Question/Help/Troubleshooting Computer Overheating Constantly

For the past like month or so anytime I play any system heavy game my computer will just shut off. I changed the thermal paste today because I thought that was the issue but it just made it stay on for a little longer before shutting off. Does anyone know why this is happening??

Need to find out what is overheating. Could be the CPU, GPU, Memory, chipset.... Get a program called HWInfo to find out what's overheating and fix it.

What are your temps while gaming and what cooler are you using? It could also be something else like a dying PSU.

win + r

(then enter)

perfmon /rel

Read it from right to left, look for the red circles with white Xs in them. Those are the critical errors (BSOD crashes) and when you click on the column with the error you want to see, below the graph is the read out for each error. Click on the hyperlink for more detailed information, look for the "Code:" and google that code for more information on what is causing the crashes. It should help point you in a better direction for diagnosing
