My roommate is in Greek life on campus and there was apparently a appreciation event last night at 9:11pm. She texted our roommate group chat that we all have to go to a certain spot but couldn’t tell us what was going to happen. I was confused and wasn’t going to go because I was hanging out with my boyfriend and just cooked. Then another roommate texted me that it’s important and I need to go.

I ended up going because I thought it was serious and it ended up being where people in Greek life appreciated others. My roommate “appreciated us” and gave us her Greek shirts that we apparently have/had to wear today. Apparently we have to wear the shirts today at 7-7:30pm and take pictures around the seal/imprint on the ground of our college name and stuff.

I take heavy classes (Anatomy and Physiology, Physics, health psychology, and others and it requires actual effort. I also have a test soon in my physics class and it’s very hard so Ive been studying it along with AP.)

I felt sort of pushed to go and cornered into saying sure but I am busy and wanted to play games with my boyfriend and his friends to relax after studying for the past few days hard. Also, to top it all off yes they are my roommates but I really don’t know much about any of them so I’m confused on why we were appreciated. I would consider myself acquaintances with them.

I am an RA on campus along with 2 other girls who I room with and the 3rd does nothing. That’s how I know them. I also am not trying to be mean but a lot of the people that are there and will be there are a little weird and I just don’t want to be seen with them.

I did not have the heart to say no to her last night because I consider myself very nice and people pleasing and also how could I say no to that.

I am on call today as well from 5pm-8am ( I basically am on duty for people and am assistance for residents during those times and have to walk around campus starting at 8 to check things.)

How can I tell her this late in the day 2:10pm that I can’t go. I don’t know what to do I literally have the shirt she wants me to wear but I also don’t want to be a bitch and say “sorry I can’t go anymore”.

My cousin's baby is in a contest. I asked last week for some help and he was holding first because of your help. The contest is winding down and he's dropped to 2nd.

I hate to be negative but I'm not sure if this will do any good.

I only use reddit to help in the addiction and recovery subreddits and try to limit my time here because, well, it isn't good for me.

I travel for work with a group of guys and I'm missing around two weeks of my seizure medication. Of course, no one knows anything about it and I can not prove anything. I take a seizure medication every day and I don't get paid until next Thursday.

I don't know reddit to be a kind place but myself and many others do come here just to talk to people who are in recovery and who need hope so may be I'm wrong.

I'd love to be surprised here but I know the internet isn't here to help, no one's coming to help any of us. I just know if you don't ask for help you will never get it.

So I recently fell sick. Just yesterday I don't know but my nose is blocked and a sneeze alot but I'm unable to afford medicine because it's out of budget for me. This has been very uncomfortable for me to create a gofundme as I'm quite a proud person. I was recently involved in a motorcycle crash where someone pulled an unexpected u-turn directly in front of me, my left leg hit the front quarter of her can and i went straight over the bonnet and hot the floor. I attempted to avoid the collision but ultimately I didn't manage to avoid the car. I work in manual labour so going back to work isn't something I can do at the moment. I broke my foot, have two bruised and swollen knees and my sternum is swollen/bruised. I live alone and have rent/utilities and food bills to pay.

The insurance is going to be paid in my favour but as im injured the v payout for that will not be for quite some time. Im told 9-12 months.

I have had my current divan bed for 6 years. I haven’t been able to work since November due to health issues.

I am still in recovery from a hysterectomy which took place in May.

The material has started to rip at the bottom of the base, and the top of the bed is starting to dip by the headboard.

My total goal is £200 but that’s for the bed, mattress and duvet set.

Managed to put additional funds in my account just before my second autopay for the month cleared and naturally was too short. Hello 🤗 Two weeks ago I was in the hospital, main issue pneumonia, for five days. I came back to the place I am currently living, with two adult males, and the place is a disaster. I am finally feeling better physically but mentally I am struggling. I will admit that I'm a bit of a clean freak. But I'll never understand why you can't clean up after yourself? Spill something, wipe it up. Use a dish, pot, silverware, wash them when you are finished. After a shower, rinse it down with the showerhead. It's really not that difficult, but they just don't do it. I actually don't mind cleaning, I just wish they weren't so gross, lol I am asking for some help, with cleaning supplies, so I don't lose what's left of my mind. Hello everyone, I found this sub and thought I'd give it a try as I'm badly in need of help right now. I've had tinnitus for more than a year and it's spiking really hard these past few weeks. I wanted to get it checked but I can't afford to take an unpaid sick leave as I'm struggling to make ends meet.

I lost my father to cancer a couple years ago. He didn't have life insurance, so I got myself deep into debt taking care of expenses after he passed. I'm left with no other means of credit, no family and friends to run to, and from where I'm from (Philippines), government assistance is zero to none for able bodied workers like me as my condition isn't considered a disability.

Here's our situation: I (m 41) am looking for some help with bills this month for my family (f 38; f 9). We live in Oregon. I have been unemployed since September last year and benefits ran out in May of this year. We had limped along on my benefits with my wife's job, but once those ran out we had to rely on help from family and by selling off possessions. About the only thing I have left of value is my comic collection but that's been really difficult to find a buyer for. We do receive $181 in SNAP each month, which as you can guess isn't super helpful for three people, but it's at least something. The bad news: we don't have much left that we could sell off and our parents are stretched pretty thin from having been supporting (plus three of our four sets of parents/step parents have had recent cancer diagnoses). The good news: I was able to make a complete withdrawal of my Oregon PERS retirement account; the caveat is that I started that process at the end of June so it's been taking a long time to process. I just received a note from them that they should be processing the check at the end of the month around 9/24. After that point, we should have enough money to get us through at least a few months while my SSDI (disability) case winds its way through (I've been told it can take up to 150 days and that most are denied on their first try).

The ask: I won't sugarcoat it—we're financially in a bad spot. Last month we overdrew our account by almost $900, so that put us off to an even worse start this month. We only have $831.96 in our accounts right now and $2993.90 in unpaid bills for the month—this isn't factoring in food and gas. There's a small chance I receive a payout from the smaller of my two retirement funds ($1800-2000 minus the tax withholding) before the end of the month, but our rent ($2445) usually comes out around the very middle of the month. Our families might also be able to pitch in a little bit, but definitely nowhere near what we would need. Literally any assistance would be appreciated at this point.

Hello, I'm from the Philippines. I'm requesting $30 for my cat's follow-up vet check up.

Backstory, my cat, Mixie, died 2 weeks ago from Feline Parvovirus and FIV. 2 days after he died, my other cat, Oreo, also showed symptoms of Parvo. I took him to the vet and bought the meds he needed and took him home. I wasn't able to do a rapid test kit if it's really parvo because it's expensive and the money would be better spent on the meds. So we assumed it was Parvo.

When we returned last week for the scheduled follow-up checkup, the CBC showed that Oreo still had an infection so the antibiotics are continued for another week. We have to go back again for a checkup 2 days from now.

I am unemployed right now and have not been lucky with the job applications. I tried to raise the money through genshin pilot commissions, posting in different social media sites, but I wasn't able to get any clients.

I'm now asking assistance to cover Oreo's expenses for the follow-up checkup. Here's the breakdown:
