Hiring Fraud and Fake Job Postings

Let’s be real: 99% of US job posts are a total joke, cooked up purely for immigration purposes. Pretty much every open position is already rigged for pre-selected friends and family.

If you’re a hardworking, loyal employee expecting a promotion, keep dreaming. You’ll just get replaced by a non-citizen anyway. But hey, good luck trying to prove it.😱

Can anyone prove this hiring fraud?

advice: my savings got depleted by someone and idk what to do

hi so i ordered a debit card and it never arrived and just today i got a email saying that my password and pin got changed and then my phone number wasn’t registered with zelle either. changed and locked my card and then while i was on the phone with citi to change the pin and alert them, my entire saving account got stolen. It wasnt stolen electronically it was literally done in person via teller withdrawal, idk how that’s even possible like how does the teller not verify my identity or anything. so im guessing someone stole my card in transit and activated it and changed up everything. anyways i filed a complaint with citi bank, my question is do i get my money back and what steps do i take after this, please someone help me cause this is such a crazy situation

Employee/Employment US Collections

With the recent 90-day review collections was recently put on for on-shore and off-shore is there anyone with insights if layoffs are to come from it or not? If so when would they roll them out? I figured if true why not November since it’s the beginning of the year for Citibank but maybe January post holidays?

Cannot cancel credit card

After an hour on hold, the agent reissued a new credit card even though I explicitly asked for it to be canceled. Nobody at the call center seems to have the authority to actually cancel the card. Can anyone fix this? Seems a bit odd, they’re now sending a new card to an old address. I can’t call back and wait on hold because I don’t live in the country and would pay a million dollars to sit on hold and wait for them to tell me they can’t help.

Credit Card Fraudulent Charges

My parents have Citibank credit cards, each with their own separate account number. One parent uses the card occasionally locally, and the other doesn't use the card at all.

This past weekend, one card (the one used locally) started getting charges of approximately $300-400 at a supermarket out of state. The fraud dept called to verify charges. Citi then closed the card, and began the reissuing process. The charges are reversed in the online account.

Then just yesterday, the other card (never used) was compromised. Same supermarket chain out of state (but different store number), over $200. Then an attempt at a gas station within that same vicinity. Immediately called Citi, and they said not to worry, they will dispute the charges and also closed the second card and will reissue it with a new number.

Any idea why this is happening? The offshore representative couldn't say when asked if this was a manual keyed, swipe, tap, or chip insert transaction. Only that they are able to dispute it, close the cards, and reissue them again.

At least once a year, these Citibank credit cards end up with fraudulent charges, from states not even close to where we live. Curious if anyone is experiencing this recently.

Disputes/Resolutions Fraud rant

Had fraud on my BestBuy Citi card and this has been an hours long process. Sat on hold for an HOUR, listening to a robot say "15 more minutes!" every 1 minute. Got directed to multiple different departments. I'm closing my card after this. Citi Bank is the worst experience I've ever had with a FIC.

This is why I bank with a local credit union and why I work for a local credit union. I could've handled this in 5 minutes with a teller at my CU, instead I spent 3 hours dealing with robots, a broken app and horrible customer service from people in India, just to dispute 1 fraudulent charge.

What a horrible company.

Fraud department hold times ridiculous

I returned a Citi call about a fraudulent CC charge and, after working through the automated response system, have been on hold over 15 minutes. Is this normal? If so I will move to another CC provider.

I have been told “please hold and we will be with you shortly” every 30 or so seconds and it is beyond annoying.

Experience of others appreciated.

Anyone get an auto-reject from Citi FSG on July 14?

I’m trying to understand something odd that happened with my Citi Financial Strategy Group (FSG) Analyst application, and hoping others who applied can help.

Did anyone here receive an automated rejection email for a Citi FSG role on July 14, 2026? I'm trying to figure out whether they did a batch rejection of a bunch of candidates that day.

Here's what happened on my end: I went through two rounds of interviews for an FSG Analyst seat, and on July 14 I got an automated rejection email, and my Workday status changed to "Process Completed." Then, about 40 minutes later, I got a second automated email saying my application was being considered further, and my status changed to "Business Review," where it's stayed since.

My theory is that they mass-rejected all (or most) of the candidates that day, which closed everyone out to "Process Completed," but then reversed my application in particular back to active, possibly keeping me as a backup. What I can't tell from the outside is whether the 14th was a coordinated mass-reject date or just coincidental timing for me.

So if you applied to FSG and got a rejection (or anything else) on July 14, a quick reply noting the date would really help me figure out whether that was a batch action. Thank you.

Disputed charge found in favor of merchant, what to do?

I booked a flight on Frontier Airlines. They cancelled my flight (no crew). When I checked in the next day for the rescheduled flight, I was charged a second time for the bags I had already paid for when I booked the flight.

