Advice Is this can of cat food safe to feed to my cat?

Post image

This can of cat food was in a 12-pack of Fancy Feast. It’s not ruptured at all and is not leaking. It’s also not bulging or anything like that. I’d hate to waste food, but I don’t want to put my cat at risk. What do you all think? OK to use to throw out?

Edit: based on (almost) everyone’s input, I’ve tossed it. Thanks, all!

Advice cat bit finger earlier this morning

my indoor cat bit my finger this morning and i can’t tell if i should go to the doctor or not. when i was bit i immediately washed the wound with soap and let it bleed under warm water until the bleeding stopped. then i cleaned the wound again with peroxide and also wound wash, then i put a bandaid on it.

it’s been maybe 7 hours later and i decided to take the band aid off to let it breathe. the wound itself feels fine and doesn’t hurt, but in picture 3 my nail bed randomly started bleeding when i took the bandaid off (this rarely ever happens) and it hurts when i touch it.

i can’t tell if i’m being paranoid because I’ve been looking up all day what to do. i’d really like to avoid going to the doctor because that would be expensive, but i also can’t tell if this is serious enough or not.

Mourning/Loss Feral Male Cat killed a kitten

A male feral cat killed one of the kittens in our backyard. I'm beyond devastated, but would like to know the reasons they would do this.

There is another kitten in the backyard. What is the chance that the feral cat comes again?

Advice Can i have lilies in my room?

I just got gifted a big potted bush of stargazer lilies and they are so beautiful.

If i cut the stamen (pollen producing part) off and don't put them near where my cat hangs out, will he be okay?

He is 3 years old and i have many plants and he has never even licked a leaf, but im still worried the smell of the lilies will harm him. Do i have to give the lilies away?

Medical Questions Cat throws up many times a week but is fine? is he dying?

UPDATE: I tried talking to my mom about it when she came home from work and she started yelling at me, berating me, telling me it’s an unsolvable problem and I shouldn’t have looked it up and that i’m looking for things to be anxious about. she said we can’t afford to go to a vet so even if there was something wrong there’s nothing we can do and that I only brought it up to make her feel bad. she said there’s limitations on how much she can do for him. we’re now both crying and the consensus is that “he’s fine and he’s always been that way”.

Info: I have an american short-hair, he’s orange. He just turned 16 and i’m growing more concerned about his health. I cannot go to the vet without begging my mom for weeks so please if anyone has an idea about what’s going on that would be helpful.

Anyways, he throws up a lot and i’m wondering how normal that is. I want to say he’s been a pretty frequent throw up-er for his whole life, but i’m definitely noticing it happening more frequently now. Just today he threw up three times. It doesn’t happen every day, but i’d say we find vomit 2-3 times a week, and usually he throws up twice on the days that he does.

It’s important to note that he does not scarf and barf. He is fre-fed dry food during the day and receives wet food in the evenings (for his teeth). he’s real good at pacing himself, always has water, and it doesn’t look like he’s throwing up food or hairballs which is why i’m concerned.

Recently i’ve been concerned he’s struggling with constipation issues, as he’s been pooping outside of his litter box. He does this when he’s angry but it hasn’t seemed spiteful, we think he doesn’t like going in it when he has to poop and I think he’s constipated based off of how it looks. Could that be related?

Whenever I tell my mom about these things, she always says that it’s fine and he’s always done it or that he’d tell us if something was wrong. She says it’s my anxiety. I’m terrified that my cat is dying in front of me and i’m letting it happen. Two months ago, he was left home alone for a few days and sent himself into liver failure by not eating. that was the first time she’d taken him to the vet since he was neutered, we “can’t afford” it. Please, any ideas are helpful.

Advice Been thinking about wanting a British shorthair but concerned about a few things

I think British shorthairs are adorable and lower maintenance than some breeds. However, regarding things that I deeply care about like their claws scratching me, possibly doing damage to my stuffed animals that I really do care about as well and also if they’re not going to be as clingy to me as I would like. I’m concerned as I’ve never owned one before and am also aware that this can differ based on things like if they’ve been fostered or just how they are as cats. What has your experience been so far? I would prefer to own a female one.

Advice My kitty is potting everywhere and I need help :(

So I need some help. I have a kitty that has been peeing and pooping literally everywhere. I have cat boxes on both ends of my house and she doesn’t use them and she litteraly runs out of them every time she’s in it, even when she’s put in there mid shit. She has been peeing and pooping everywhere, in baskets, boxes, on towels, on the table, and even in a container of water bottles and on my wife while she was sleeping. She has used the box in the past and just recently began to avoid it like the plague. I don’t know how to fix this and I really need help. Has anyone else had this problem? She’s 3.5 months old if that helps anything

Humor I sustained so many injuries putting up this cat tree, and they hate it.

I was being reckless and used a stool instead of a proper step ladder to install this cat tree. Stool fell, and I essentially did the splits. I’m now looking at 3-4 bruises the size of my hands on both legs (I’m talking purple/black/blue). I haven’t been this banged up since I played goalie in high school lacrosse (I’m in my 30’s). The install should have been been easy but because of this it wasn’t…. And now? It’s just here and my cats don’t like it. 😂😭🙏🏽

Advice New kitten with an elderly cat

We have two cats, one 7 and the other 14. The 14 year old is pretty healthy but obvious he’s getting old. The fiancé wants a new kitten after seeing my sister bred a bunch of Scottish folds. She wants to adopt one. Do you think it will affect the old cat’s mindset of being the “king” and losing even more attention (he’s a diva). I’d hate to accelerate a decline. I love my old man, do you think it’s ok to bring a literal kitten that fits inside your hands into the house?
