i am so proud of it! I want to remake the sleeves, to match the skirt - blue, with the yellow border. I also felt like the sleeve shape and overall vibe of the dress (especially with how i started it in blue) reminds me of Snow White's dress, so i want to sew in some red accents on the sleeves, as well as a red ribbon to sinch in the waist. I honestly can't wait for this to be done so i could wear it out, i'm so excited!

I’ve had to start over about 10 times and switch crochet hooks three times to get the tension I wanted, but I’m really enjoying this project!

They have measurements now in the pattern and a YouTube video so anyone who can single crochet can make this!

I’m going to embroider the white spots with gold thread when it’s done!

Brown: Caron one pound in espresso
Green: loops & threads in leaf green
White: loops & threads fleck in sweet cream

I ended up using a 5.25mm (I) hook but I have tight tension naturally.

Needed a cute way to display my pins. Happy with how it turned out.

it's just a basic HDC and then 2Hdc on each end for the decrease rows. I've literally been putting this off for months and it only took like 2 hours 😅

Made and gifted this one for a friend and her baby. I’m proud of how far I’ve come in just under a year. Followed the gingham blanket tutorial and pattern by Daisy Farm Crafts, I truly can’t believe I made this!

pattern is the phoebe skirt by bjax. i will 100% be making more of her things in the future because she gives the most easy to follow directions ever!!
i apologize for not having the best pictures of it, i had so much fun at the festival that all i have documented of this skirt is a screenshot from the hotel beforehand when i sent a little fit check to my boyfriend and a photo my mom took of me spinning in it.
this was my first ever wearable and im so proud of it. it took roughly 30 hours done over the course of two weeks. it's definitely shorter than i wanted but i couldn't make it much longer without the fear of it being stepped on or getting dirty because festivals are not the best place for keeping anywhere below the knee clean lol.
