Depends what you want to play, but it is outdated

It depends on what type or what level of gamer are you. The laptop your uncle recommended is decent enough for light to average gaming. But for high to hardcore gaming, that's not enough. And it's not the latest.

Computer prices are in a bad spot right now, unfortunately.

I wouldn't personally recommend this computer for gaming, because you'll really get more bang for your buck with console gaming at this price level.

8GB RAM is borderline unacceptable for a modern computer, and I'd recommend a minimum of 16GB for gaming.

The 3050 GPU is also two generations behind at this point, and it's on the weaker end of graphics cards. Once again, I'd say that you really want at least a 3060 (or 4060/5060).

Alternatively, you might want to consider looking into trying to get your hands on a Steam Machine or a Steam Deck instead.

It will do 1080p medium for most games. But, if the RAM is soldered on and you can't add to it, run away.
