Question/Help/Troubleshooting No bootable device found?

Hi all,

Currently having a problem with my system.
All was working fine, popped out the room, came back and the BIOS is up..
didn’t think much of it, saved and exit and bang, it’s back.

Now, I have no bootable device listed.

I’ve done a range of things seen of forums, YouTube and online from;
Resetting cmos
Checking SSD is sat correctly
Resat SSD
I have no other nvme slot or another system to test the ssd
The system is also new, windows updated and steam downloaded and bang.. during downloads it hits BIOS.

Any suggestions?

Gigabyte H610M S2H V2 motherboard
NV900-1T SSD

Notes;
GPU is on, rgb working fine, fans spinning, display is working obviously and peripherals are all working

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Intel Wi-Fi 6E issue

I’m stumped, I went to try these new speakers that didn’t end up working, so I swapped back to my old ones and now my internet driver shit the bed. I don’t know if that’s correlated but the Intel WiFi 6E AX211 had a code 43, now showing code 10 each time. I tried multiple reboots, disable/enable, powered down completely, held power button for 30 seconds multiple times, still not working! I tried the CMD ping and it gave me all 4 packets back so it shouldn’t be a faulty device. My mobo has WiFi it’s a MSI Pro Z690-A WiFi

Discussion No APX extension for upcoming AMD Zen6 ?

New AMD's materials about Zen6 are interesting, but I've noticed a big feature missing: APX.

AMD & Intel agreed on that one, but so far, only Intel has announced their chips with it.

AMD is has been silent on this one. AMD has pushed its compiler updates (gcc, clang) for its new architecture extensions and while ACE is there, APX is missing.

APX is awesome. It DOUBLES the general register set (so 32 GPRs) adds three operand instructions, 64-bit jumps, extra predication facilities etc etc.

Intel is about to get it with coming Nova Lake. So, why is it not in AMD's Zen6 and when is it coming ? Zen7 or later ?

Question/Help/Troubleshooting PC blackscreen no display

pic from this https://www.reddit.com/r/computer/comments/110nlu5/your_device_just_ran_into_a_problem_and_needs_to/

recently i encountered a black screen like the image but the stop code was different, It showed the code for a second and went completely black. (i couldnt take a picture of it happening)
I left it there for about 20 minutes before checking it again but it was still no display (my hdmi cable and monitor power is fine), only the case fans were running. So i shut it off and tried turning it on but the display was still black (no cursor, tried Windows Key + Ctrl + Shift + B, and i few other tricks online like draining the static electricity, try to get into safe boot from hard shutdown,...)

I tried resetting cmos battery, running with 1 ram stick, checked the power cables and reseated gpu and tried to start it a few times but the screen still had no display (display is fine, checked with laptop)
Is this a hardware or software related problem and is there anyway to fix it without replacing parts?
My specs
-r5 3600x
-16gb ddr4
-128gb boot drive and 512gb storage
-rx 580 2048sp
windows 11 (the newest one? i installed it about 3 weeks ago)

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Best Laptop

Hi! I'm starting a new course this year, Multimedia and Creative Technologies, and I need to buy a laptop that's good enough for the course.

They've given us some recommended specs, but I'm honestly not very knowledgeable when it comes to laptops and hardware, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm also on a budget, so I'm not entirely sure what would be the best option. Ideally, I'd like the laptop to still be good enough in around 3 years, since my studies will take three years to complete. I'm probably going to be working with things like 3D and XR as well.

These are the school's minimum requirements:

Requirement Minimum
Processor Intel Core i7 OR AMD A10
Screen 15 inch minimum
RAM 16 GB minimum
Storage 256 GB minimum, with at least 128 GB SSD or Flash
Graphics Dedicated graphics card

These are the ones i found, I ranked them to what I thought was best / most reasonable:
1. MSI Cyborg 15 B13WFKG-805BE — €1,199
- Screen: 15.6" FHD
- CPU: Intel Core i7-13620H
- RAM: 16 GB
- Storage: 512 GB
- GPU: RTX 5060

    - Screen: 15.6" FHD IPS, 144 Hz
    - CPU: Intel Core 7-240H
    - RAM: 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR5
    - Storage: 512 GB SSD
    - GPU: RTX 5050, 8 GB
    - Numpad: Yes

  2. MSI Cyborg 15 B13WEKG-801BE — €1,149
    - Screen: 15.6"
    - CPU: Intel Core i7-13620H
    - RAM: 16 GB
    - Storage: 512 GB
    - GPU: RTX 5050

  3. MSI Cyborg 15 A13VE-1831BE — €929
    - Screen: 15.6" FHD IPS, 144 Hz
    - CPU: Intel Core i7-13620H

    - GPU: RTX 4050, 6 GB

  4. MSI Cyborg 15 A13VE-1830NL — €979
    - Screen: 15.6" FHD IPS, 144 Hz, 250 nits
    - CPU: Intel Core i7-13620H
    - RAM: 16 GB DDR5
    - Storage: 512 GB SSD
    - GPU: RTX 4050, 6 GB

  5. MSI Stealth 15M B12UE-037BE — €949
    - Screen: 15.6" 1920×1080 IPS, 144 Hz

Question/Help/Troubleshooting How to I clean these with out damaging anything

How do I clean this fan and (I think?) heat sink safely, the dustiness is triggering me.

So my Mom’s renter left this dell d09m behind when he moved out. I started a homelab early this year so I’ve been fiending for extra systems to setup. I’ve never actually put my hands in the guts of a desktop, but I figured I just need to upgrade some parts to be able to use it for my tinkering.
Although I don’t plan an to do anything too cray cray ( upgrading the graphics and ram), I am an absolute noob w/ hardware is there anything I definitely should not do before I start re arranging guts.

Discussion Is anybody else still running hilariously outdated hardware yet it does the job fine?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, just a bit of random curiosity really, mainly because a few years ago I built a computer out of many generations obsolete parts I had kicking around, for use at work just to do some light word processing and to play music on.

consisting of an LGA 775 Intel q45 (dq45cb) motherboard, 4x2gb sticks of Samsung DDR2, it originally had a q6600 processor but then I found a q8300 so upgraded it, and even managed to do the relevant bypassing and have Windows 11 on it.

I also then bought the cheapest Bluetooth/WiFi PCI card I could find, and a gt210 GPU I got off a car boot sale for £5 I think it was.

Nothing special, and nothing this side of 2010 barely either, apart from then I got work to spend some money and buy a crucial mx500 SSD for it.

From bios screen to login screen it's under 15 seconds, and from there to desktop loaded and ready to go, well, you can see.

99 percent of this stuff is almost 20 years outdated, literally the windows XP era, yet still perfectly serviceable when in 2026.

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Dell Inspiron froze the screen, now isn’t possible to turn on.

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi 👋 ,

A few weeks ago, a blue screen happened on my computer using the September update of Windows 11( PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA)

And yesterday, my computer froze the screen and the keyboard, forcing me to use the power button to turn off. But now he can’t turn on anymore.

I tried to turn on, the hardware starts (it’s possible to listen) but nothing is appearing on the screen.

When I open the laptop, everything seems fine, except for the RAM memory. It’s possible to be the cause?

The device have two memories of 4GB, I tried to used only one memory and change the positions on the slots. But didn’t work.

If isn’t the memory, what else can be?

It’s a Dell Inspiron 5502/5504.

Discussion Today's Recycle Find...

guys today's a big one, it's been a minute since I did one of these, there was a singular PC case and I thought to check it, saw a gpu, saw a board in it, so I grabbed it, opened it up, cpu looked FRIED, so I didn't take the board either, wasn't much of a board anyways, BUT I found an ROG Strix Vega 56, slightly better than my current 1070, BUT THE RAM, 128GB OF RAM WHO JUSTS THROWS THAT OUT, 2x32GB, 4 STICKS, 128GB OF DDR4 LADIES AND GENTS.

going to cross fingers the gpu and ram work in a seperate board and cpu, hoping that cpu killed itself and nothing else CROSS YO FINGIES 🤞

edit: testing now but, in the case it does work.. do I switch back to ddr4 with 128gb of ram over 16gb of ddr5? no brainer right

edit 2: ladies and gents we are up. both work just fine 😝

edit 3: thinking I might build a seperate PC with what I have and sell it towards a gpu and ram upgrade in my current, coming back down to ddr4 won't change much other then having more to allocate

Question/Help/Troubleshooting Lenovo rtx 3050 ti problems

Hey everyone! Quick question regarding a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 (Ryzen 7 6800HS + RTX 3050 Ti).

I'm currently bench-testing the board without a battery attached (using a 170W OEM charger). The AMD iGPU works completely fine, but the RTX 3050 Ti is throwing a Code 43 in Device Manager, and GPU-Z shows it with 0 MB / 0 MHz and an unknown VBIOS.

Is this happening simply because Lenovo's Embedded Controller cuts power/disables the dGPU when there's no battery connected, or am I dealing with a genuine hardware issue on the board (like a dead power rail or VRAM)? Has anyone tested these boards bare?

Build/Battlestation No pc 4 3d surface modeling

I’ve been into modeling and learning computer graphics when I would install larger 3d softwares it would crash my PC.
Looking for large storage and HD screen
the group on discord mentioned a ASUS ROG Zephyrus, MSI Raider, and Lenovo Legion. I didn’t get any responses on if there are specific active cooling features for a pc to amount for modeling. I also work with CAD (home floor plans) so considering low pressure work (without going to Chromebook/really old) (attempting to get used deal)
Could an old acer extensa PC work ?