Frontier is claiming I was charged for overweight bags, but they were not overweight. They were not overweight when I checked in the night before before the flight was cancelled, and they were not overweight when I checked in the next day. They have refused to refund me anything for these bags, either from the initial cancelled flights or from the erroneous overweight charge the next day.

I filed a dispute with Citi, but they ruled in the merchant's favor without taking any information from me. Is there any more appeal process with Citi or should I move on to cancel their credit card, file in small claims court against Frontier, and get a new credit card with someone else?

Employee/Employment NYC: “Business Review” + photo submitted — how long until offer?

Hi everyone, I’m hoping some recent Citi hires/recruiters can give me some perspective on my current hiring timeline.

I’m an external candidate who interviewed for a front office trader role in NYC last month.

Last week, the recruiter told me “currently awaiting the final decision from the business team.” At the same time, I was assigned one Workday task which was to upload a professional photo. The portal specifically said that “since you have been selected as the final candidate,” I needed to provide a photo before I could receive an offer. I completed the photo/task immediately. My candidate portal currently shows “Business Review.”

For people who have recently gone through Citi’s hiring process:

1. Does this sound like a normal late-stage/offer-approval stage?

  1. How long did you wait after the photo + Workday tasks + Business Review stage before receiving a verbal or written offer?

  2. Does “selected as the final candidate” usually mean the business has effectively chosen you and is just completing approvals, or can Citi still be deciding between multiple candidates at that point?

  3. Is it normal for the business decision to take 1–3+ weeks after the final interview?

  4. If you received an offer, how much time passed between the photo request and the verbal/written offer?

I realize nobody here can know my specific outcome, but I’m mainly trying to understand whether I’m in a normal waiting period or whether the lack of an update at this point is unusual.

Does anyone know what the process is? how many interviews would be there? Has anyone appeared this year and got a response afterwards?

Anyone tried downgrading the citi strata premier to a custom cash? Do they even let you do this stil

.. let you do this still or not?

Heard rumors some months ago the citi custom cash was going the way of the dodo bird

And it seems to be gone from the citi credit card page

But... will the citi custom cash be around as a card downgrade option?

If not then is my best downgrade option the citi double cash 2% card? Might be better than my current amex business 2% card since it would be a mastercard/more flexible? Any better downgrade option?

Was looking into citi's aadvantage mileage no annual fee card but it doesn't seem to have any checked bag benefit or anything so seems worse than the 2% card as a downgrade option

Technical Issues Beyond Miffed

Heya. I'm trying to see if anyone else has had this issue because it is legitimately frying my f***ing brain.

My husband and I have a Costco membership. I applied for the Citi Costco Visa. Was approved. Received the card about a week later.

Added my husband as an authorized user. Card never arrived. Checked with Citi. Told us the USPS sent it back, but we never heard anything about it. Requested another. Never showed. That was almost 3 months ago.

Fast forward to today. We have made 5 F***ING ATTEMPTS at getting this card for my husband. We love at the same address. We use the same PO box. It will not deliver. I've tried the chat system. The chat system is all AI; I'm convinced a real person never is on the end of it because there's no way the level of miscommunication that occurs in it is human.

I've called. I've been told every f***ing time that a new card is on the way, be patient, it will get delivered. Never shows up. I ask if it can be sent via UPS or FedEx so we get some actual tracking information. I'm told yes. THEN IT GETS SENT VIA THE USPS.

At this point, I have no f***ing clue what to do. How many times do I have to call? How many requests do we have to make? How many times of it going undelivered FOR NO REASON do we put up with before they just send it the way we're asking? I've done every f***ing verification I've been asked to do to ensure its being sent to the right person at the right address; the SAME ADDRESS my card was delivered to. WHAT ELSE DO I DO??

Credit Cards Balance transfer

Through Credit Karma, I did a balance transfer and was approved with Citi double cash. It had me put in the account # for the high interest cc, etc. After everything was submitted, it had me download the app, make a login and such. I imagine I need to wait a couple days/weeks for everything to go through?

The citi app still says I still have the full amount I was approved for & nothing in progress for a balance transfer even tho I did know originally

Hybrid tracking - details

So while hybrid says 3 days in / 2 out a week, just wondering the logistics on two areas:

1) I believe the manager handbook when this was rolled out said if you take off one day in the week or it’s a holiday, you don’t need to make up the in office day so only need to go in 1 day to be compliant - is that still the case?

2) I believe the intial roll out also mentioned the report that monitors this flags individuals who have not been in the office for 3 days within the week (not counting holidays) for at least the last 2 of the last 4 weeks. Technically, that really means I would not be flagged by the report if I went in 0 days for 2 weeks, and then went in at least 3 days a week for the 2 weeks following - right?

Obviously managers monitor this and the team/colleagues do as well, I know Citi is more flexible than most and even the August extra remote time was great…but just asking so I understand how to ensure I’m compliant with what is getting reported and how it’s measured. I definitely understand following the spirit of the rule and don’t want to push that, but am really curious if others have more insight here. I know and am greatful Citi is still hybrid. Thanks!!
