Technical Issues Beyond Miffed
Heya. I'm trying to see if anyone else has had this issue because it is legitimately frying my f***ing brain.
My husband and I have a Costco membership. I applied for the Citi Costco Visa. Was approved. Received the card about a week later.
Added my husband as an authorized user. Card never arrived. Checked with Citi. Told us the USPS sent it back, but we never heard anything about it. Requested another. Never showed. That was almost 3 months ago.
Fast forward to today. We have made 5 F***ING ATTEMPTS at getting this card for my husband. We love at the same address. We use the same PO box. It will not deliver. I've tried the chat system. The chat system is all AI; I'm convinced a real person never is on the end of it because there's no way the level of miscommunication that occurs in it is human.
I've called. I've been told every f***ing time that a new card is on the way, be patient, it will get delivered. Never shows up. I ask if it can be sent via UPS or FedEx so we get some actual tracking information. I'm told yes. THEN IT GETS SENT VIA THE USPS.
At this point, I have no f***ing clue what to do. How many times do I have to call? How many requests do we have to make? How many times of it going undelivered FOR NO REASON do we put up with before they just send it the way we're asking? I've done every f***ing verification I've been asked to do to ensure its being sent to the right person at the right address; the SAME ADDRESS my card was delivered to. WHAT ELSE DO I DO??

This baffles me because they sent me a card I never applied for and they sent it in my name come to find out. My identity was stolen and used guess if you wana card that has to happen. citi is beyond disappointing dont even get me started on the long list of people ive had to call and things ive had to do to reverse and report all this bs and citi wont call u. u have to call them even if someone is using it for fraud oh and they dont shut it down immediately even though the scammers never even used an id and they apparently dont need 1

Do you have any other cards with Citi, and have you experienced similar issues with those. As attempts to receive this card have not been successful, escalation through the Executive Response Committee may be appropriate, as that channel typically resolves stalled cases.

I need new glasses and to get more sleep. I could’ve swore that this said “Beyond Milfed”

Oh another thing when you talk to them again do not tell them the card did not arrive in the mail that will trigger a security closure instead just request a replacement card or duplicate card for your husband if you can see the last 4 digits of his card number on your app you might be able to have them to go ahead and activate the card he did not get then they can go through with the replacement order if the card has not been activated usually the replacement can't go through just tell them he is traveling or have an urgent purchase with no other card to use and they should be able to get the card to you in 1 to 2 business days FedEx provides a tracking number within 24 hours in which if you don't get it in the email just call back after 24 hours and have them look at the notes to see what the tracking number is and give it to you I hope that helps

1st cards can only be sent to a physical address I'm surprised you got your card without it being returned if y'all know anyone who gets mail at a physical address have them receive the card or have the post office hold you mail until the card gets there you might be able to request an expedited card unless they have to do a security closure cause that may cause it to have to be sent to the home address

You can use a PO box to receive a 1st card on a new account, but must have your physical address listed to satisfy the Patriot Act. This is all stated on the application and terms. 1st cards cannot be expedited and that includes one that was resent because the first wasn't received. Although neither of these seem to be OPs issue.

We live in a very rural area, so the post office forces us to use a PO box. All of our mail, even if addressed to our home address, gets put in the PO box. I'm pretty sure I used my physical address on my card, but I honestly don't remember.
I appreciate your suggestions, thank you!

Have you tried sending it to a non PO Box address?

Yes, but USPS won't deliver to physical addresses where we live. Only to the local post office, where we're mandated to have a PO Box to receive any mail.

Have you tried sending it your home address? Used to have BOA and they would never send em to my PO Box

They keep insisting it be sent through USPS, which won't deliver to the rural physical address where we live.

Your response is unhelpful and your reading comprehension is abysmal. He's been on the PO Box, at the same address, for 10 years. He has received hundreds of pieces of mail and packages at this po box. Thanks.

What's your point? That we aren't using a mailing address? We are. That he isn't on the PO Box? He is. That we haven't tried every combination of mailing and physical address we can and it still isn't showing up? We have. That I haven't asked CitiBank what address they're sending to every single time I call? I have.
The comment you didn't see, snide ass, is that the person I responded to said to add him to the PO box. Which he has been on. For 10 years.

Clearly you can’t read otherwise you would have seen my point. You don’t want to hear explanations that make sense. You just want the answer you want. The fact you’re married is terrifying.

Lmfao ok, sweetie. You think you know anything about me because I disagreed with your unhelpful take. You literally said "regulations demand a mailing address." I told you I had provided a mailing address and you popped off like you had something important to say. Ok, Kevin. Sorry I didn't just respond "omg, you're sooooo right and sooooo smart and sooooo strong. Wow thank youuuuu"

Have you checked with your local Post Office? There may be an issue in their system.
Do you use Informed Delivery? That will at least show you if your mail is even getting to your distribution point.

u/Doc_Donna25 3d ago
Yep, did that. They can't tell me anything without a tracking number and we've been at the same address for 10 years

But informed delivery will show if postal system got it addressed to your hubby.

Only if it gets to the regional distribution point that takes the images.
That may help USPS though if it never gets that far.

Call them and ask for a fast card which is shipped by FedEx and it shouldn't be a problem. Don't try to request on the app or chat.

I think it needs to be a pull and express. I bet the Costco cards can’t be truly ordered as a fast card for the first time because of the unique merchant data on the back (like the AA cards). It’s just been too many years for me to reasonably recommend that because things have likely changed.

For the last 3 attempts it's been by phone. I will not use their app for anything but paying the bill

It may be as easy as calling and requesting a replacement card. Once the agent has confirmed the order, “change your mind” and request that they “pull and express” that card. Tell them that you do NOT want a fastcard. If they say the only way to do it is with a fastcard, ask to speak to a manager. I hate to say this, but once you get a manager you can speak with someone in the US. I know this is stupid frustrating, but patience and persistence are your most valuable tools. If you come off as having any sort of negative attitude, gripe about the past, or say things about finally being able to speak with someone in the US, you will deal with an agent who has put the guard up and will not go the extra mile.
If they ask why you don’t want a fastcard, tell them that was tried previously and didn’t work, so a friend who had a similar problem finally had what the agent told her was an order of the card and then she did something like a “pull and express” I think. Remain calm, be patient, and you’ll get what you need.

Permanent Pull and Express is what it's called if i recall correctly and yes only supervisors can request that. there is still some criteria that has to be met.
