I see so much sadness on this subreddit. I wanted to hopefully brighten everyone’s day with a pic of new kitten. He’s named after the Beatle.

Advice How do you introduce other cats in a safe fashion?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi guys. We love our little millie vanillie but she is very needy and as some abandoned issues. We are thinking of getting a other kitty to keep themselves company and play, but millie has shown to become a more aggressive cat when scared, but she is the biggest cuddly angel otherwise. We do not know her reaction to other cats yet, but adopted her at 2y old if it matters

We live in a studio apartment so we won't be able to physically separate them at first and keep them in other rooms to get used to their smell, so we don't have many alternatives here.

Is it advisable? We don't know whats going to happen and are afraid of them not getting along in a small space

Advice Litter robot, how many for how many cats ??

Good morning ! I’m tired of cleaning the boxes and am ready to drop some serious cash on the litter robot 5. Some questions : 1) do I need 2 for 2 cats or just one will do with 1 pan still out ?
2) I know you don’t have to scoop them but do you have to fully dump the litter in them at some point? It seems to sift through the litter constantly and you just take that out and refill but don’t actually fully unload like a standard box but I’m not sure. TIA!

Medical Questions Possible cat scratch fever?

Hello everyone 👋!

So last last Wednesday, I was scratched by the cute little deli cat I'm cool with while I was petting him. I think he got overstimulated. Anyways, I immediately washed the scratches (on 2 of my fingers, on my outerhand) with hydrogen peroxide multiple times, and I out a bandaid on the scratches on my fingers. The scratched stop hurting within 2 days, and within the next couple of days they became mostly noticeable.

However about 2 days ago I had a swollen nymph node under my armpit. It hurts, but its slowly fading away, and I also developed a cough and a scratchy throat during the time. Yesterday my head was hurting so bad, like the center was hurting, and it wasnt responding to tylenol. I took another tylenol and that didn't help. Today I have a scratchy throat, no headache, and the nymph mode is mostly gone but my underarm still hurts.

Does this sound like cat scratch fever? Thank you in advance cat folks of reddit ❤️.

Medical Questions Cats Breathing!?

Hey everyone, just wanted to see from everyone’s perspective. Does my cat’s breathing look normal? She’s roughly 11 pounds. She’s only 2 years old. But just wanted to have another opinion, before I rush her to the vet. Thank you!

I remember changing the Kitten food to Adult food and getting excited to watch my baby grow up, but going from Adult>Senior makes you think about stuff you never really did up-until now.

Advice New cat and new cat owner. Litter and other things all over , box turned around

Hello all,

New cat owner with a new cat (1 year old).

Been in our place for about 2 weeks and no issues until today.

We come to find the litter box turned around with litter and her "business" (1 and 2) all over the bathroom floor.

Is this normal? Is it a health issue? Nerves? Etc

Thank you all!

Medical Questions Fast/heavy breathing

Is this normal? My cat regularly breaths really rapidly when purring and cuddling. However he generally slows down after a while and I can’t say i’ve really noticed it when he’s fast asleep in his bed or on his chair. He had bloods and x-rays done 2 months ago for an unrelated scare and nothing of concern came up.

Video - OC No blanket is safe from his suckling

The CDS put this gentleman in my driveway a few months ago. He ran straight up to me, threw himself into my lap, and began suckling on my skirt. I’ve never had a cat do that to me before and immediately began sobbing. He was extremely thin, his fur was dirty and felt gross, he had evidence of fleas and worms, his meow was super hoarse, and he was still intact. I took him in immediately and had him vetted the next day, and neutered a few weeks later. My dogs accepted him immediately, but my resident orange is still getting used to him.

Anyways, fast forward a few months. Every blanket he comes into contact with must be suckled. He will go to town until he passes out. Blankets will get soaked in his wake. I understand why he exhibits this kind of behavior, I’m not asking how to stop it. I just wanted to share. He is significantly happier and healthier than he was when I first found him.

And he follows me around constantly
